Should I get private term life insurance? I'm 39 and have life insurance through my employer. I could probably obtain private life insurance for the same rate. Is it wise to get non-employer term life insurance now (before I'm 40)? I may not stick with my current employer for another ten or twenty years, but I'll probably be here for a few years. Is there any downside to waiting to obtain term life insurance elsewhere? Solution243--Looks like you have no real answers but send everyone garbage links (for scam, perhaps?). Or maybe the same link (from you) really does answer both this question AND someone else's question about how much he should be paid for working at a deli in New Jersey. I work for the federal government. The rate is decent, though I might be able to get a little better.

Do I need both term life insurance and universal life insurance? My Statefarm rep is suggesting I transfer my 5 year term insurance (which is over at the end of July) to two different life insurances - a 20 year term insurance and a universal life insurance policy - does anyone else have both? I don't see why I can't just get the universal life insurance, since I'll get money back from it later and you get nothing from the term life insurance. I don't necessarily want the universal life insurance because I may be able to get money back on it later - I just want what I'll need in case something happens to my husband or myself while our children are under 18. This may sound like a dumb question, how do I find an independent insurance agent?

Is it better to have term life insurance or whole life insurance? I am 26 years old and just had a baby and want to know which insurance is better whole or term. How do I determine how much to get? Who besides my daughter if anyone should be the beneficiary? Note: Her father and I aren't married but I was considering leaving him a percentage so that he could have extra $ to provide for or daughter if neccessary - Is this a good idea?
