Is it better to buy life insurance or term life insurance? This isn't spam and I don't want spam as answers, but what type of life insurance is better and why? Is there a pros/cons list anywhere? I've already got the companies lined up that I'm going to use to buy the insurance, but I'm not sure if it's better to get the cheaper term life insurance or if I should pay more for "regular" life insurance.
Cheapest term life insurance plan in india? Any cheapest term life insurance plan in india?
Which major company has relativly cheap life insurance for young people? Which companies traditionally have low rates for term life insurance for young people. I'm 24 and my wife is 25. We want to get 300,000 each. Neither of these answers answered my question.
life insurance question - whole life, bank on yourself/infinite banking, term life? Hello, my husband and I are in early 40s, with a 1 year old son. We both work full time. We bought a house on a 30 year mortgage last year. We are looking for a life insurance for each of us and inquired the same company that has our car and home insurance about it. We aren’t really knowledgeable about various insurance products. We knew there was term and permanent life insurance, but not about different permanent options (whole, universal, etc.). I had imagined that we would go with a cheap, term life insurance. When we talked with the agent, he started off by talking about bank on yourself (infinite banking) concept. We finished the meeting without digesting all the information, but after looking at various information on the web, I’m still not sure if it is a good idea or not. What we want the life insurance to cover if one of us dies now/soon is at least half the cost of raising our son (until he’s 21, so maybe 20 more years?), half the remaining balance on the mortgage, funeral cost, and amount we would have saved in the coming years for our son’s college. I tentatively calculated that to be about 300,000. However, if we don’t die until we’re 70, most of our mortgage would be paid off, we would have already paid for his college tuition, so we don’t need that much coverage. I have read that people should re-examine their insurance needs periodically and adjust their coverage from time to time. But then I imagine if we re-examine and adjust our coverage when we’re 50, 60, or 70, our premiums would be much higher (assuming “adjusting” our insurance=change to smaller coverage would be equivalent of starting new policy; please let me know if this is wrong). I wonder, if taking a whole life policy and taking the money out (=banking on ourselves) for our son’s tuition and some additional principal payment on the house would be a way to “adjust” the size of our insurance, without increasing the premium (from “refreshing” our policy at an older age)? If we take out that money from our policy and not pay back in full, then I imagine our death benefit would be smaller, but that’s fine if it’s after we’ve paid for most of our mortgage or our son’s tuition. Is this thinking on the right track? What I understood before is it is usually the best to buy term insurance and if you have extra money, invest in other vehicles, rather than buying more expensive insurance. Would this still hold true in this case as well? Also, if we are to look around into other companies, which ones do you recommend? I also don’t quite understand paying back what you withdraw with interest when you bank on yourself. Who are you paying the interest to – to the insurance company (they’re making profit, I’m losing money), or myself (we're making money)? Another question: in the whole life scenario that the agent showed us, the cash value does not seem to exceed the totally premium paid until 18th year (cash surrender value in non-guaranteed illustrated values), and in guaranteed values scenario, the guaranteed cash value never exceeds totally premium paid. Is this common? Its dividend also never seems to reach the point where it pays for itself (amount of dividend >premium). Does this seem right? I would appreciate your input. Thank you!
Cheapest Term Life insurance policy? I want to buy a 30 years fixed term life insurance. Where can I buy the policy not spending lots of money? <any company you know, thanks>
Why is it cheaper to get term life insurance as a business or through a business than as an individual? It seems much more costly to buy direct as an individual than thru my company. Is my company getting a tax credit/discount? Should I form an LLC to get the same discounted value?
Need the cheapest term insurance for someone 55 years old? I would like to buy a $100,000 term life insurance policy. I am 55 years old. Anyone know about how much this would cost me and the best company to buy from?
Short term life insurance for flight? I am flying to India in a couple of months. What's the cheapest way to get life insurance for that particular flight?
what term life insurance policy should I get for a 60 yr old man? My father is 60, smoker and taking Zocor. Normal weight. The quotes I have seen for a 10 yr term for $150,000 are $180 a month. Does that seem right? Anyone know a cheaper one? Basically I inherit the house while my relative gets the cash, so it's all fair. I would make the payments and leave my relative as the beneficiary. Thanks the reason I have to get the life ins is because he is leaving me the swanky $400K California home. Meanwhile I have to give my sister $150K in cash to make it even (per my father). Since I don't have that kind of cash (I'm 35) I need life ins now in case he passes away this decade. My father wants me to take out a 2nd mtg upon his death, but I told him that would add $700 monthly to the existing mortgage payment for 30 years (I pay that too) so I'd rather pay $200 for 15 years now. Oh and he's on board. He knows I would have to sell the house to pay off my sister, so this is the only way to have the cash. All good answers! I will probably get a 15 year term and worry about what I'll do if he lives to be 75. in the history of may family 1 male lived past 70. that's why I think if I insure him till 75 I'l be fine. The L.A. house is worth $400K but we owe $80K. I'll have no problem paying the mtg and bills, since I do it now. However if he died tomorrow, and I owed my sis $150K, I'd be screwed and have to sell. All the answers are taking into account that he'll live past 75 and I should save the money instead, but I'm worried about him getting by a bus tomorrow and me having to sell the house. I don;t want the cash, I want to keep the house. I graduated high school from that house :)
27, single, no kids, great health, should i get term life insurance? I spoke to an agent and he recommended life insurance (since in the future I plan on having a family, kids husband). Term insurance for 10 20 or 30 years is pretty cheap ranging from 10-16 bucks a month for me, whole life is A LOT more. I understand the rate for whole life will just keep going up as i get older, but he said it would make sense for me to get term just so I can take the medical test and in the future 10 years (or before the term life insurance expires) I decide to get a whole life policy with the same company (met life) they would still quote me a premium at the health I had when I got my term policy (in case my health were to worsen).... Am i Making sense.. So basically he said to get the term insurance just so I can take the test now and wont have to in the future (20-30 years) which by then who knows what my health may be....My age will pay a factor at that time at how much whole life will be, but my health work for me and not against me.... What do you say? (then by 20 years I can really see if im going the route of having kids etc)
why this term policy is so cheap? I want to buy life insurance term policy. did a survey and found that aegonreligare term policy is very cheap for Rs. 5000000 compared to other insurers. What is the reason? Which term policy I should buy? Which company offers best term policy in India? Is it ok to go for a cheapest term policy as exclusions and other conditions are same for pure term policy.
Cheap Life Insurance? So I need a life insurance, and I don't know what term, universal, and whole life insurance is. I don't really have a budget, just under 300 dollars per year I guess. By the way I'm 13.
Looking for cheap & crappy life insurance.? I am looking for sources of *REALLY* cheap life insurance. I have to have life insurance for the next six years (declining each year), while I pay off a structured legal settlement. I don't care about financial stability of the company or a history of hassling the beneficiaries to collect. I don't care about guaranteed renewability, as if I'm not insurable, I don't have to buy the insurance. All I care about is price and that the policy comes with an official receipt that will satisfy their lawyers. Websites such as INSweb typically only offer 5-year term or longer, and I want cheaper than that.
Does a 1 year old child needs life insurance? I f he needs life insurance, which is a better pick, a term life insurance or a participating whole life insurance since premiums are very cheap and he can have her plans paid up in a short period of time using self liquidating option?
What's the best term life insurance to go with? I think I need around $250K. I'm 47. Healthy. Don't smoke. Best company? Cheapest? There are so many choices out there its confusing.
Purpose of limited premium payment life insurance? What is the purpose of limited premium payment term life insurance? Is it so that the insurance companies can get hold of your premiums over a shorter period, or does it actually work out cheaper in the longer term for the policyholder? I appreciate that you may chose the premium term to be limited if you are close to retirement, but let's ignore that case for now.
Does anyone have experience or a Term Life insurance with Asteron recovery? I've researched and have a insurance agent quoting me on Term life $500,000 include trauma buy back for $100,000 for annual premium cost of $1,821.91 monthly $160.00 for level. The insurance agent says this is level until aged 65yrs then becomes stepped. I read somewhere on yahoo, that a Term insurance is not ongoing, as it stipulates there is a term of so many years and if there's no death there's no payout, can anyone confirm this. We're waiting on the paperwork next, this seems to be the cheapest premium I can find for my 48yr husband. Having second thoughts, as I need someones opinion who has experience with policies to let me know what I need to watch out for. Thank you for any guidance.
Does anyone know a good, cheap life insurance company? And what's the best kind of ins. to take out? I know there's term and whole..which is better to use? I don't plan on dieing anytime soon.
Life insurance rates in CA vs TX? for the same coverage (i.e. $500K 30 years term life) is life insurance cheaper in CA or in TX? We are going to be moving to TX in the next couple of months, and we want to buy life insurance. I'd like to know if we are better of buying it here in CA or wait till we get to TX.
Term LIfe Insurance, amount and duration? Few questions about term life insurance: I am 24 married with a mortgage, and 2 kids. First the amount of insurance: I have been told two different ways to look at this: a)buy as much insurance now as I can because it will be cheaper when you are young and can "grow into it." When Im older and need more insurance the rates my be higher to purchase a higher amount. b) buy just what you may need to pay off mtg and put the kids through school. With the thinking that it will be cheaper and put more money in my pocket now, and my needs will change over time and later I can get a great amount of insurance later if needed. Then the duration: I have heard just buy 10 year as it is cheaper now and rates will decrease with time and your needs will change, and I dont want to be locked into a higher rate. But what if I am in worse health 10 years from now and the rates are higher? But others say buy 30 years because you will have the certainty of having the same rate for 30 years. Thanks
Confused about Life Insurance Plans...HELP!!? I want to get a life insurance plan for my family, My boyfriend and I are 22 years old. We have a 4 year old son. Im so confused about what kind of life insurance plan i should go with. Whole Life or Term. I was looking up whole life on Gerber Life Insurance and for $25,000 it would be about $25 dollars a month. even though 25,000 isn't alot thats all i can afford right now. If i did this can i increase the amount when i get financially secure? Also i read that Term life insurance is cheaper if i did go with this would i be able to change it to Whole Life insurance? Im so confused. which plan is right for a young family? If you know of any good Companies please let me know.
Term life insurance - which is a good company? I have home and car insurance with Allstate for many years. Now, I am looking for term life insurance. I know exactly how much term life insurance I need. Do you know which one is better and cheaper company? I did some research and it looks like Prudential, Allstate, New York Life and State Farm are good companies. One of the criteria I have is that company should be there and should provide good service to my beneficiary if I die during insurance period. Does insurance agent (how good or bad) matter? Or once I decide to a company, then can I go to any agent or should I look for something specific in selecting the agent?
Universal Life Policies? I have two universal life insurance policies--one on myself and one on my wife. I have had these policies since 1996. In the summer of 2009 I borrowed against the policies because I had a money shortage due to disability. I would really just like to drop thes policies altogether because I am looking for a cheaper term life insurance ploicy. Can I just drop the policies without repaying the loan? I haven't paid the premiums for the last several months. Will I be held liable for repaying the loan if I discontinue the policies? Any help would be appreciated.
The cost of term life insurance? Has the cost of life insurance gone up, down or stayed level over the last 20 years? My wife wants to get a policy for our 11 month old so his rate stays the same incase he comes down with a major disease or something. I know it is really cheap for say a 22 year old to get a 100K policy that is in good health. So I wonder. The odds of something major happening are slim ( no know family history of anything) and we could use that money to add to his 529, IRA (when he starts working) ect... What's everyones take?
I'm trying to decide between 20 vs 30 year term life insurance policy? I want to buy a Term Life Ins Policy for the purpose of leaving some money for my kids once I'm gone. I am a healthy 55 yr old fem. I'm considering a $250K policy. For a 20-year term it is $59.72/mo. For a 30-term it is $198.52/mo. Let's assume that I will live beyond the 30 yrs. At that time I will have to buy another term or convert to whole life, and most likely have to get another med exam (at age 75 or 85). Which term policy would be cheaper in the long run? I am considering a smaller policy ($100K) for 30 years at $92/mo to save money. What should I do?
term life insurance.....need some help? ING offer term for 15yrs($500,000 coverage). ($17.06/month) is that cheap or expensive??? i'm about to 32yrs old on oct. any ideas?? which company offer less....i don't need any cash back...i think its too expensive. i just need some back up if something happen to me my son his covered.
term vs. whole life insurance? I'm starting to look into life insurance, but am wondering which one is the best option. I see that term is cheaper and I can locked into 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. But then I am seeing whole life insurance, and its more expensive, and I see that if i need money one day, i can withdrawal some of it, from that insurance. But I'm just wondering......... Thanks.....
Which life insurance plan is cheaper? a)Term Plan b) Endowment C) ULIP? II will appreciate if someone could provide an illustration onan excel sheet.
reg. Term Insurance Policy - Private or LIC? Hi, I am looking to compare pure Term Life Insurance policies between private companies and LIC. I find that the Private company Insurance premiums are very cheap when compared to LIC. For eg. for the same amount of premium I get 50 lakhs cover for 25 years whereas with LIC I get only 25 lakhs cover for 25 years. Can you suggest me whether to take a Term insurance from Private or from LIC to cover my family. The problem here is that the person taking the insurance will not be there and the family members should not be put in to trouble for getting the claim. Pl. send your advice. Thank you.
Why it is cheaper for an 18 year old to buy life insurance than it is for a 40 year old? why it is cheaper for 40 year old to buy automobile insurance than it is for an 18 year old? why some people prefer term insurance even though it does not have any cash in value? why other people prefer straight life insurance even though it is more expensive than term? why it pay to buy fire insurance for your home or apartment even though you may never have a fire? why a healthy person still needs health insurance?
term life and term life with return of premium? Hello, my husband and I are in the market for life insurance now. If you could enlighten me about the following I would appreciate it very much. Are most term policies the same (I can just compare premium quotes, or are there differences that I should look into? If so what?). With an online quote system, some of the best quotes (=cheapest) for term life came from Beliastar life insurance co/ING, Genworth life and annuity insurance co, West coast life/protective life corp, American General Life, Transamerica Life/AEGON. I’ve never heard of any of them. Do they seem like credible companies? They are all rated as A or above by “A.M. Best” (according to the website). Also, what do you all think about return of premium term life policies? Do we typically actually receive ALL of the premium, or are there any fees etc. subtracted from the refunded amount? We still have almost 30 years of mortgage, and 20 years of raising our son. In this case, would you try to get a 20 year term policy and then if no death occurs, buy another coverage for 10 years (remaining mortgage years) for smaller amount covered? Or would you buy 30 year term although you wouldn’t need that much towards the end of 30 years? (We’re 40-45 years old right now.) Or buy 25 year return of premium term policy and pay 5 more years of mortgage using the money we receive from return of premium? In reading various websites, I saw posts in Kiplinger about having term to cover mortgage or education cost, and then have a permanent policy for a smaller amount you may need for retirement years. I’m still not clear why you need life insurance for retirement, after kids are independent and mortgage are paid off. Is this "perm life for retirement years" idea for the money for my spouse to receive after I die, or for me to pull out to live on after retirement? Thank you for your help! Thank you so much for your responses! If someone could suggest finding a list of A+ rated companies that work in my state, that would be greatly appreciated. What do people think of State Farm for term/term ROP life insurance? Also, does ROP term insurance give you investment returns in addition to the amount of premium you paid? Thank you! I found the following list that's supposed to be the best life insurance companies at this website. http://www.lifeinsurancestar.com/lifeinsurance/company-ratings.php * New York Life: A++, stable outlook * Mass Mutual: A++, stable outlook * State Farm: A++, stable outlook * Geico: A++, stable outlook Does this mean I should probably check out these companies? And that's State Farm is a good company for life insurance? I also thought Geico didn't offer life insurance. I was led to LifeQuotes page from Geico, that's actually where I received my online quotes (and list of companies that I listed above). Does this mean that this list is not reliable? Sorry to have so many questions. I'll organize remaining questions and re-start a fresh question later, but this additional question for now. I was using some calculator online (Kiplinger, Life Foundation?) to calculate how much coverage I need, and they both returned figures like 1+ million. How can this be? Is 1 million life insurance common these days? We only have 170,000 in remaining mortgage balance (actually I only included half of that in calculation), and I calculated monthly living expense to be 2000-3000 (depending on if our child is still with us)/month with my spouse's income to be 2000/month, and also included college cost. Does this seem reasonable that this will add up to be million dollars in 30 years, with inflation? Thank you, you knowledgeable folks!
Is there a way to self annuitize one's investment? I've looked at fixed income annuities straight life, and guaranteed 10 year payouts. Is there a way one can buy private term life insurance cheap enough to allow a straight life annuity with the first 10 years covered by term life insurance? I'm hoping the self purchase of term life insurance will give me a better monthly payout than the 10 year guarantee annuity by the annuity company.
Why online Insurance policy are cheaper than offline? Do they have any difference in type of cover they give? It is observed premium paid on life insurance term policies are Much cheaper than offline. Is it only because of agents commission or there is difference in type of coverage?
How do you feel about a public life insurance option? It's not fair that healthy people can get a cheap term policy while others can't even get one at all. Plus, when a person died we could turn their families into millionaires. Obama can print more money to cover it.
If you needed life insurance would you "rent" it or buy it? Term insurance vs permanent insurance, one is cheap but is pure insurance, you do not build cash value, the other is more expensive and builds cash value over time. One is betting you will die, the other is betting you will live.
Which is better, term or whole life insurance? My husband seems to lean towards whole life because the premium is cheaper and cash value is built? I lean towards term because when I was working in private banking, that was what was recommended. $70,000 term for $20 a week $52,xxx whole life for $15 a week Thank you. I will show this to my husband. Thank you. My husband wants me to have some money in case something happens to him. If we want to cover the mortgage then we would need about $100,000. I could cover the balance on my own. His concern about term was the time line. I believe he said 10 years. This is from work. No health exam is required. Since he is in good health, should we insist on having a health exam? Could that bring the cost down? I don't know much about the whole life policy. I know to look out for anything that says guaranteed, especially when about investments. Thank you. I spent time in financial services and was introduced to insurance. That was years ago now though. We don't have pension. We have 401K plans. I also have some IRAs (roth & simple).
Life Insurance? I was considering buying Life Insurance now because I thought it would be much cheaper than to buy it when I start to get older. I don't know anything about insurance, I know there is term life insurance then there is universal or something. I am 18 years old, I don't smoke and rareley drink. If it jhelps to know, I have never been diagnosed with any sort of disease. My grandfather did have prostate cancer, I'm not sure if that is relevant and my other grandparents both died of heart attacks in there 40s. How much do you think would it cost for, whenever I die, a 1 Million dollar life insurance policy. Thanks for all of the answers everyone, I didn't expect so many good ones. Although I feel I'm still a little confused maybe I'll consult an insurance agent, because I'm still uncertain which type of insurance is the best for me, I pretty much think that term life insurance is not good for me because even if I bought a 30 years term policy and I live past my 48th birthday I'll get nothing from it.
I'm 24 and married. Do I need Term AND Perm life insurance? My financial advisor advised me to sign up for a $400+/yr term plan (20 yrs I believe) and a $1100+/yr perm (whole life) policy for $300,000. (I don't recall which one this figure is for). I read that term is much better and is actually much cheaper than even the figure my advisor quoted me. As little detail as I provided, and my goals in life are pretty average (e.g., nothing special!), do I need both policies or should I only get term? On another note, what upset me with them is that our new planners didn't even give us time to think about what we wanted before shoving papers in our faces. So, are they right or wrong for selling us both these policies for a 24 y/o married couple (I'm 24, she's 23). ...and, should I keep my financial advisor? :-D Thanks! BTW, my wife works full-time as well and plans to continue after having kids (and of course taking some time off), so she won't be jobless her entire life.
Why do I need Life Insurance? I have been doing some research on Life Insurance but I am still new to this. In my situation I am 30 years old and I have life insurance through work and it is really cheap. From doing all this reading, There is one thing I do not understand. Why do I need life insurance from an insurance company when I have life insurance from work. I guess the argument would be "What if you loose your job?" And my answer would be if I loose my job, hopefully I can find another one and the new job will offer life insurance. And if I cant find another job for an extended period of time I can look into a term life policy. Is life insurance expensive if you get it from work. For my company that's not the case because its a big company and we get really good benefits. But not sure about other companies.
Do we need to deregulate the health insurance industry? Insurance companies are one of the most regulated industries on the planet. Instead of putting in place a Universal Healthcare System, should we model health insurance around the life insurance model in place today? If we deregulate the insurance industry and allowed competition across state lines, it would be affordable. You can have whole health that grows in value until you need it like whole life. You buy it young to get the cheap rates. You have term health that can be bought in 1 year, 5 year, 10 year or 20 year increments like term life. Premiums would be based upon the policy you choose and a physical exam. 1 year term health would be the cheapest and would cover the basic healthcare and the cost adjusts every year we get older. Whole health would be the most expensive and if you didn't use the entire policy when you die, the retained value passes onto your children or spouse. To me this makes sense vs. UHC. Thoughts?
Postal Life Insurance in India? It is a well known fact that PLI policies under its various forms / schemes are the cheapest as compared to all the other Life Insurance Companies products. The resons are simple i.e. No exhorbitant / fat Commissions to "Agents" and very low administration costs. However, the Postal authorities should now introduce PURE TERM PLAN which is the most desirable & cheapest form of Life Insurance. Whom to contact for this ?
Can a Republican who is Pro-Life explain how you can support the Insurance companies who pay for Abortions? Can a Republican who is Pro-Life explain how you can support the Insurance companies who pay for Abortions ? When by their own internal memo's and emails they admit that they gladly pay for Abortions because they are much cheaper than "Full Term Pregnancies". Pro-Life does NOT equal Anti-Health Care Reform! Can a Republican who is Pro-Life explain how you can support the Insurance companies who pay for Abortions?
What can an individual buy from Aetna in the state of Indiana? I want to qualify for an Aetna Healthy Living Visa card, but one of the requirements is that I have to be an Aetna customer. Is there anything that an individual (not company) can buy from Aetna in the state of Indiana? Preferably something cheap like a term life policy or one of those child-life-insurance-policy things. If so, how do I find an agent that sells Aetna? My reason is that the card offers 3% cash back on medical, and I charge a LOT of medical, and could mean a lot of cash back.
What kind of life insurance should we buy for our kids? We have had a policy on our 17 year old for years, pay about $15 a quarter for it and I think it is some kind of hybrid between term and whole life. We have neglected to buy policies for our sons, 9 and 12 except for the coverage provided as a benefit from my husband's employer;. A nice lady at church put together policies for our boys and they are whole life for $212 a year, or about $20 a month! After our daughter's policy, I had not planned to incur a $40 per month expense. I want to preserve out boy's insurability. Can I do that with cheaper term? http://susilobambangyudhoyono.cn/health-insurance.html

please help...trying to figure out how to get money to bury me when I die and need insurance info? I am disabled living way under the poverty line. I have only $150 or 200 after bills for food and gas and stuff. We, on medicaid, are allowed $1500 in assets. We are allowed to have term life insurance but not whole life ins.. My mom just died and we were discussing it and my son was kind of mean and said I would get the state funeral (which is only $200) and that I wanted all these extras and it would be cheap..I said what extras and he said a coffin and a gravestone (he did apologize)..I think they will try but they do not have extra money even though they both do fairly well, I assume they have a lot of bills. Since a lady in my building's son was just killed, I heard they did not have insurance or money and no funeral home would take him and he just stayed in the morgue. I am trying to figure out what to do..my son works for nationwide insurance and said no one will cover me due to health problems. I am 57 years old. I heard some term life insurance does not require an exam or questions. But the ones I see all say you must basically die within a certain window of time..if you die too soon..not covered...if you live past a certain age..not covered..are they any insurances that do not require a medical exam and a bunch of questions that does not have a window of when you must die..or could my kids get a policy on me that the SSI would not know about and say I can not have (as they only let you have term)..I do not want to draw on it just give me peace of mind at least a little will be paid to help my kids, I figure I might live at least 20 years...would they be able to get a policy on me with less than perfect health..does anyone have any suggestions or know where I might find a low premium policy that does not expire and covers you no matter how old you are at death or have some suggestion. I do have a car that takes some of the $1500 asset limits up but nothing else. Edit to secret user..I posted this in response to some things my son said today...he seems angry I do not have insurance and made some kind of mean comments that made me feel bad. He did say he shouldn't have said that & I left as he was grouchy again and ever since I have been worried..I researched on line what do they do for poor people and it said something they are used for crash dummies and medical cadavers and I don't want that but to bury you (the state) noone will claim you and they would never do that, so I guess they will bury me but now I feel awful like I am a big burden..they usually are very generous but funerals cost a lot and I know my son wants cremated but I don't want that. I think I will see if they can open a savings account and I will put a little in it a month and try to convince them to also..if I live 20 years plus, it will be something at least. I am nowhere near death's door and plan on living long but I am recently beginning diabetes and I was dating a man in his early 40's diagnosed one uyear with diabetes and he died from it so you never know but I plan on tryig to work on my lifestyle and reverse some of these illnesses. My son has a tendency to say hurtful things. This kills me as I was a very good mom and did way beyond the "call of duty" with them. I was faithful, tried, and reared them with no help from their dad and then he cheats and divorces me and is like the good guy or something..I am broke due to my choices to put them first and then health problems..I tried..I went to college after my ex left me and got a degree and a 3.9 GPA...life just did not turn out how I hoped. I have been worrying about this for three hours. thanks for your kindness. I think you are right..somehow they will manage it and I am worrying about it needlessly..I am so tired of everything happening..life is so hard You are a good woman..thanks EDIT My son assured me since they will pay for my funeral and assured me with good god mom why do you always panic. we asren't going to cart you off to the medical lab or to be a crash dummies. I just want you to understand you are going to have to have the cheapest funeral they havre sheesh! I feel relieved but may still start a savings account to make small deposits in to help some. I guess I will forget insurance as term is not a good deal. If you do not die by a certain age you have nothing and lose it all better to put it into a savings account and I would not be able to get whole due to exam, cost, and the state rules. I do have giood kids sometimes and shouldn't have got panicy cause he was in his usual bad mood. ps--the amount edicaid pays in some cases only is about $200 BTW
Who offers cheaper and better term life insurance than Primerica? We just had a Primerica representative come in our house and try to tell us why we need life insurance. I do agree my wife and I would like a term life insurance plan, but am not sure if I want to go with Primerica. They are not the cheapest and I read some good and bad things about them. Can anyone recommend some alternative companies? How is Transamerica? They seem to pop up in the top 10 insurance company list a lot.
Life insurance is preferred by people which is costlier in terms of payment.why not personal accidentis opted? personal accident policy is cheaper which has table of benefits costing around 200rs/lac.Life insurance proves to be costlier in terms of premium&in long run.whereas general insurance is short term contract costless too
Should I buy Whole Life Insurance??? I am looking as this a way to invest, I know that term is cheap. My wife and I both have a good income in our 30's and contribute our max $15.5K/year to our 401K's. To meet our retirement goals, we'll likely need another 1 million at 65. I've heard a lot of people say stay away from whole life, but I think it's the only way for us with high incomes to invest after our 401K's. My NW Mutual rep wants to sell me Variable Life, saying their average returns have been around 8% (and tax free). What do you think??
Does anyone know a good, cheap life insurance? And what's the best kind of ins. to take out? I know there's term and whole..which is better to use? I don't plan on dieing anytime soon.
Who has the best price for term life insurance for a 58 year old female? I need to get my wife some life insurance. If something were to happen I don't have the money to cover her funeral expenses. I should have done this years ago but thought I was the only one that needed it as I would probably die first. As we are getting older I see this was stupid thinking on my part as insurance was cheaper when we were younger. Any help on which companies to check will be appreciated.
need some opinions on term life insurance? so I am 35, husband 34. we have 2 kids(2 and 9 months) and 25 years left on our mortgage. had medical exams come back. I am preferred plus ( cheap as heck) husband came back standard (weight and cholesterol) I originally wanted 250,000 policies, but with my husbands rating that would be like 50 dollars a month alone. The last thing I want to do is go broke paying for insurance. Is a 20 or 30 year better for us? would 150,000 policy be okay. thank you
Can I get low cost life insurance? Hi. My ex hubby and I got divorced in 1997, but he always had an insurance policy on me from his job. Recently he got remarried and he told my son to tell me that he no longer has any life insurance on me. I am a female age 52, a little overweight, I have diabetes and hypertension. Also, I never smoked. What kind of life insurance can I get? Also, is term or whole life better? I know that term is cheaper. Please help... I don't want to burden my sons with this when I pass.

has anyone here ever considered the idea of life extension through Alcor? just today I nearly died. choked on a big piece of steak, deep in my throat. I was alone and there wasn't anyone to help me so after about 40 seconds I didn't have many other options so I actually pulled it out of my own throat with my fork (yes my throat hurts, no I'm not bleeding.... yes go see a doc. I know) but anyhow, it left me thinking, this would be WAY to early to die and for that matter, anytime is too early. so, I considered to actually pursue my wonder of being sent to alcor http://www.alcor.org/ in the untimely event of my death and go ahead and play roulette with the idea of wasting money or winning and living again afterwards. so my question is..... has anyone here seriously considered alcor and if you have, whats a cheap option to go with and whats a "living member" and their fees? term, whole or adjustable life insurance? too much legal talk for me here. http://www.alcor.org/BecomeMember/sdfunding.htm yeah, slow down. I think I got that one down now. a bum with no "current" education............ interesting don't you think they might want to parade me around like a circus freak, and feeding me (maybe not steak though) the life insurance is a method of direct payment alcor ONLY in the event of my death (about 70,000 I think with 180,000 left over to go to my kids) plus I make a hefty Interest on the policy too. yeah. it was weird sliding the fork down calmly and smoothly as I couldn't breath and was panicking.. I really didn't care what kind of damage I caused though. perhaps sword swallowing isn't that bad of a career choice at this point
if my mom passed away and she has a loan out that she had a ch. 13 bankruptsy on can i get it written off? she signed off on the term life insurance and owes 6000 on the truck. i can go in and pay it off but i want to make sure there isnt some way i can get it cheaper or written off. she lived in illinois and she died 2 years ago. the bank hasnt had a payment since and hasnt tried to repo it either... i am a bit suspitious about that. Why is it cheaper to get term life insurance as a business or through a business than as an individual? It seems much more costly to buy direct as an individual than thru my company. Is my company getting a tax credit/discount? Should I form an LLC to get the same discounted value?

If you needed life insurance would you "rent" it or buy it? Term insurance vs permanent insurance, one is cheap but is pure insurance, you do not build cash value, the other is more expensive and builds cash value over time. One is betting you will die, the other is betting you will live.
What is the cheapest term life insurance and what do you have to go thru in order to get it? ? What is the cheapest term life insurance and what do you have to go thru in order to get it? ?
Primerica (Citibank)? First off, i DO NOT need comments like how Primerica is a scam or w/e. What i'm interested in is whether the products that Primerica sells is as reliable as they say. For example: $MART Loans. Is it really as good as they make it sound? Life Insurance: is it really cheaper then other companies? What about other term insurance? Investments: is their Rate of Return as high as they say it is? Why can they reach these high rates and can these high rates only be obtained by Primerica or is there other methods of getting these rates? RRSP: how do they help with the tax refund and wouldn't a tax accountant be able to do all of these things for you? Last thing... i would also like to know where you are when you answer this. Primerica is all over the world so i would like to know where this is coming from. Thank you very much
What kind of life insurance should we buy for our kids? We have had a policy on our 17 year old for years, pay about $15 a quarter for it and I think it is some kind of hybrid between term and whole life. We have neglected to buy policies for our sons, 9 and 12 except for the coverage provided as a benefit from my husband's employer;. A nice lady at church put together policies for our boys and they are whole life for $212 a year, or about $20 a month! After our daughter's policy, I had not planned to incur a $40 per month expense. I want to preserve out boy's insurability. Can I do that with cheaper term?
Which Pet insurers offer life cover? We have just got a 8 weeks old puppy ridgeback. We're now looking for insurance compaines. We have two maine coon cats that are covered via PetPlan (life cover). I know ther are cheap insurers out there like tesco and such, but they will only cover an illness once for 12 months, so if it is dignosed with a long term illness its going to cost a bit! Can anyone give alernate insurance companies that offer the same deal as petplan?
Can anyone help with dog insurance? Hi everyone, I need some help understanding the mumbo-jumbo that is pet insurance policies. We have a 15 month old working cocker spaniel bitch who is not neutered. We have been looking at pet insurance and have been given a couple of quotes. The PDSA have been the cheapest so far at £7 a month for their middle package. I am having trouble understanding firstly what is meant by voluntary veterinary fee excess and compulsory excess which is £75. Also will the insurance company pay for us to get the pooch neutered at all? or does it just cover emergency bills. Is pet insurance generally a good idea? Or can it be a total scam? Thanks guys, really need this explained in real life scenario terms :)
Any REALISTIC ideas how we can scale back our budget? Here's a breakdown of my husband and my monthly obligations: Mortgage: $1206 Car payments: $466 Electric: $120 Natural gas: $66 Verizon: $70 Cable/phone/internet: $80 Water/waste disposal: $75 Life insurance: $85 Auto insurance: $174 Student loans: $120 Credit card: $51 Currently, my husband is getting a lot of overtime, and we are bringing home $4,400 a month. However, in June his overtime will end for about 8 months, and his income will settle back down to approx. $3,000 per month. Both of these figures are after health insurance, taxes, and our 401(k) contribution of 4%. I am extremely grateful that we are making what we are in this terrible economy, but it's very frustrating because once the overtime ends, we will just be making it, with room for few extras, and I just don't know what else we can cut down/cut out. Our mortgage is not going to change; in fact, it could very well go up if our homeowner's insurance premium goes up or our city decides to raise the real estate tax; We owe 3 more years on our cars, and $466 TOTAL between both payments is quite cheap, and it's silly to trade one of our cars in for something cheaper since we have already paid so much on them, so there's not much to do with that; Our natural gas, electric, and water bills are right on par with the local average - we are very conscious of our lights, heat, and water usage, and can't cut these bills back anymore without major discomfort; We are in the middle of a 2 year contract with Verizon and are on the cheapest plan available (they actually don't even offer our plan anymore... we are grandfathered. The cheapest plan currently for two lines is $20 extra a month); Our phone/cable/internet bill cannot be reduced - I work at home and depend on the house phone, since my husband and I share a mere 500 peak minutes on our cells, our cable is the minimum package at $12 a month - basically just prevents us from needing rabbit ears, and our internet is the cheapest available in our area; We just acquired life insurance, which is $50,000 each whole and $100,000 each term - that's a necessity, especially since we are 23 and 24 and locked in our rate for life; Our auto insurance could be lowered by upping our deductible to $500, but I called and asked about it, and it would only make a $30 difference every 6 months, which doesn't seem worth it considering we'd be upping our deductibles so much. The student loan... well, there's not much we can do about that. We could get it financed for more than the standard 10 years, but then you are just spending SO much extra money in interest. We have recently paid off $1,100 furniture, $500 department store charge, $1,500 Best Buy, $1,600 on my credit card, and now all we have left is my husband's credit card, which has a $3,000 balance. Most of this debt was from early in our marriage and we decided quickly that we didn't want to carry debt, so we have been working hard to pay it off. Before my husband's overtime ends, we will have paid the credit card completely off. So... any realistic ideas of how we might cut our expenses? All the articles on the internet are so cheesy or unrealistic. For instance, I'm not in dire enough of a situation to reduce my heat to 60 degrees! -- OUR income will be $3,000. Not just his. The insurance deductible reduction would only lower my auto insurance $30 every SIX months, not every month. I wish it'd lower it $30 per month! :)

Is Michael Moore a Moron or does that title belong to Roman Polanski? Friday, October 2, 2009 MOVIE REVIEW: 'Capitalism: A Love Story' Sonny Bunch Michael Moore's new film, "Capitalism: A Love Story," chronicles the galling excesses of our modern economy in brutal detail, jumping from home foreclosures to businesses cashing in on life insurance policies they had taken out on their dead employees to bank bailouts to million-dollar-bonuses paid out to executives of failed banks. As he comes to a crashing, triumphant crescendo, the merry prankster of modern moviemaking says he wants to get rid of capitalism and replace it with a better, fairer, more just system — democracy! Democracy? It's a head scratcher. One doesn't replace an economic system with a political system. Saying you want to replace "capitalism" with "democracy" is like saying you want to replace "public transit" with "puppy dogs." It's not quite right. It's obvious why he chose such a malapropism: "Socialism" is what Mr. Moore is really after, but that's a far more disturbing word to the average American. He wants to replace one sacred-yet-secular American word (capitalism) with another sacred-yet-secular American word (democracy), fully obscuring that neither word means anything close to its dictionary definition in Mr. Moore's worldview. To Mr. Moore, capitalism isn't an economic system that has delivered billions around the globe from poverty and subsistence existences by virtue of the profit motive. No, to him, capitalism is an exploitative sham, an economic system designed to deliver money from the poor into the hands of the wealthy. If he had stuck to the recent bailouts of the banking industry, he might have had a point. Unfortunately, he spends much of the movie flying far afield of that travesty. And that's the main problem with Mr. Moore's movie: His focus is too diffuse, his aim too scattershot. It's old hat for the director to argue only one side of the story, but this is the first time he has so blatantly failed to focus on the primary issue at hand, flailing, instead, at all the wrong targets. Consider Mr. Moore's take on the foreclosure crisis: He sympathetically portrays two families who have gone through foreclosed after failing to meet their repayment obligations. Foreclosure is a terrible thing, something no family should have to suffer — unless, of course, they fail to repay the money that has been lent to them. Credit is a bedrock of capitalism, but credit comes with certain responsibilities. Banks are not charitable institutions, and there have to be consequences for failing to pay back the money they advance. The subprime loan crisis was caused only in part by banks lending money to unqualified borrowers: No less complicit were the irresponsible citizens who took out far more money than they could afford on terms they could not possibly understand. In a way, Mr. Moore and his ilk are the ones ultimately responsible for this crisis. By turning homeownership into a basic societal entitlement — irrespective of credit-worthiness — they encouraged the poor to borrow recklessly and leaned on lenders to give money even more recklessly. Mr. Moore's suggested solutions to the crisis of capitalism are almost as absurd as his diagnoses. As the film draws to a close, he asks us to reconsider Franklin D. Roosevelt's second bill of rights, and one of those rights in particular jumps out: the guarantee of a job with a "living wage." This has been a constant bugaboo of Mr. Moore's. He thinks General Motors Corp. — faced with competition from cheaper, better, more fuel-efficient vehicles from Japan and elsewhere — has shot itself in the foot. Not because it refused to build better cars or agreed to a back-breaking deal with the labor unions that made the cars too expensive, mind you. No, Mr. Moore seems to think GM has come to ruin because it has laid off too many employees, leaving the once thriving cities of the Midwest, including his hometown, Flint, Mich., wastelands with no business prospects. Let us think about this for a moment, shall we? GM automobiles are too expensive and too fuel-inefficient. They carry massive legacy costs providing health care benefits and pensions to both current and past employees of now-defunct plants. Increased plant efficiency and decreased need for labor are trumped by union demands to preserve jobs, resulting in excess workers collecting most of their pay for what amounts to make-work. Yet GM should guarantee these people's jobs and gold-plated benefits? Or the government should step in and subsidize inefficient companies to pay now-redundant employees? Mr. Moore has always been long on provocative questions and short on answers. "Capitalism" is no different: He suggests a bright and shiny future without adequately examining the likely consequences of such a future or offering much in the way of proposals for bringing it to life — other than sophomoric pranks like showing up at a bank headquarters to
Why would man men want to get married these days what is the benefit ? Hi here is the question Why Would a Single Strait sexually normal man/men want to get married at all? These days there are way more cost then benefits for men to get married? 1)Jewelry is expensive A) engagements B) Wedding C) Holladay’s New Year, Christmas, Every Anniversary, Mothers day while child is still not smart enough to make a gift 2)Wedding cost some over 100K and that’s want women want so they will remember the wedding for the rest of their life ! 3):Trips / Tourism After Wedding, and Probably at least once every year for the whole family, Counting Air fair, Sleeping in Motel / Hotels , Restaurants 4)Once your married Your also responsible for your wife’s finance problems College Cost that has not been paid off, Credit Cards debt, and Your Credit Score is autumnally impacted by her credit score , as hers is impacted / effected by yours score BECAUSE YOUR MARRIED !!! 5)Separations : These days it is very conman for people to separate temporarily instead of arguing or solving problems. Which is smart and dome at the same time! By the way during all the time your separated your partner could be cheating on you !!! 6)Clothing Cost : I admit living as a woman is difficult and costly but once any guy gets married, his clothing cost will probably triple that is 3 times more then you spend when you were single. This does not count cost of any child dippers, and clothes that sizes and style will be changing every 6 months . 7)Health Care insurance service , Co-pay is Sky rocketing !!! these days unless Obama solves the national healthcare problem! 8)EXTRAS : this includes Make-up, Laundry, Auto, Auto Insurance, Additional services like SPA / Fitness, Restaurants, shopping in malls and online, Additional Cell phone lines, Text message, and other similar cost. 9)AND EVENTUALLY there is the College cost for each student, whether a responsible parent puts 4% of each pay-check to a Saving account for each child’s long term education, or Barrows money form bank when the time comes, to give each child the opportunity to get Bachelors Degree or Masters 10)Now if anyone thinks sex is the main reason to get into long term relationship, I think that is one expensive sex comparing what all the cost you have to go through, and masturbating can be each cheap way to solve the problem, and buying hookers would be even cheaper make life so much easier ! 11)There is no guarantee that wife will stay will you in long term, look over 50% USA population gets divorced at least once in the live time, and if child has divorced parents their probability of getting divorced is 7/10 ; so future generations will only have higher % of families getting divorced ! 12)Long term expectation: If people are likely going to get divorced, then you can not rely or expect 100% confidence that you Partner will stay and support you until, no matter even if you get sick until you die. Like said during marriage ceremony. NOW TELL ME THE BENEFITS, WHY exactly SHOULD any MEN MAN Be looking for long term series Relationship after reading all the above?

And so true in so many ways. I just wanted to share and possibly brighten someone's day. We'll see if it gets deleted......
Brutal honesty needed! What would be the best choice for her -- have a baby or not? Let's say a girl is 26 yrs old, a responsible law abiding "goody two shoes", and has wanted kids for a few years now since the miscarriage she had at age 23. The girl earned her Bachelors degree 3-4 yrs ago. The girl was working full-time as an assistant office manager. It was a job that had a lot of impressive responsibilities, and it paid enough to cover costs of living, although the pay wasn't exactly huge...about $29K/yr. She recently got laid off but is receiving unemployment + still working at a parttime waitressing job she's held on the side for extra money/back-up. Her unemployment + waitressing job provides enough money to pay the bills and still have extra spending money and some for savings too. Financially she is sound. She has very good credit and always pays bills ahead of time. She has 0 revolving debt and she paid off her car loan 3.5yrs ahead of schedule. The only debt she has is a $100/mo student loan at a fixed 3% interest rate. The girl has been living on her own(away from home) for several years now. She rents a 1bd apartment(although she might move to a place that's bigger and cheaper soon). She is really hoping to land a new, better paying job sometime soon so that she can qualify to buy a house in the next year or two. She is law-abiding, straight edge, nonpartying. She rarely stays up past midnight, let alone parties! She is one of those "been there, done that" people that experimented and got in trouble when she was younger but is well past that. She has been in a committed relationship with a very sweet guy for 6-12 months now. Her boyfriend is a Christian, in his late 30s, has a very good career, owns a house, and is an all-around good catch. His only big flaw is that he's "like a wall", not very open to discuss what he wants long-term in a relationship. Although she lives in a city of a.holes(her city was literally voted #1 rudest city in a recent survey lol), she has a few close friends she can trust. Her direct family lives about an hour away but they're compassionate and supportive of her. She has a few uncles and grandparents that live 10-20 mins away. She is overall in good health, STD free, and has an individual health insurance PPO. She is pro-life, at least for her own self. She constantly tells her friends that she wants to start having kids before she hits 30. However, she has a huge inferiority complex stemming from the time she was pregnant at 23 and many people tried to talk her into having an abortion. She wants more than anything to have people see her as a responsible, capable, accomplished adult...at times she cares too much what people think of her. She gets jealous and resentful every time she sees pregnant people that are younger and/or less responsible than her getting the support + congrats from people that she never received when she herself was pregnant. She is already pro-life for moral reasons, but peoples' discouragement of her has made her even MORE adamant to not get an abortion, partly to prove them wrong(but that's far from the only reason she'd want kids). If this girl unexpectantly got pregnant, would "this need an abortion", or is it likely she'd be a capable mother? Okay people, the girl I described wants to have a baby before she's 30, so that's why all the hypothetical pregnancy questions are being asked. Just wondering if you think her "pregnant before 30" ambitions are a good idea or not. Slickmickeygal, her waitressing earnings aren't too terrible. She makes (on average) $400/week from two waitressing shifts...not the best wages to raise a kid on, but she also has an extra $350/week unemployment for the next 6 months. She also has savings. Again, not the best financial situation, but not exactly deficient either.
Is it worth it to refinance from a 30 year 6.50% to a 25 year 5.5%? My loan officer recently emailed me and advised me that "Rates have hit a ridiculous low (5.5% on a 30/25 year term and 4/875% on a 15 year term). I am refinancing a lot of people on 25 year loans keeping their payment about the same as it is on their 30 year loan and shaving years off the back of the mortgage. If we refinance your loan from 6.50% even with the Mortgage Insurance your payment will be cheaper and you can have a 25 year term taking almost 4.5 years off the back of the loan." I am currently paying my mortgage bi-weekly and this is said to shave off approx. 7 years off the loan. Also my husband and I would like to refinance but be able to pay a lower house payment rather than shortening the life of the loan, but we don’t necessarily need to go this way either. What would be the best option for us? Also just another piece of information is that we just purchased this home in May 2007 and we have already refinanced one time to get my husbands name on the loan with me.

What do you think of my article? Methadone and Harmd. Is Harmd doing more harm? I am here to write my opinion on HARMD. This means; "Helping America Reduce Methadone Deaths". Although their intentions might be good or in their own mind considered good. H.A.R.M.D. is disseminating lies about the drug Methadone. A co-founder of this organzition experienced a horrible tragedy in regards to the admintration of this drug in a professional medical setting. As the story goes this individuals loved one was addicted to Oxycodone. Upon seeking medical help for this, the Medical facilty gave this person Methadone in conjunction with a benzodiazepiene and this person tragically died as a result of this combination. A dangerous combination. Harmd will tell you absolutely nothing positive about the drug Methadone. Instead of calling it Helping America reduce Methadone Deaths......... They should have called it; "Trying to ban Methadone in America". That seems to me like their goal. And the fact is Methadone save lifes. It makes people that live in chronic pain functioning human beings again. It makes addicts live normal lives. Methadone is not a replacement for Heroin! IN other word's Methadone clinics are there to help these people live normal lives. Harmd's claims on their video's on U-tube openly admit that the onset of the rush of the drug is slow; (Thus sticking their foot in their mouth indicating the drug is used to obtain a high/hence obtaining it for illicit reasons)so the person takes more to get high and doesn't realize a toxic level is increasing in them. METHADONE IS not to be USED to get HIGH or a rush! It is so easy to point the finger at a thing than a person. Methadone does not have a brain, it cannot control how and who or why a person uses it. No one is going to want to admit their son died in a bathroom and was found with a syringe full of cocaine in his arm are they? No one would want to admit their son was a IV cocaine addict. But they can say Methadone killed their kid? Why? Because Methadone is FDA approved? Oxycontins ruined all of this. Oxycontins made regular pill users into full blown junkies. That is how Methadone just became a issue. Funny we never heard about Methadone deaths prior to 1998. Number one; Methadone is a powerful synthetic opiate narcotic! The only people that have business with this drug are addicts that are going to addiction treatment or people that live in chronic pain in pain management. Methadone is not used to take if you have trouble sleeping! It is not used for a headache and it is not used as a spice in making meatloaf! Methadone must be used only by people that are qualified to take it. HARMD states it stays in your system a long time and or but it's pain relief is only 4 to 6 hours. THIS IS FALSE! Methadone's analgesia threshold is 8 or more hours! Methadone has a 24 to 36 hour half life. This indicates that if you consume 10mg's. Exactly 24 hours later you will have 5mg's dormant in you. Thus if you want to maintain this 10mg a day dose, you take 10mg initially and than every day than and there out you take 5 mg's! So on and so fourth. Again a person that is not prescribed Methadone for pain or does not get it in an addiction treatment scenario HAS NO BUSINESS WITH IT! Giving this to a non familiar user that is only using it for a stupid reason is like giving a blind person glass in their dinner. JUst say no to drugs! True facts on Methadone: Methadone is the most sctrunized drug on the planet. No drug , not one in the history of the world has gone under the scrutiny that Methadone has. The drug has been in use since perhaps the mid 60's and this drug has a proven tried and true list of positive virtues in regards to long term effects on the body and almost has a explanation and theory on every dosaging protocol that has ever existed on the planet. I don't believe there is a single case of anyone being allergic to Methadone. All opiates have long term effects on the body. There is nothing but overwhelming evidence that indicates that Methadone is the lightest on all the organs compared to any other opiate. It is the long half life which does not give the body time to recover throughout doses is what I believe makes it the harshest in this aspect. All opiates impede vitamin and mineral absorbtion. Methadone is not excempt from this and because of it's long duration on visiting the body, mineral and vitamins should be used as a supplement. There is not a single drug on the planet that is as healthy as drinking milk or as healthy as eating a apple a day. Eating a bag of Potato chips everyday may actually be worse for your health. The FDA does not tell you the long term effects of MSG to readily. Or the stuff they put in a Big Mac. Methadone is the flattest hitting opiate on the planet. In other word's it maintains a constant blood level throughout a 24 hour period. This is what makes Methadone such a miracle drug for addicts and pain management people. But it is this virtue that HARMD claims it is so dangerous. This is the a paradox of their thinking. Where conventional opaites hit high and rapidly drop, Methadone does not. Therefore a person that is taking conventional opiates for pain eventually will end up abusing them to chase blood levels to keep an existing happy mood in check. This is a real thing that is going on in the brain and it is not in a person's head. So instead of taking more medication for pain relief, they are taking more to keep their mood in check and not pain control. This inadvertantly results in tolerence to the drug very quickly and non-delibarate abuse. With Methadone this is almost non-existant. It is a superior pain reliever by this virtue and dosing twice a day is almost always considered effective as compared to 4 times or more a day by a conventional opiate. It is this aspect of Methadone that also of course makes it a choice for addcition treatment. It keeps the person in check throughout the entire day (Not needing more and more of the opiate) and cancels the so-called mental cravings a opiate addict gets. Methadone in a pain scenario is also a opiate that keeps opiate induced hypersensitivity down to a low. All pain people in time will experience this and it either can be considered a form of withdrawal as more opiates are administered or break-thru pain. Since Methadone maintains a flat blood level and keeps pain receptors filled constantly, this phenomenon is greatly reduced. There are some claim that Methadone does not create opiate induced hypersnsitivity. I think it does and will but the effects are far less apparent. Methadone is the simpliest of all opiate molecular structures. Methadone was developed in Germany (I.G. Farben) under the direction of Herman Goering in mid 40's as a substitute for morphine. It was never intended at the time to be used in opiate addiction. It just happened that way. People in pain management that obtain Methadone for pain are readily sterotyped as ex Heroin addicts because of Methdone's use in addiction centers. Fact: A 40mg Methadone pill( Wafer) was as large as a quarter. And it is thick as two on the eges and in the middle as thick as three quarters stacked. If someone gave you a pill the size of a quarter and told you it was an aspirin, would you be a little apprehensive about it? It was perhaps one of the largest pain pills ever produced and as a aspirin in this form this would be perhaps be a 4,000 MG aspirin? Just saying. The size alone of the 40mg pill should have been a deterrant from anyone abusing it. The truth is, you would have difficulty placing the entire thing in your mouth and swallowing it whole. It was also serated into four sections, not half but quarters. Thus indicating a quarter of the pill could be taken, but people that decided to abuse it, and took the entire thing anyways? Knowing it could be broken in fours? 40 Milligrams are no longer made however the 10's are. The company makes very small 10 mg pills and by eliminating the 40 they should make the 10mg just as large to indicate it looks strong? Who knows. For 10mg's of Methadone is strong! Fact: 10mg's of Methadone is approx. 100 Milligrams of Morphine. Now this varies in IV and other routes of administration how it is metabolized, but for a standard equal it holds primary true. Methadone in a pain scenario prescribed 5mg's a day for three days, than 10 mg's a day for three day's and so on (Until determined the level of pain it is controlling) will never represent a problem with the patient. This patient must be simply monitored to see how they are reacting to the medication as far as fatique, lack of motor coordination, mental awareness for a two week period. The patient decides how they are reacting to the medication. Than they can safely be on the a stable dose of Methadone which is superior in pain control versus anything else. Methadone should not be mixed with alcohol at all! Methadone should not be mixed with any type of Benzodiazepiene. Methadone does not induce "Sleep Driving" like Ambien does. And last HARMD is so quick to indicate that pain patients use Methadone because it is cheap. They say "Cheaper is not always better." What an crazy statement. I never heard that before. Since when is anything cheap ever better? I think they made it up. Don't better things cost money? Explain that to me? BUT! Methadone as bought as a illegal drug on the street is anything but cheap! Not in the least. It is just as expensive as everything else. Again it should never be purchased illegally! That solves that problem. Say no to drugs. The only way to obtain it cheap is legal. Methadone treatment in clinic's is EXPENSIVE not CHEAP either. So I have no idea what they are talking about. So people that used it, abused it and died, did not pay pennies for their death but high dollar like everything else. And it is cheap. So what? I am a pain person that didn't have insurance, that was a blessing. HARMD could care less about that! Stating that Methadone is cheap as bought from a genuine prescription was a dumb thing to put in their arsenal. So what? It again is not cheap on the street or from the drug dealer on the corner. What are my sources? I am a extensive researcher on opiates. I weaned off of 200mg's of Methadone a day as precribed for pain in 3 months and had them in my hand. I been researching opiates for 10 years and was a legally prescribed user of the,Give me any question on any opiate. I will give you an answer. Not a lie.
What do you think of my article? HARMD more harm than good? Methadone and Harmd. Is Harmd doing more harm? I am here to write my opinion on HARMD. Not a lie.

I have a 9 yr old lab who, every few months, has mini fits lasting about 20 minutes then he is OK? Lately these fits are happening a lot more frequently and the Vet has now put him on pills that he has to take twice a day. Problem is these pills cost £25 a month and he has to take them for the rest of his life which could be another 7 or 8 yrs. I am a Pensioner and having to pay £25 a month for the next 7 years is going to be a very great hardship. I love my dog to bits and if necessary will go without eating, but is there no cheaper way to deal with this? I have Pet insurance but that doesn't cover this long term treatment. Shannon. Yes I did all the food checks for allergies. He only eats the best quality dog food. Different types and makes for variety.

Can you summarize this for me, into about 2 or 3 paragraphphs? Its John McCain's position on health care.? John McCain believes we can and must provide access to health care for every American. He has proposed a comprehensive vision for achieving that. John McCain's Vision for Health Care Reform John McCain Believes The Key To Health Care Reform Is To Restore Control To The Patients Themselves. We want a system of health care in which everyone can afford and acquire the treatment and preventative care they need. Health care should be available to all and not limited by where you work or how much you make. Making Health Insurance Innovative, Portable and Affordable John McCain Will Reform Health Care Making It Easier For Individuals And Families To Obtain Insurance. An important part of his plan is to use competition to improve the quality of health insurance with greater variety to match people's needs. John McCain Will Reform The Tax Code To Offer More Choices Beyond Employer-Based Health Insurance Coverage. While still having the option of employer-based coverage, every family will receive a direct refundable tax credit - effectively cash - of $2,500 for individuals and $5,000 for families to offset the cost of insurance. Families will be able to choose the insurance provider that suits those best and the money would be sent directly to the insurance provider. John McCain Proposes Making Insurance More Portable. Americans need insurance that follows them from job to job. They want insurance that is still there if they retire early and does not change if they take a few years off to raise the kids. A Specific Plan of Action: Ensuring Care for Higher Risk Patients John McCain Will Promote Proper Incentives. John McCain will work with Congress, the governors, and industry to make sure this approach is funded adequately and has the right incentives to reduce costs such as disease management, individual case management, and health and wellness programs. A Specific Plan of Action: Lowering Health Care Costs CHEAPER DRUGS: Lowering Drug Prices. John McCain will look to bring greater competition to our drug markets through safe re-importation of drugs and faster introduction of generic drugs. CHRONIC DISEASE: Providing Quality, Cheaper Care For Chronic Disease. Chronic conditions account for three-quarters of the nation's annual health care bill. By emphasizing prevention, early intervention, healthy habits, new treatment models, new public health infrastructure and the use of information technology, we can reduce health care costs. We should dedicate more federal research to caring and curing chronic disease. COORDINATED CARE: Promoting Coordinated Care. Coordinated care - with providers collaborating to produce the best health care - offers better outcomes at lower cost. We should pay a single bill for high-quality disease care which will make every single provider accountable and responsive to the patients' needs. GREATER ACCESS AND CONVENIENCE: Expanding Access To Health Care. Families place a high value on quickly getting simple care. Government should promote greater access through walk-in clinics in retail outlets. SMOKING: Promoting The Availability Of Smoking Cessation Programs. Most smokers would love to quit but find it hard to do so. Working with business and insurance companies to promote availability, we can improve lives and reduce chronic disease through smoking cessation programs. TORT REFORM: Passing Medical Liability Reform. We must pass medical liability reform that eliminates lawsuits directed at doctors who follow clinical guidelines and adhere to safety protocols. Every patient should have access to legal remedies in cases of bad medical practice but that should not be an invitation to endless, frivolous lawsuits. TRANSPARENCY: Bringing Transparency To Health Care Costs. We must make public more information on treatment options and doctor records, and require transparency regarding medical outcomes, quality of care, costs and prices. We must also facilitate the development of national standards for measuring and recording treatments and outcomes. Confronting the Long-Term Challenge John McCain Will Develop A Strategy For Meeting The Challenge Of A Population Needing Greater Long-Term Care. There have been a variety of state-based experiments such as Cash and Counseling or The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) that are pioneering approaches for delivering care to people in a home setting. Seniors are given a monthly stipend which they can use to hire workers and purchase care-related services and goods. They can get help managing their care by designating representatives, such as relatives or friends, to help make decisions. It also offers counseling and bookkeeping services to assist consumers in handling their programmatic responsibilities. If you don't think that this is where I should put this question. Please tell me where I should. agree with you, but still a summary would be nice.
How could Obama's healthcare plan be bad (really)? My supporting points: #1 All McCain will do is give $5,000 to you for health insurance, but I know full well that if employers are taxed when providing health insurance, they will stop covering their employees. Furthermore, the cost of yearly health insurance is more like $12,000/year. Just do the math, and anyone can see that it's a substantial net loss for most Americans. $5,000 sounds like a nice carrot to throw out, but it's deceptive. And I'm in really bad shape if I'm already sick with cancer in terms of getting coverage at all. #2 If you're working with a family to raise, how could you think it's acceptable that nearly 50 million Americans have no health insurance. Furthermore, the #1 cause of bankruptcy is medical related and many of the people who go broke actually have plans that had inadequate coverage. I understand that if you did what you were supposed to do in life and have a great health plan, than why should you have to sacrifice anything for some smuck who doesn't have enough coverage, I get that. But lets do the simple math. Nearly 1 in 5 Americans don't have health insurance, and many more don't have adequate coverage. Example: In my high school class of 1997 consisting of 300 kids, if 50 of them had to be held back to repeat the 12th grade and another 60 students graduated, but did not have an adequate enough education to be able to fill out a job application, than that would be abysmal. Now maybe that group of 110 students didn't have parents who could afford to higher an after school tutor or who knows, but shouldn't the system be changed to get a better result? How can people just call Obama's plan "scary"? #3 The gov't provides many things that are simply a right, like public safety. I mean I'm sure it would be cheaper to have no police on municipality pay rolls, but wouldn't you have far more crimes committed? Do you just tell everyone to higher a personal bodyguard? Do you get them started off with the first $5,000 to cover the bodyguard, even if they charge 12 or 15 grand a year? #4. Health insurance is a financial hardship for many Americans, but the healthcare industry is one of the most profitable behind big oil and real estate. I was with American Re and know these facts to be true. #5 Think of all of the abortions that would never happen if new mothers knew that the huge expense of healthcare would not be their burden alone. How competitive would GM be if they were no longer under the crushing burden of high healthcare costs as opposed to Japanese, Korean and European auto makers. Health insurance companies are a powerful special interest group , but you voters have the power! How could Obama's healthcare plan be such a bad thing?
So basically he sa
