Should Keep or Look into term Life Insurance Quotes? I have a whole life policy which I have been paying 45.00 per month for 16 yrs. I have to pay this amount until age 99 so they say. The amount it was for when I bought it was 50,000. It builds cash value. I am now 62. Should I keep this policy or look into term insurance?

Best Term Life Insurance Quotes Ownership? My wife and I are in our 40's and 50's. We have created A/B trusts and transferred our assets to them, and expect to have estates that will benefit from the estate tax saving these trusts afford. We recently both purchased $1M 10-year renewable term life insurance policies that we expect to keep for 10 years. We chose not to use life insurance trusts because the purpose of the policies is to replace the lost income of the deceased spouse if one of us dies relatively soon, not to increase our final estate, and the trusts are somewhat costly. We each specified our own trusts as the beneficiaries, because we want the disposition of assets specified there to be used for this money. The trusts provide for the income, and principle if needed, to be paid to the spouse, and for the remainder to be paid to our child at the remaining spouses death. The question of ownership of the policies is less clear. My lawyer says that it doesn't make much difference who owns them, because the value (estate) taxed is only one year's premium, not the $1M. My accountant says that the $1M is taxed, and that each policy should be owned by the other spouse to avoid tax on that amount. A friend said that there's no way to avoid or significantly decrease the tax, so just leave the ownership as is (each spouse owns their own policy). A further fly in the ointment is that the insurance company (Massachusetts SBLI) makes some forms of trust ownership more difficult and costly. I'm confused. What ownership is the best? What is the benefit of that choice? http://proxyhide.cn/health-insurance.html http://proxyhide.cn/health-insurance.html http://proxyhide.cn/health-insurance.html
Explain Universal vs Term life Insurance Quotes? My wife and I just bought a Universal life insurance policy. We each have $100,000 in coverage. After talking to my parents, who are 59 and 58 years old and have term life, we think we are paying too much per month for premiums. Our agent showed us and told how the premiums we pay will partially go into a savings account and collect interest. This looked like a good thing and that is why we went with the Universal coverage. He also told us that the premiums for term would keep going up as we got older. My parents pay a combined $65/month for there life insurance (with $150,000 coverage each). My wife and I pay a combined $125/month. After talking to my parents and reading up on the difference between universal and term, it seems that the money that is suppose to be in a "savings account" with universal, might not be all it's cracked up to be. I know they gaurantee you a certain interest rate, but that is only if they perform and make the profits that they need to. My question is will there really be as much money in a "savings account" as the agent showed us, or will we cash out at the end and only get a few hundred dollars? Can you explain the difference a little better for me? Thank you very much for your time
Instant Term Life Insurance Quote? I just got employed as a VA (virtual assistant). Am I qualified for a term life insurance? And how can I an instant term life quote. I need one that is relevant and accurate. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Best Type Policy Life Insurance Quotes for Elderly? Any suggestions on finding a reasonable life insurance policy for a man 54 about to turn 55 in a month with a spouse would be appreciated. He has a soon to expire term life insurance policy at the present. He wants the best for his money. Is a term insurance policy still the best type of policy or would another policy be better?

Term Life Insurance Quote? Hi, I am paying $97.21/month for a ROP (Return on Premium) term life insurance policy of $750K for 30 years with State Farm. So at the end of my 30 years, I will be getting back $34,995.60 ($97.21 x 360). Do you think this is a good quote for the term and price? But I would still have to pay 25% tax rate which comes out to $40,000 which is still greater than $35,000. Because I was thinking of investing the difference in Mutual Funds. I'm already maxing out my Roth IRA.
Pay the Extra Premiums for Whole Life Insurance Quotes? I currently have a term life insurance policy and am considering converting it to a whole life policy. I'm married with no kids. My wife has her own life insurance and retirements already in place. We are not going to have children. The main reason I was interested in the Whole Life was the investing portion to supplement my current mutual fund retirement. Should I pay the extra premiums for the Whole life or should I keep the term life and put the extra money into a Roth IRA? Any advice would be great. Thank you
I got a quote for term life insurance for 20 years? ...and it cost $5717.28 is that what I'm supposed to pay monthly or yearly or for the whole 20 years? I have high blood pressure. but it's controlled since i'm taking medicine and eating healthy. I have one son from previous marriage. I'm 49 years old.
Could Possibly Use Life Insurance Quotes Money if needed? 1)I already have term life, I now have an opportunity to get a small whole life policy. I wanted a whole life policy, but at this time can not afford it. Does it make since to purchase a small plan, which would give me a little more coverage and give me the benefits of a whole life plan as far as, cash value building, that I could possibly use if needed?
What exactly does term life insurance mean? I have been paying in to a Chase Life term insurance policy for $100,000.00 for over 10 years. I have recently received a quote for $250,000.00 term policy for LESS than I am paying for the $100K policy. Do I lose anything by changing companies?
Term life insurance and Type 2 Diabetes? Ok, so I filled out one of the online forms that compare major insurance companie's quotes for term life insurance, answering all questions honestly. What I got was at least three phone calls a day from agents on both my land line and cell phone..daily. A company called Matrix (not the one that quoted the best price the I checked), anyway they kept calling because by the time I got home they were closed due to the time difference in Hawaii. When I finally did speak with someone, they went through all the same questions again, and at the end the statement was "No insurance company will insure him(he is 55) because he is too high of a risk with type 2 diabetes". (This was not for me, but for a relative who has quit smoking, but it has not been a year). Is this true???
Does anyone have experience or a Term Life insurance with Asteron recovery? I've researched and have a insurance agent quoting me on Term life $500,000 include trauma buy back for $100,000 for annual premium cost of $1,821.91 monthly $160.00 for level. The insurance agent says this is level until aged 65yrs then becomes stepped. I read somewhere on yahoo, that a Term insurance is not ongoing, as it stipulates there is a term of so many years and if there's no death there's no payout, can anyone confirm this. We're waiting on the paperwork next, this seems to be the cheapest premium I can find for my 48yr husband. Having second thoughts, as I need someones opinion who has experience with policies to let me know what I need to watch out for. Thank you for any guidance.
Does universal life insurance make sense for us over term? We are in the process of getting life insurance quotes. Married, wife is 23 and husband is 27 (he is a pilot so has horrible rates). At first we thought we would want a 30 year term policy for $300k. When we met with an agent he gave us quotes for term and universal life. The premiums were about $30 more a month (increased from $170 to $200 for the two of us) for the universal life policy. I would have never considered a permanent policy until receiving these numbers as from my research I thought we would get very low term rates and unaffordable permanent policy rates. $200/month is unaffordable so we are likely going to drop our amount of coverage to the minimum we'd need anyways. I don't foresee us to need insurance after the 30 years is up, we would rather invest on our own, etc. Just looking at the cost per month and that after 30 years we'd be out the $170/month with nothing to show except peace of mind vs. after 30 years paying $200/month having a bunch of money guaranteed to us (another form of retirement savings although with high fees), would it be dumb to choose a term policy because of our weird rates? Which should we pick (I am still shopping around to make sure I can't get a better deal on term but this is going through our family's agent)? Thanks! From the guaranteed projections for this 50% fixed 50% variable (based on S&P500) policy we would come out ahead vs. investing the $30/month difference on our own. Otherwise, I would never even consider this. I had always heard it was better to get term insurance. Thing is, our rates are so high as my husband is a pilot (otherwise it would be under $80/month and term would be a better deal). The goal is to protect the surviving spouse against our debts for the next 30 years while we expect to have debts (or our parents if both of us die). Are there any other types of permanent insurance that we should look at instead that may still make more financial sense than universal? I am also getting more quotes to see if this term quote was high. Also, this rate is subject to decrease after they evaluate the questionnaire my husband answered about his flying (the agent assumed he would get the same rating as his other clients who are pilots). We have separate retirement savings.
Does any company offer "Annual renewable term" life insurance in India? Isnt it a better option than Level term? I wish to go in for a pure-risk poicy only, as i believe that insurance and investment should not be mixed up. Any suggestions regarding the same. It seems to me that LIC and SBI are the ones offering the lowest quotes for level term insurance plans. Which plan and which term is best to go for, for a 28 year old..
what term life insurance policy should I get for a 60 yr old man? My father is 60, smoker and taking Zocor. Normal weight. The quotes I have seen for a 10 yr term for $150,000 are $180 a month. Does that seem right? Anyone know a cheaper one? Basically I inherit the house while my relative gets the cash, so it's all fair. I would make the payments and leave my relative as the beneficiary. Thanks the reason I have to get the life ins is because he is leaving me the swanky $400K California home. Meanwhile I have to give my sister $150K in cash to make it even (per my father). Since I don't have that kind of cash (I'm 35) I need life ins now in case he passes away this decade. My father wants me to take out a 2nd mtg upon his death, but I told him that would add $700 monthly to the existing mortgage payment for 30 years (I pay that too) so I'd rather pay $200 for 15 years now. Oh and he's on board. He knows I would have to sell the house to pay off my sister, so this is the only way to have the cash. All good answers! I will probably get a 15 year term and worry about what I'll do if he lives to be 75. in the history of may family 1 male lived past 70. that's why I think if I insure him till 75 I'l be fine. The L.A. house is worth $400K but we owe $80K. I'll have no problem paying the mtg and bills, since I do it now. However if he died tomorrow, and I owed my sis $150K, I'd be screwed and have to sell. All the answers are taking into account that he'll live past 75 and I should save the money instead, but I'm worried about him getting by a bus tomorrow and me having to sell the house. I don;t want the cash, I want to keep the house. I graduated high school from that house :)
Best Strategy for a basic Level Term Life Insurance? Anyone have a good source or strategy for getting level term life insurance from a good solid company? I've had several agents quote me but they seem high compared to prices that my colleagues have attained. They all seem to shy away from the basic level term life insurance and push multiple riders...its obvious they are trying to maximize their commissions. I've considered using a fee-only insurance advisor but the only local one I've found is $300 an hour.
Good Reason For Whole Life Insurance Quotes? I have a whole life policy, through the Nights of Columbus. There is a respected financial advisor, Suze Orman, who seems so adamnant that whole life is not a swift move. She makes it sound as if there is not one reason to own whole vs term. Are there any good reasons for owning whole?
What type of Life Insurance is best for my husband and I? (We just purchased a home, we are both 23 years old) My husband and I are both 23 years old and we just purchased a home. We have been under pressure from our Insurance Agent and our Mortgage broker to obtain Life Insurance in case something happens to one of us. We would like to have coverage in case something happens. I know the importance of Life Insurance, as my mom was killed in a car accident when she was only 38. So, we want to be protected, and we want our house to be safe. We are pretty much clueless when it comes to Insurance policies. I ALREADY LOOKED UP THE INFO ON WIKIPEDIA, SO PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME MORE OF THAT. I want opinions on what the best kind of Life Insurance is for us. Term (but if it is a 30 year term, does that mean when we are for example 54 and something happens after the 30 years, we aren't covered???) or Permanant (whole life, and others). We didn't like the decreasing term policy our agent showed us. We have gotten 2 quotes for Term Life. Help us make an informed decision!!! Please! Dan, I don't have your email address!!!
How much does Whole Life insurance cost? I have a quote for 20-year term life insurance for a non-smoker for $48 a month. How much would it be a month for whole life insurance? I forgot to add that the term was for $250,000 An answer would be great, by the way.
Dilemma: Whole Life or Term Life Insurance? I'm trying to get insurance for my mom through Colonial Penn. I'm so lost right now. If something happens to her I want all of burial cost to be covered. She's 48 with minor health problems. I got a quote for Whole Life $60.48, Term Life $18.45. Big difference. I've been reading that Whole Life insurance ia a rip-off but I'm still confused. Can you guys please help me. Thanks a bunch! :)
What type of Life Insurance should my husband and I get. We are both 23 and just purchased a home.? My husband and I are both 23 years old and we just purchased a home. We have been under pressure from our Insurance Agent and our Mortgage broker to obtain Life Insurance in case something happens to one of us. We would like to have coverage in case something happens. GIVE ME DETAILS OF POLICIES AND WHAT THEY MEAN. WHAT CAN I DO WITH THEM? HOW DO THEY WORK? HOW DO WE BENEFIT? PROS & CONS? PRICES? I KNOW NOTHING! HELP! Term (but if it is a 30 year term, does that mean when we are for example 54 and something happens after the 30 years, we aren't covered?) or Permanant (whole life). We didn't like the decreasing term policy our agent showed us. We have gotten 2 quotes for Term Life, BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND INSURANCE! Help us make an informed decision!!! Please!
27, single, no kids, great health, should i get term life insurance? I spoke to an agent and he recommended life insurance (since in the future I plan on having a family, kids husband). Term insurance for 10 20 or 30 years is pretty cheap ranging from 10-16 bucks a month for me, whole life is A LOT more. I understand the rate for whole life will just keep going up as i get older, but he said it would make sense for me to get term just so I can take the medical test and in the future 10 years (or before the term life insurance expires) I decide to get a whole life policy with the same company (met life) they would still quote me a premium at the health I had when I got my term policy (in case my health were to worsen).... Am i Making sense.. So basically he said to get the term insurance just so I can take the test now and wont have to in the future (20-30 years) which by then who knows what my health may be....My age will pay a factor at that time at how much whole life will be, but my health work for me and not against me.... What do you say? (then by 20 years I can really see if im going the route of having kids etc)
Genworth Life Insurance Company or Wester Reserve Life? For term life insurance ? Thank you!? Hi I am deciding between these two companies. I have tree babies and want to make sure they will be OK if something happen to me. I got quotes for 30 years term coverage 300,000 either 19.95 with Wester Reserve Life or 21.01 with Genworth Life Insurance Company. I understand the Genworth is GE (which is big company so that is plus) I also read they are in some kind of financial crisis. I am in CA and I believe the state should cover 300.000 for the company if they go bankropsy. Which of these is safer? Also I have two question. If I have life insurance does it mean they have to do authopsy if I die? Also is it problem I don't know health history of my mother? To much I ask. Thank you for any answer. Kat
Looking for good company to buy term life insurance? My husband and I recently purchased a home and have a baby on the way. We are desperately searching for a solid insurance company to purchase a 20yr level term life policy. I have gotten a quote from an independent insurance agent that suggested for Primerica at $95/mo (for both of us with a disability waiver rider) (note: agent is family member), one from SelectQuote for Banner Life (never heard of them) at $64.97/mo for same coverage and waiver, and one from another insurance finder for ING at $72.70. ING has had a good rating but I think they have just been demoted slightly from AM Best and S&P. Any info I find online for customer reviews are all negative for every company I look at (not a single positive review for any). I'm not quite sure how these rates vary so widely. I would rather spend a couple extra dollars a month for peace of mind but I am truly at a loss of what to do. Can anyone make any suggestions or recommendations for a company to go with or look into? Thanks. I appreciate all of the help. We know exactly the type of policy we want and the only debts we have are mortgage, college loan and 6 months payments on 1 car. Our financial situation is good but neither my husband nor I can live without each other's income and owe 28 yrs on our mortgage so it is imperative that we get a term policy asap. I'm choosing not to go with Primerica since I have gotten quotes from other companies for around $70 for both of us. I do not wish to pay for services I don't need. I want a term policy and that is all. I will not be using New York Life either since I told the agent exactly what we wanted, how much, why, and which riders to add and all he did was try to talk me out of it and sell me a whole life policy. I am willing to bypass an agent and deal with the company directly if I continue to be unsuccessful with the agents that I've been in contact with. Can anyone recommend an insurance company that I should look into? I'm not interested in any mor
Term Life Insurance at age 21? I am 21 and I was wondering if I should purchase a $1,000,000 term life insurance policy through USAA. I received a quote for $42.19 (and an additional $11.66 for waiver of disability) and the premium is guaranteed for 30 years. Do I need this policy at my age? Also, should I get the Waiver of Disability for $11.66 more per month? All answers are appreciated! More info: I am married No children No debt (except car payment) Thanks!
looking to buy term life insurance? I have some medical issues and not sure if I can even get insurance, can they deny me if i have medical issues? I'm in the early 30s and looking for maybe 20 or 30 yr. Aslo, should I shop around for quotes? What should I look out for?
life insurance quotes? where can i get life insurance quotes??? i think i'm over paying for my term right now thanks
What is the average cost of life insurance? I know individual circumstances apply, but there must be an average monthly cost somewhere. 33 years old, Looking for term life insurance, 500K I was just given a monthly quote for $28 per month
term life insurance question? i just called select quote and got a quote for a fixed 30 year insurance plan for 500,000 at $38/month. do you all think that's a good rate? they don't charge me anything if i choose to discontinue the insurance. i wanted to get some feedback from you all. i was interested in it bc i just had my son and wanted it "just in case." in your experience is the deal i got good? i calculated it and if i paid 38 dollars/month for 30 years and nothing happened to me it would be over 13,000 down the drain. but i guess that's the purpose of insurance. please let me know your thoughts. and, i got the quote over the phone and may have lied about my weight, etc. the rep told me later in the convo that a nurse practitioner will be coming by my house to take a physical and will want my doctor's info to get my medical records. what are your experiences with that?
Can they raise my life insurance by over 50%? I bought term life insurance and they quoted me $19 for 125,000 of coverage. They said after i did my lab tests they could quote me less. I am 23 years old, non smoker, non drinker, not overweight considered healthy. I went for my lab tests for this insurance and they found blood in my urine and raised it to nearly 30 a month. I used to be prone to bladder infections but i havent had any in years. I am so mad are they allowed to do this or am i considered a threat and will die faster? Lol I just bought a condo so they gave me a choice to purchase mortgage ins or life ins, i have no kids. They said if i buy now my rate will be cheaper for life.
Life Insurance for a Thai citizen? I'm trying to find insurance companies that provide whole or term life insurance to Thai citizens living in Thailand that provide quotes on the internet, or easily through email or online forms. At the very least, I'm looking for insurance company recommendations for Thai citizens living in Thailand. I'm not sure which ones are legitimate. I don't want to deal with one that will give the insured person problems or one that will close up shop in a few years. I know there are many insurance companies - I am looking for recommendations from personal experience.
Life Insurance help, NEED HELP NOW!? I'm working on a project and I need a life insurance quote, but I can't give out any personal information like address or telephone number and I haven't been able to find any quote calculators online that don't require that. If anyone could give me some help on finding how much a monthly life insurance payment would be for: •A single, twenty year old female, living alone in an apartment on Long Island in NY. 5 foot 2, 100lbs. •I have no medical problems other than slight anemic tendencies and low blood pressure. (Meaning if I do not eat and take in enough iron and salt, I faint) No prescription medicine, no history of illness in my family. •I have never smoked, never drank, and I'm a virgin so no STDs or children. •I take the bus to and from work so no car accidents, DUIs, or tickets. •I work in an office full-time doing disputes for a Cell Phone Company, 50 hours a week, $600 a week before taxes. Very stationary work. •I have no debt and the only money my family will need if I die is basically funeral costs at about $8,000. •I have never been arrested or convicted of a felony • I don't take part in any sports or high-risk activities •••••• I'm looking for 10 year term insurance and I have no existing insurance. I just need the amount of the monthly payment. Thank you for your help- I really need it!
I'm 22 y/o and have been offered term life ins. for 30 yrs @ 55.00/mth and ROP 30 yrs @ 87.00/mth Help!? I'm a healthy 22 year old and have applied for life insurance. I was quoted at 55.00/month for Term Life Insurance at 30 years (1million dollar policy). I have also received a quote for Return of Premium for 30 years at 87.00/month. With such little difference in premium, should I go for ROP so I can recoup all of my money when I'm 52 or just stick with term and invest the 32 dollar difference into a HY Savings account or into my Def. Comp/IRA? I am obtaining this policy due to my involvement in law enforcement and excessive student loans. (*just as an FYI to those inquiring below)

Best Type Policy Life Insurance Quotes for Elderly? Any suggestions on finding a reasonable life insurance policy for a man 54 about to turn 55 in a month with a spouse would be appreciated. Confused Term Life Insurance Qoutes? I am interested in getting term life insurance for myself and my husband, but I'm so confused about what kind, how much, and how long of a term to get. We have a baby, and I've choosen to stay home. Therefore we have a limited budget. Our mortgage is about $120,000. We are in our early thirties. Is a level term more cost effective or one that esclates with age? To cut costs would it be better to go with less money for a longer term or more money for a shorter term? What other variables should I consider when choosing an insurance company? I've gotten quotes from different companies for a 20 year term for $200,000, and they range from $180 per year to $600 per year. This is just making me more confused!
Where can I get a quote for Term Joint Life Insurance (First to Die) in the U.S.? The main reason that I am interested in the Joint Policy is so that if either my wife or I died, the other would have enough money to pay for the burial of course, and then also pay off the house, vehicles, and any other debt, so that she or I could keep the kids in our home. If I am understanding it right, by doing joint, I can get a larger pay out on the first death, instead of splitting the amount between two policies, which would only result in half of payout on one death for a comparable premium, which isn't the situation that I am looking for a solution too. I look forward to all of your responses, and thanks in advance. Thanks for all your suggestions so far, but I guess I should have been a little more clear. I have checked with different brokers, and online companies, but just can't find any that offer the product. I know there has to be at least a couple of reputable companies that do, but I just can't seem to find any in the U.S.

If you know about term life insurance this question is for you . . I am 40 years old? and am replacing a couple of short term policies with a 20 year 500,000$ policy. House, auto and these policies are with state farm. My quote for preferred was about $70 per month - super preferred was about $55 per month. My only risk factor (besides being male) is CHL that runs about 220. (Tried statin drugs but my liver does not like them). I did a search on the internet and it looks as if I can get the same type of policy from a number of companies for only$350-450 per month. Am I missing something? Is it more difficult to qualify for thier coverage? Need some advice. Thanks what I meant to say was 350-400 per year - much less than the 600 -700 per year quoted at state farm
what is the difference between term/whole life insurance vs accidental death insurance? I'm trying to buy life insurance for myself and my mother. I read up on this survivorship insurance which sounded pretty good since I wanted something for my mother if I were do die first and vice versa. but most of the online quotes I saw were between spouses... But I got confused when I read about accidental death ins- does this mean I will not be covered if I die of an illness or old age- but instead must die of an accident such as auto or slip and fall?? secondly, would I get taxed on the interest earned on the universal/whole ins or when the policy is paid out/ surrendered?
LIFE INSURANCE - 5 yr term or 30 yr guaranteed term? Please read extra text before answering! Thank you :)? I've been quoted £15 per month for a 5 year term and £20 per month for a guaranteed term over a period of 25 years. After researching life insurance premiums I've learnt they have reduced by 32% over the last 10 years due to longer life expectancy and new medicines. Do you think this guaranteed term is just another way for companies to get more money out of us by using the "just in case" or "you never know what'll happen" approach or is it worth while? Anyone got a crystal ball?

Where is a website that gives you life insurance quotes instantly? I've been looking all afternoon for a site that you can fill out your information and get a quote instantly. I need this for a school project, but I've been given the run around on sites, had one demand payment before telling me the terms (didn't give them any bank or credit info for that) one that said they didn't have anything in my area for me, but had the nerve to call anyway and they couldn't get off the phone fast enough when I said it was for school(that was the main reason I opted for the online research- I don't like talking on the phone with people who assume I know nothing and they can take advantage of me). I've already comprise a sites I'll never buy insurance from, but my teacher wants quotes from 2 companies on both term and whole life insurance. Please help!

I'm looking in to insurance, when is whole life a good idea. I can't find one.? I want to get life insurance and after getting quote from an agent I looked into it. I found that I would get more coverage with term for a better price. I kind of understand the savings portion but wouldn't it make more sense to get a term policy and put the rest in a etf or mutual fund, that way it's my money and the insurance company can't keep it if I would happen to pass. I am going to go with the term but is there any reason to go with the whole life. I'm 24 with wife and 3yr old. Also, why would the agent not tell me about term insurance, it seems like a better deal if you ask me.

20yrs old... need help with life insurance, of all things.? I'm 20 years old and 5 months pregnant with my first child. I'm starting to think about things like life insurance. I know I want term life insurance and not whole because I am already set up with a 401k at my job. The quotes I'm getting are confusing me and I'm not entirely sure what to ask for in terms of years (20, 25, 30 etc) and amount (500,000 750,000 etc). How much should I be paying monthly and can anyone recommend what a healthy 20 year old with (soon to be) one dependent should be going after for a life insurance plan?
What companies still offer "actual" Mortgage Life Insurance policies? Unfortunately, there is some extensive health history that prohibits the application of such traditional Term/Whole life solutions. From what I understand, actual Mortgage Life Insurance is a decreasing plan (following the decreasing principle of your loan) that is shared by both borrowers and designed only to pay off the mortgage in the event one or both borrowers dies. Can you give me the names, ph#, email, URL, to any companies that offer this specific insurance product? I have already asked my lender, loan servicer, and about 100 different B.S. online quotes :) Thanks. Just to be crystal clear...I am not looking for Term Life Insurance, Whole Life Insurance, Variable, Universal, or any other typical live insurace vehicle. Eventhough the insurance industry has muddiedthe definiton; "Mortgage Life Insurance" is a specific product in it of itself.
what does non-guaranteed cash value mean in life insurance? how do they come up with this numbers? and why do agents always push whole life instead of the term? the quote says if for a whole life, $100,000 benefit / 30 yr, after 30 yrs the guratanteed is same 100grand, but the NON-guaranteed is gonna be $206,000 and the cash value would be 116,000. like i said, how do they come up with this numbers? how? i need numbers.
I'm 24 and married. Do I need Term AND Perm life insurance? My financial advisor advised me to sign up for a $400+/yr term plan (20 yrs I believe) and a $1100+/yr perm (whole life) policy for $300,000. (I don't recall which one this figure is for). I read that term is much better and is actually much cheaper than even the figure my advisor quoted me. As little detail as I provided, and my goals in life are pretty average (e.g., nothing special!), do I need both policies or should I only get term? On another note, what upset me with them is that our new planners didn't even give us time to think about what we wanted before shoving papers in our faces. So, are they right or wrong for selling us both these policies for a 24 y/o married couple (I'm 24, she's 23). ...and, should I keep my financial advisor? :-D Thanks! BTW, my wife works full-time as well and plans to continue after having kids (and of course taking some time off), so she won't be jobless her entire life.
How to say no to an insurance agent? So I spent a few hours with this life insurance agent last weekend discussing various options and she gave me lots of term and whole quotes and paperwork to take home. Did the same with an equally helpful agent of another insurance company thereafter. Quotes vary all over the place, so I intend to consult with one more agent before I decide. Now the problem is how to politely say no to all but one these helpful people? They have already started calling to check if I have decided but I need time to shop around. Hope to hear both from consumers who have faced this situation and insurance salespersons who may perhaps face this frequently. Thanks.
Long-Term Care Insurance? My wife and I are 66 and in good health but considering long term health care insurance. Our broker has got us a couple of quotes, one from John Hancock and one from Auto-Insurance Life; Any words of wisdom on what to look for or avoid would be most welcome.
whole life or term policy?? Mom is 78 still healthy. I was quoted by a friend of my sister that she should take out a whole life policy on my mom for $50,000, at $275/mo I found a 10 year Term policy with the same benefit that's about $75 less. Mom currently has no life insurance on her. Which one should I pick? It's for final expenses and some small debts. The benefit amount would cover final expenses along with cover all liabilties. don't care about investment I read somewhere that for whole life, if the person dies within the first 3 years, depending on the policy, benefit may not be paid. Is that true? I understand that the first couple years of the whole life policy, premiums generally go to cover commissions, cost...etc. and really no cash value is built.

Could Possibly Use Life Insurance Quotes Money if needed? 1)I already have term life, I now have an opportunity to get a small whole life policy. I wanted a whole life policy, but at this time can not afford it. Does it make since to purchase a small plan, which would give me a little more coverage and give me the benefits of a whole life plan as far as, cash value building, that I could possibly use if needed?
Life insurance question? My husband and I are looking into purchasing life insurance, and I'd like to get some input. (Although I give a lot of answers in the insurance category for other types of insurance, I don't have much of a life insurance background.) Here's our situation - both of us are in our early 30s, nonsmokers, and relatively healthy. We have 2 preschool aged children. My goal is basically to have some security for our children through adulthood/college if something were to happen to one or both of us. I'm thinking that a term policy would likely meet our needs, but welcome any suggestions/input. Thanks for your help! (I did contact the agent who handles our home/auto insurance for a quote and advice, but I probably won't hear back until after the weekend. Thought it couldn't hurt to get more input here.) I should also add - we have relative financial stability. (80% of the equity in our home is ours, our kids have a decent sized college fund already - started by my parents.)

Need Erros & Ommissions Liability for Insurance Agent? I sell Life, Health, Accident, Disability, Long Term Care, Medicare and Fixed Annuties Insurance. I have never had a claim. I would like a quote on Aggregate $1,000,000., Each Claim $1,000,000., Deductible $2500.00.
Insurance question about a Critical Illness rider.? I plan to ask my insurance agent this too but his mother just died so will talk to him next week or 2. In the mean time I am evaluating the plan. I am getting a $200k Term policy for 20 years. It also includes a Critical Illness rider for $50k. Which brings up my question. The Quote for Critital Illness rider states "... This rider gives the owner access to a portion of the death benefit if the insured is diagnosed with a life threatening...." Ok I understand what it covers but what I am not clear on is If I do come down with a Critical Illness does that mean that the $50k will be taking out of my 200k death benefit? Or is it an additional 50k on top of my 200k policy. I'm sorry for such a question where the answer seems obvious but just wanted to make sure I got this right. Thanks,

The Nanny -- Nazi -- State Goes a long with Why People Are Scared (The original & my response)? Willys cynical thought for the day; In my web research, Declaration of Independence, etc., I have yet to find where the government says they'll be my freaking mommy! So you goddamn politicians stay the hell out of my life and pockets AZZHOLES! The Nanny State (I got this in a Biker email rag) Worrying about bacteria, New Jersey banned restaurants from serving eggs sunny side up. The ban has since been lifted. Some New Jersey localities have a ban on people pumping their own gasoline. Policemen issue citations for driving without a seatbelt. By law new cars must be equipped with air bags. Federal law mandates that all new toilets flush using a paltry 1.6 gallons of water. Georgia's governor mandates that classical music be given to all new mothers so as to aid infant IQ development. California, and others, has banned smoking in bars. Clinton wants a law passed banning smoking within 100 feet of a federal building. In parts of Ohio, children going trick-or-treating must obtain a special permit. These intrusions and more were recently revealed by television journalist John Stossel on ABC's 20/20. The stated motivation behind this gross intrusion and criminalization of private behavior is to protect us from making unwise choices. John Stossel asked Ricardo Martinez, head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), why can't people at least have air bag on/off switches. Martinez responded by saying that society makes decisions about what benefits most people, and most people benefit from air bags. Stossel interviewed Yale University's Professor Kelley D. Brownell, director of the Center for Eating & Weight Disorders who thinks Americans eat too many hamburgers and French fries. Professor Brownell wants government to tax fatty foods and those with little nutritional content and use the proceeds to subsidize fruits, vegetables and other nutritious foods. He's suggested that some of the tax proceeds be used to build bike and hiking trails. I'm wondering just when Americans are going to decide that we've had enough government meddling in our lives. It is nobody's business whether I eat eggs sunny side up, drive without wearing seat belts, or pig out on hamburgers and French fries. I'd like someone to show me Congress's constitutional authority for government protecting me from making unwise choices. Those who believe government should be in the business of making us take care of ourselves, should tell us where does it all end? Should government decide what time we go to bed? After all sleep is vital to good health. Should government force us to exercise, read wholesome literature, and bathe regularly? The people who advocate a nanny government (a better term is Nazi government) are cowards. You say, "What do you mean, William?" Take Kelley Brownell. If he doesn't want me to eat that Big Mac and French fries, let him walk up to my table and remove them from my plate. He wants no part of doing that because he doesn't want to meet his maker this year so he prefers using the brutal forces of government. "The rest is mine; When I was young, bullies use to pick on me, take food off my lunch tray and otherwise harass me. That's until I followed the advice of my father who told me that if you let a bully get away with one thing, the next day it's going to be something else and the following day something else again. He told me that the bullying won't stop until I decide to stand up and fight. He said that even if I lose the fight, the next time I'm bullied, stand up and fight again. Let the bully know that when he bullies, win, lose or draw, he has a fight on his hands. Eventually he will stop. I think Americans should employ my Dad's advice. As long as we stand as lambs before the slaughter you can bet that there'll be no end to Congress's bureaucratic stooges bullying us. This is still America, last I checked anyway, yes we have 'freedom' here but 'freedom' is, never was and never will be 'Free.' Those of us who like to eat hamburgers and greasy fries must take responsibility by a) walking around with a big butt b) doing exercise or c) (in my case) taking cholesterol lowering pills and *trying* to stay away from the greasy stuff. If we don't want to wear seatbelts, or helmets, WE, not Congress, must pay in pain, time (in hospitals, rehabs w/e), or loss of body parts. I'm firmly convinced I would never have survived, some of, the accidents I was in had I been hog-tied to the seat. The insurance companies, and Medical providers, ALWAYS lobby for these laws but I haven't heard of a single case where after such a law was passed the insurance company says, "Oh with your 20 year perfect driving record (not mine) we've decided that your next ___ year's insurance is on us." Has a hospital ever said, "Now that our ER doctors and nurses won't have to be patching up all the accidents maybe we should offer breast enlargement at half price?" Now stop laughing and reread this paragraph in it, under sarcasm, is the point I'm trying to make. The answer to both is NO! And unless an insurance company or hospital administrator is reading this, and wants to prove me wrong, I don't think it ever will be! The 'it's good for you' doesn't stop at the things listed above. What if a slimy politician took it in his, or her, head that tattooing is wrong? Or certain subjects can't be tattooed on anybody? Like large breasted blondes, skulls, flames, or spider webs? I hope I'm NOT giving them any ideas because I have all these. This can be taken as far as you want to go like; they pass a law that ONLY Army, Marine, Navy, Airforce w/e tattoos are kosher. Or just Democrat or Republican ink is allowed. How about the ONLY lower back, female, tattoo that will be allowed is a 'GodSmack Sun?' Okay tattooists stop salivating imagining how much business you'll get by people running out to get their favorite tattoo done. And remember the upswing will only last until enforcement duties are figured out, i.e., the local Police, County cops, State Police or help us all if the FBI gets the job. Actually help them I don't need any help! And of course that's not the only thing 'good for you.' This has been tried but what if Congress actually passed a law banning Rock & Roll, Country, Blues, Rock-a-Billy or Rap music. Or what if they legislate pianos, Violins and Trumpets are the only acceptable instruments? No electric guitars, fiddles, Blues Harps or Saxophones? And of course subsidizing lessons is another way to do, almost, the same thing! Americans are lucky the founding fathers came from Europe where Religion - a belief in their God - was considered 'good for you' so it was mandated in some places; which is where 'The First Amendment' came from. If European governments had mandated seatbelts on cable cars and horses, and or required at least 4 oz. of meat at dinner -- chicken, beef or fish -- there may have been another Bill of Rights. This one saying, something like, "Congress shall make no law requiring citizens to do anything somebody thinks will be good for them." Unless, of course, any of them made, or sold, seatbelts or had anything to do with producing, or selling, meat. In 1776 that was, almost, everybody. This was long before people either ate meat or were vegetarians. In fact getting enough to eat was more important than the cholesterol!" Now a few quotes; "The career of a politician mainly consists in making one part of the nation do what it does not want to do, in order to please and satisfy the other part of the nation. It is the prolonged sacrifice of the rights of some persons at the bidding and for the satisfaction of other persons. The ruling idea of the politician - stated rather bluntly - is that those who are opposed to him exist for the purpose of being made to serve his ends, if he can get power enough in his hands to force these ends upon them." -- Auberon Herbert "There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him." -- Robert Heinlein "The most basic question is not what is best but who shall decide what is best." -- Thomas Sowell http://www.total-knowledge.com/~willyblues/ From; Willys Jokes archieves

Those, who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor? I have heard this quoted by Roosevelt. re: Re: giving up our freedoms. What was he really saying? I just don't take it the way it gets quoted. Not looking for an argument looking for a discussion. thanks Our Documents: Franklin Roosevelt's Annual Address to Congress - The "Four Freedoms" January 6, 1941 Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, Members of the Seventy-seventh Congress: I address you, the Members of the Seventy-seventh Congress, at a moment unprecedented in the history of the Union. I use the word "unprecedented," because at no previous time has American security been as seriously threatened from without as it is today. Since the permanent formation of our Government under the Constitution, in 1789, most of the periods of crisis in our history have related to our domestic affairs. Fortunately, only one of these--the four-year War Between the States--ever threatened our national unity. Today, thank God, one hundred and thirty million Americans, in forty-eight States, have forgotten points of the compass in our national unity. It is true that prior to 1914 the United States often had been disturbed by events in other Continents. We had even engaged in two wars with European nations and in a number of undeclared wars in the West Indies, in the Mediterranean and in the Pacific for the maintenance of American rights and for the principles of peaceful commerce. But in no case had a serious threat been raised against our national safety or our continued independence. What I seek to convey is the historic truth that the United States as a nation has at all times maintained clear, definite opposition, to any attempt to lock us in behind an ancient Chinese wall while the procession of civilization went past. Today, thinking of our children and of their children, we oppose enforced isolation for ourselves or for any other part of the Americas. That determination of ours, extending over all these years, was proved, for example, during the quarter century of wars following the French Revolution. While the Napoleonic struggles did threaten interests of the United States because of the French foothold in the West Indies and in Louisiana, and while we engaged in the War of 1812 to vindicate our right to peaceful trade, it is nevertheless clear that neither France nor Great Britain, nor any other nation, was aiming at domination of the whole world. In like fashion from 1815 to 1914-- ninety-nine years-- no single war in Europe or in Asia constituted a real threat against our future or against the future of any other American nation. Except in the Maximilian interlude in Mexico, no foreign power sought to establish itself in this Hemisphere; and the strength of the British fleet in the Atlantic has been a friendly strength. It is still a friendly strength. Even when the World War broke out in 1914, it seemed to contain only small threat of danger to our own American future. But, as time went on, the American people began to visualize what the downfall of democratic nations might mean to our own democracy. We need not overemphasize imperfections in the Peace of Versailles. We need not harp on failure of the democracies to deal with problems of world reconstruction. We should remember that the Peace of 1919 was far less unjust than the kind of "pacification" which began even before Munich, and which is being carried on under the new order of tyranny that seeks to spread over every continent today. The American people have unalterably set their faces against that tyranny. Every realist knows that the democratic way of life is at this moment being' directly assailed in every part of the world--assailed either by arms, or by secret spreading of poisonous propaganda by those who seek to destroy unity and promote discord in nations that are still at peace. During sixteen long months this assault has blotted out the whole pattern of democratic life in an appalling number of independent nations, great and small. The assailants are still on the march, threatening other nations, great and small. Therefore, as your President, performing my constitutional duty to "give to the Congress information of the state of the Union," I find it, unhappily, necessary to report that the future and the safety of our country and of our democracy are overwhelmingly involved in events far beyond our borders. Armed defense of democratic existence is now being gallantly waged in four continents. If that defense fails, all the population and all the resources of Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia will be dominated by the conquerors. Let us remember that the total of those populations and their resources in those four continents greatly exceeds the sum total of the population and the resources of the whole of the Western Hemisphere-many times over. In times like these it is immature--and incidentally, untrue--for anybody to brag that an unprepared America, single-handed, and with one hand tied behind its back, can hold off the whole world. No realistic American can expect from a dictator's peace international generosity, or return of true independence, or world disarmament, or freedom of expression, or freedom of religion -or even good business. Such a peace would bring no security for us or for our neighbors. "Those, who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." As a nation, we may take pride in the fact that we are softhearted; but we cannot afford to be soft-headed. We must always be wary of those who with sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal preach the "ism" of appeasement. We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests. I have recently pointed out how quickly the tempo of modern warfare could bring into our very midst the physical attack which we must eventually expect if the dictator nations win this war. There is much loose talk of our immunity from immediate and direct invasion from across the seas. Obviously, as long as the British Navy retains its power, no such danger exists. Even if there were no British Navy, it is not probable that any enemy would be stupid enough to attack us by landing troops in the United States from across thousands of miles of ocean, until it had acquired strategic bases from which to operate. But we learn much from the lessons of the past years in Europe-particularly the lesson of Norway, whose essential seaports were captured by treachery and surprise built up over a series of years. The first phase of the invasion of this Hemisphere would not be the landing of regular troops. The necessary strategic points would be occupied by secret agents and their dupes- and great numbers of them are already here, and in Latin America. As long as the aggressor nations maintain the offensive, they-not we--will choose the time and the place and the method of their attack. That is why the future of all the American Republics is today in serious danger. That is why this Annual Message to the Congress is unique in our history. That is why every member of the Executive Branch of the Government and every member of the Congress faces great responsibility and great accountability. The need of the moment is that our actions and our policy should be devoted primarily-almost exclusively--to meeting this foreign peril. For all our domestic problems are now a part of the great emergency. Just as our national policy in internal affairs has been based upon a decent respect for the rights and the dignity of all our fellow men within our gates, so our national policy in foreign affairs has been based on a decent respect for the rights and dignity of all nations, large and small. And the justice of morality must and will win in the end. Our national policy is this: First, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to all-inclusive national defense. Second, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to full support of all those resolute peoples, everywhere, who are resisting aggression and are thereby keeping war away from our Hemisphere. By this support, we express our determination that the democratic cause shall prevail; and we strengthen the defense and the security of our own nation. Third, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to the proposition that principles of morality and considerations for our own security will never permit us to acquiesce in a peace dictated by aggressors and sponsored by appeasers. We know that enduring peace cannot be bought at the cost of other people's freedom. In the recent national election there was no substantial difference between the two great parties in respect to that national policy. No issue was fought out on this line before the American electorate. Today it is abundantly evident that American citizens everywhere are demanding and supporting speedy and complete action in recognition of obvious danger. Therefore, the immediate need is a swift and driving increase in our armament production. Leaders of industry and labor have responded to our summons. Goals of speed have been set. In some cases these goals are being reached ahead of time; in some cases we are on schedule; in other cases there are slight but not serious delays; and in some cases--and I am sorry to say very important cases--we are all concerned by the slowness of the accomplishment of our plans. The Army and Navy, however, have made substantial progress during the past year. Actual experience is improving and speeding up our methods of production with every passing day. And today's best is not good enough for tomorrow. I am not satisfied with the progress thus far made. The men in charge of the program represent the best in training, in ability, and in patriotism. They are not satisfied with the progress thus far made. None of us will be satisfied until the job is done. No matter whether the original goal was set too high or too low, our objective is quicker and better results. To give you two illustrations: We are behind schedule in turning out finished airplanes; we are working day and night to solve the innumerable problems and to catch up. We are ahead of schedule in building warships but we are working to get even further ahead of that schedule. To change a whole nation from a basis of peacetime production of implements of peace to a basis of wartime production of implements of war is no small task. And the greatest difficulty comes at the beginning of the program, when new tools, new plant facilities, new assembly lines, and new ship ways must first be constructed before the actual materiel begins to flow steadily and speedily from them. The Congress, of course, must rightly keep itself informed at all times of the progress of the program. However, there is certain information, as the Congress itself will readily recognize, which, in the interests of our own security and those of the nations that we are supporting, must of needs be kept in confidence. New circumstances are constantly begetting new needs for our safety. I shall ask this Congress for greatly increased new appropriations and authorizations to carry on what we have begun. I also ask this Congress for authority and for funds sufficient to manufacture additional munitions and war supplies of many kinds, to be turned over to those nations which are now in actual war with aggressor nations. Our most useful and immediate role is to act as an arsenal for them as well as for ourselves. They do not need man power, but they do need billions of dollars worth of the weapons of defense. The time is near when they will not be able to pay for them all in ready cash. We cannot, and we will not, tell them that they must surrender, merely because of present inability to pay for the weapons which we know they must have. I do not recommend that we make them a loan of dollars with which to pay for these weapons--a loan to be repaid in dollars. I recommend that we make it possible for those nations to continue to obtain war materials in the United States, fitting their orders into our own program. Nearly all their materiel would, if the time ever came, be useful for our own defense. Taking counsel of expert military and naval authorities, considering what is best for our own security, we are free to decide how much should be kept here and how much should be sent abroad to our friends who by their determined and heroic resistance are giving us time in which to make ready our own defense. For what we send abroad, we shall be repaid within a reasonable time following the close of hostilities, in similar materials, or, at our option, in other goods of many kinds, which they can produce and which we need. Let us say to the democracies: "We Americans are vitally concerned in your defense of freedom. We are putting forth our energies, our resources and our organizing powers to give you the strength to regain and maintain a free world. We shall send you, in ever-increasing numbers, ships, planes, tanks, guns. This is our purpose and our pledge." In fulfillment of this purpose we will not be intimidated by the threats of dictators that they will regard as a breach of international law or as an act of war our aid to the democracies which dare to resist their aggression. Such aid is not an act of war, even if a dictator should unilaterally proclaim it so to be. When the dictators, if the dictators, are ready to make war upon us, they will not wait for an act of war on our part. They did not wait for Norway or Belgium or the Netherlands to commit an act of war. Their only interest is in a new one-way international law, which lacks mutuality in its observance, and, therefore, becomes an instrument of oppression. The happiness of future generations of Americans may well depend upon how effective and how immediate we can make our aid felt. No one can tell the exact character of the emergency situations that we may be called upon to meet. The Nation's hands must not be tied when the Nation's life is in danger. We must all prepare to make the sacrifices that the emergency-almost as serious as war itself--demands. Whatever stands in the way of speed and efficiency in defense preparations must give way to the national need. A free nation has the right to expect full cooperation from all groups. A free nation has the right to look to the leaders of business, of labor, and of agriculture to take the lead in stimulating effort, not among other groups but within their own groups. The best way of dealing with the few slackers or trouble makers in our midst is, first, to shame them by patriotic example, and, if that fails, to use the sovereignty of Government to save Government. As men do not live by bread alone, they do not fight by armaments alone. Those who man our defenses, and those behind them who build our defenses, must have the stamina and the courage which come from unshakable belief in the manner of life which they are defending. The mighty action that we are calling for cannot be based on a disregard of all things worth fighting for. The Nation takes great satisfaction and much strength from the things which have been done to make its people conscious of their individual stake in the preservation of democratic life in America. Those things have toughened the fibre of our people, have renewed their faith and strengthened their devotion to the institutions we make ready to protect. Certainly this is no time for any of us to stop thinking about the social and economic problems which are the root cause of the social revolution which is today a supreme factor in the world. For there is nothing mysterious about the foundations of a healthy and strong democracy. The basic things expected by our people of their political and economic systems are simple. They are: Equality of opportunity for youth and for others. Jobs for those who can work. Security for those who need it. The ending of special privilege for the few. The preservation of civil liberties for all. The enjoyment of the fruits of scientific progress in a wider and constantly rising standard of living. These are the simple, basic things that must never be lost sight of in the turmoil and unbelievable complexity of our modern world. The inner and abiding strength of our economic and political systems is dependent upon the degree to which they fulfill these expectations. Many subjects connected with our social economy call for immediate improvement. As examples: We should bring more citizens under the coverage of old-age pensions and unemployment insurance. We should widen the opportunities for adequate medical care. We should plan a better system by which persons deserving or needing gainful employment may obtain it. I have called for personal sacrifice. I am assured of the willingness of almost all Americans to respond to that call. A part of the sacrifice means the payment of more money in taxes. In my Budget Message I shall recommend that a greater portion of this great defense program be paid for from taxation than we are paying today. No person should try, or be allowed, to get rich out of this program; and the principle of tax payments in accordance with ability to pay should be constantly before our eyes to guide our legislation. If the Congress maintains these principles, the voters, putting patriotism ahead of pocketbooks, will give you their applause. In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression--everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way--everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want--which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants-everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear--which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor--anywhere in the world. That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb. To that new order we oppose the greater conception--the moral order. A good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear. Since the beginning of our American history, we have been engaged in change -- in a perpetual peaceful revolution -- a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly adjusting itself to changing conditions--without the concentration camp or the quick-lime in the ditch. The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, working together in a friendly, civilized society. This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women; and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights or keep them. Our strength is our unity of purpose. To that high concept there can be no end save victory. Nosey girl lol. yes I do have alot of time on my hands. for those of you who have answered thank you. The way I took what he said was less about our personal freedom and more about letting others do our fighting for us. but that's just me.
So basically he sa
term life insurance question.? i just called select quote and got a quote for a fixed 30 year insurance plan for 500,000 at $38/month. do you all think that's a good rate? they don't charge me anything if i choose to discontinue the insurance. i wanted to get some feedback from you all. i was interested in it bc i just had my son and wanted it "just in case." in your experience is the deal i got good? i calculated it and if i paid 38 dollars/month for 30 years and nothing happened to me it would be over 13,000 down the drain. but i guess that's the purpose of insurance. please let me know your thoughts. and, i got the quote over the phone and may have lied about my weight, etc. the rep told me later in the convo that a nurse practitioner will be coming by my house to take a physical and will want my doctor's info to get my medical records. what are your experiences with that?
The Drinking Trap. Are You at Risk? THE drinking of alcoholic beverages has two faces: one happy and the other sad. The moderate drinking of alcohol can make the heart of man rejoice, says the Bible. (Psalm 104:15) Yet, the Bible also warns that misuse can cause harm or can even be deadly, like the bite of a poisonous snake. (Proverbs 23:31, 32) Let us take a closer look at the high cost of the misuse of alcohol. “A drunk driver ran over a 25-year-old mother and her two-year-old son on Saturday. . . . The young woman, who was six months pregnant, died on Sunday. Her son, who suffered head injuries, is in critical condition,” reported the newspaper Le Monde. Sadly, such accounts are far from rare. Perhaps you know someone who was involved in an accident that occurred because of alcohol misuse. Each year thousands of people are killed or injured in road accidents involving alcohol. Death Toll Worldwide, the cost of alcohol misuse in terms of human life is incalculable. In France alcohol abuse is the third cause of death, after cancer and coronary heart disease, killing some 50,000 people directly or indirectly each year. This is “the equivalent of two to three jumbo-jet crashes each week,” according to a report commissioned by the French Health Ministry. The death toll exacted by alcohol is especially heavy among young people. According to a World Health Organization report published in 2001, alcohol is the leading cause of death among European men aged 15 to 29. It is predicted that soon in some Eastern European countries, misuse of alcohol will kill 1 out of every 3 young men there. Violence and Sexual Assault Alcohol contributes to acts of violence. Drinking can remove inhibitions and social restraints and can blur the way one interprets other people’s actions, making a violent response more likely. Alcohol is a significant factor in domestic violence and sexual assault. A French study of prison inmates suggested that alcohol was involved in two thirds of rapes and indecent assaults. Surveys indicate that in Poland, 75 percent of alcoholics’ wives have been subjected to violence, notes the magazine Polityka. The authors of one study estimated that “the use of alcohol is associated with an approximately two-fold increased risk of homicide within all age groups and that [even] nondrinkers living in homes with alcohol users were at increased risk of homicide.”—American Medical Association, Council on Scientific Affairs. Social Cost When health and insurance costs and lost productivity resulting from accidents, illness, or premature death are calculated, the financial cost to society is staggering. Alcohol abuse is said to cost Ireland’s four million people at least one billion dollars a year. A source quoted in The Irish Times stated that this sum is equal to “the price of a new hospital, a sports stadium and a jet for every Minister every year.” In 1998 the Mainichi Daily News reported that the economic impact of heavy drinking in Japan was “more than 6 trillion yen [$55 billion] a year.” A report to the U.S. Congress declared: “The estimated economic cost of alcohol abuse was $184.6 billion for 1998 alone, or roughly $638 for every man, woman, and child living in the United States that year.” And what about the psychological cost of broken or bereaved families and stunted educations or careers? what do you think ? if you have doubt, you can find http://www.watchtower.org/
Life insurance needs- 32 married with 2 kids? Shopping for life insurance is confusing. I'm 32, my wife is 30 and have 2 kids, ones 2 and the other is 4. All I am looking to do is protect our family if something happens to one of us. Keeping the monthly premium down is paramount. I'm thinking that both of us should just get basic 30 year term insurance policies of 10x our salary. I got some quotes and the annual premium for 30 years vs. 20 is not much (15% more per yr.) Does this sound like the normal guide lines for someone in my position??
Life Insurance in Thailand? I'm trying to find insurance companies that provide whole or term life insurance to Thai citizens living in Thailand that provide quotes on the internet, or easily through email or online forms. At the very least, I'm looking for insurance company recommendations for Thai citizens living in Thailand. I'm not sure which ones are legitimate. I don't want to deal with one that will give the insured person problems or one that will close up shop in a few years. Thanks.
