Good Reason For Whole Life Insurance Quotes? I have a whole life policy, through the Nights of Columbus. There is a respected financial advisor, Suze Orman, who seems so adamnant that whole life is not a swift move. She makes it sound as if there is not one reason to own whole vs term. Are there any good reasons for owning whole?
Pay the Extra Premiums for Whole Life Insurance Quotes? I currently have a term life insurance policy and am considering converting it to a whole life policy. I'm married with no kids. My wife has her own life insurance and retirements already in place. We are not going to have children. The main reason I was interested in the Whole Life was the investing portion to supplement my current mutual fund retirement. Should I pay the extra premiums for the Whole life or should I keep the term life and put the extra money into a Roth IRA? Any advice would be great. Thank you
Life Insurance: Variable Life vs Whole Life, which one is really better? Is Whole Life premium more money than Variable Universal Life? I asked for a Whole Life insurance quote from one of the big insurance companies around, instead the agent tries to convince me that I should go with Variable Universal Life. He said Whole Life premium is always higher than Variable Life. He generated a printout for Variable Universal Life but not for Whole Life. I just want my premium to remain fixed in my old age and dont want the death benefit to fluctuate hence I prefer Whole Life. He stated that the death benefit is guaranteed for VUL. Is it really? I have a feeling it's not and that the premium for VUL will increase in my old age since it's dependent on my market investment. I'm beginning to think that his commission for selling Variable Life is more than selling Whole Life. I'm 37 female, non-smoker, in good health. I dont believe Whole Life premium would be that much higher than VUL. Any input is appreciated.
Instant Whole Life Insurance Quote Question:? What are some cool instant whole life insurance quote sites you have to share? I've looked around a bit but I figured I'd ask here. Any link you can share will be appreciated.
$500k Whole Life Insurance quote? Approximately how much annual premium for this quote with these stats: - 24 year old male - excellent health. - Height: 5'7'' Weight: 160 lbs Quotes only from insurance companies with good ratings (no sub-par companies).
What is a good website to compare life insurance quotes? I'm looking for whole life coverage for my mother. I need a plan for about $5,000-$10,000. All the websites where I can compare multiple ones at a time want your phone number (and/or email address) so they can call. I want to see the quotes instantly online. I just need a rough estimate and I could look further into an individual company. Anyone know of a website where I can do this?
Should Keep or Look into term Life Insurance Quotes? I have a whole life policy which I have been paying 45.00 per month for 16 yrs. I have to pay this amount until age 99 so they say. The amount it was for when I bought it was 50,000. It builds cash value. I am now 62. Should I keep this policy or look into term insurance?
Could Possibly Use Life Insurance Quotes Money if needed? 1)I already have term life, I now have an opportunity to get a small whole life policy. I wanted a whole life policy, but at this time can not afford it. Does it make since to purchase a small plan, which would give me a little more coverage and give me the benefits of a whole life plan as far as, cash value building, that I could possibly use if needed?
How much does Whole Life insurance cost? I have a quote for 20-year term life insurance for a non-smoker for $48 a month. How much would it be a month for whole life insurance? I forgot to add that the term was for $250,000 An answer would be great, by the way.

What might I typically pay for whole life insurance? Hi! I am going to eventually try to get a life insurance quote, but I don't want to deal with people trying to sell it to me until I know a little more about it. I'm a 25 year old female who exercises at least 4 times / week, I quit smoking a year ago, and I have no major health issues (unless you count depression, which I have not had to deal with in roughly 2 years). I want to try to get a rough estimate of what I MIGHT pay monthly (I know, it's a very rough estimate with so little information, but anything you can give me just for an idea, since I know nothing about life insurance...) Thank you!! I do have a 3 year old son, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that little fact lol...
Dilemma: Whole Life or Term Life Insurance? I'm trying to get insurance for my mom through Colonial Penn. I'm so lost right now. If something happens to her I want all of burial cost to be covered. She's 48 with minor health problems. I got a quote for Whole Life $60.48, Term Life $18.45. Big difference. I've been reading that Whole Life insurance ia a rip-off but I'm still confused. Can you guys please help me. Thanks a bunch! :)
I'm looking in to insurance, when is whole life a good idea. I can't find one.? I want to get life insurance and after getting quote from an agent I looked into it. I found that I would get more coverage with term for a better price. I kind of understand the savings portion but wouldn't it make more sense to get a term policy and put the rest in a etf or mutual fund, that way it's my money and the insurance company can't keep it if I would happen to pass. I am going to go with the term but is there any reason to go with the whole life. I'm 24 with wife and 3yr old. Also, why would the agent not tell me about term insurance, it seems like a better deal if you ask me.
what is the difference between term/whole life insurance vs accidental death insurance? I'm trying to buy life insurance for myself and my mother. I read up on this survivorship insurance which sounded pretty good since I wanted something for my mother if I were do die first and vice versa. but most of the online quotes I saw were between spouses... But I got confused when I read about accidental death ins- does this mean I will not be covered if I die of an illness or old age- but instead must die of an accident such as auto or slip and fall?? secondly, would I get taxed on the interest earned on the universal/whole ins or when the policy is paid out/ surrendered?
How much should whole life insurance cost for a younger individual? I would like to know a general range of prices for a younger age. I am 22 and I went to nationwide but whole life was too expense. They quoted a 30 year term, $250K for $25/month, which I still feel is expensive. Let me know what you think. Whoa calm down man..I only think it's expensive because my mom who is more than 20 years older than me pays a little bit more for $100k..yeas there's a big difference between $100k and 250K but even when I checked how much my $100k would be it was only a little cheaper. Considering the huge age difference between us i though it was too expensive
What type of Life Insurance should my husband and I get. We are both 23 and just purchased a home.? My husband and I are both 23 years old and we just purchased a home. We have been under pressure from our Insurance Agent and our Mortgage broker to obtain Life Insurance in case something happens to one of us. We would like to have coverage in case something happens. We are pretty much clueless when it comes to Insurance policies. I ALREADY LOOKED UP THE INFO ON WIKIPEDIA, SO PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME MORE OF THAT. I want opinions on what the best kind of Life Insurance is for us. GIVE ME DETAILS OF POLICIES AND WHAT THEY MEAN. WHAT CAN I DO WITH THEM? HOW DO THEY WORK? HOW DO WE BENEFIT? PROS & CONS? PRICES? I KNOW NOTHING! HELP! Term (but if it is a 30 year term, does that mean when we are for example 54 and something happens after the 30 years, we aren't covered?) or Permanant (whole life). We didn't like the decreasing term policy our agent showed us. We have gotten 2 quotes for Term Life, BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND INSURANCE! Help us make an informed decision!!! Please!
What type of Life Insurance is best for my husband and I? (We just purchased a home, we are both 23 years old) My husband and I are both 23 years old and we just purchased a home. We have been under pressure from our Insurance Agent and our Mortgage broker to obtain Life Insurance in case something happens to one of us. We would like to have coverage in case something happens. I know the importance of Life Insurance, as my mom was killed in a car accident when she was only 38. So, we want to be protected, and we want our house to be safe. We are pretty much clueless when it comes to Insurance policies. I ALREADY LOOKED UP THE INFO ON WIKIPEDIA, SO PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME MORE OF THAT. Term (but if it is a 30 year term, does that mean when we are for example 54 and something happens after the 30 years, we aren't covered???) or Permanant (whole life, and others). We didn't like the decreasing term policy our agent showed us. We have gotten 2 quotes for Term Life. Help us make an informed decision!!! Please! Dan, I don't have your email address!!!
What companies still offer "actual" Mortgage Life Insurance policies? Unfortunately, there is some extensive health history that prohibits the application of such traditional Term/Whole life solutions. From what I understand, actual Mortgage Life Insurance is a decreasing plan (following the decreasing principle of your loan) that is shared by both borrowers and designed only to pay off the mortgage in the event one or both borrowers dies. Can you give me the names, ph#, email, URL, to any companies that offer this specific insurance product? I have already asked my lender, loan servicer, and about 100 different B.S. online quotes :) Thanks. Just to be crystal clear...I am not looking for Term Life Insurance, Whole Life Insurance, Variable, Universal, or any other typical live insurace vehicle. Eventhough the insurance industry has muddiedthe definiton; "Mortgage Life Insurance" is a specific product in it of itself.
what does non-guaranteed cash value mean in life insurance? how do they come up with this numbers? and why do agents always push whole life instead of the term? the quote says if for a whole life, $100,000 benefit / 30 yr, after 30 yrs the guratanteed is same 100grand, but the NON-guaranteed is gonna be $206,000 and the cash value would be 116,000. like i said, how do they come up with this numbers? how? i need numbers.
How to say no to an insurance agent? So I spent a few hours with this life insurance agent last weekend discussing various options and she gave me lots of term and whole quotes and paperwork to take home. Did the same with an equally helpful agent of another insurance company thereafter. Quotes vary all over the place, so I intend to consult with one more agent before I decide. Now the problem is how to politely say no to all but one these helpful people? They have already started calling to check if I have decided but I need time to shop around. Hope to hear both from consumers who have faced this situation and insurance salespersons who may perhaps face this frequently. Thanks.
Life Insurance for a Thai citizen? I'm trying to find insurance companies that provide whole or term life insurance to Thai citizens living in Thailand that provide quotes on the internet, or easily through email or online forms. At the very least, I'm looking for insurance company recommendations for Thai citizens living in Thailand. I'm not sure which ones are legitimate. I don't want to deal with one that will give the insured person problems or one that will close up shop in a few years. I know there are many insurance companies - I am looking for recommendations from personal experience.
27, single, no kids, great health, should i get term life insurance? I spoke to an agent and he recommended life insurance (since in the future I plan on having a family, kids husband). Term insurance for 10 20 or 30 years is pretty cheap ranging from 10-16 bucks a month for me, whole life is A LOT more. I understand the rate for whole life will just keep going up as i get older, but he said it would make sense for me to get term just so I can take the medical test and in the future 10 years (or before the term life insurance expires) I decide to get a whole life policy with the same company (met life) they would still quote me a premium at the health I had when I got my term policy (in case my health were to worsen).... Am i Making sense.. So basically he said to get the term insurance just so I can take the test now and wont have to in the future (20-30 years) which by then who knows what my health may be....My age will pay a factor at that time at how much whole life will be, but my health work for me and not against me.... What do you say? (then by 20 years I can really see if im going the route of having kids etc)
Which is the best and cheapest Pet insurance company to use? I've researched a few companies and tried money supermarket etc but I am unsure who to go with. Petplan being the obvious first choice but it's so expensive, my quote is between £45 and £65 a month for whole Life pet insurance. I have 2 pedigree pug puppies so really need to insure them but I don't want to pay that much money. Any suggestions from people with experience would be appreciated. Thanks
Life Insurance question....need advice!? Hi, I was at a family gathering and ended up talking to a cousin, who sells Insurance. I mentioned looking into getting a whole life policy and maybe throwing some business her way. She told me to give her a call when I was ready. After the party it suddenly dawned on me that life insurance applications get very personal, and you usually have to divulge your medical history. I have had multiple surgeries in the past 10 years. My relatives, her included, tend to talk a lot and I don't want her knowing my medical background. Although she told me to call her when I was ready, she's already CALLED ME asking for personal info to get me rate quotes. How can I get out of this, without hurting her feelings?
I got a quote for term life insurance for 20 years? ...and it cost $5717.28 is that what I'm supposed to pay monthly or yearly or for the whole 20 years? I have high blood pressure. but it's controlled since i'm taking medicine and eating healthy. I have one son from previous marriage. I'm 49 years old.
20yrs old... need help with life insurance, of all things.? I'm 20 years old and 5 months pregnant with my first child. I'm starting to think about things like life insurance. I know I want term life insurance and not whole because I am already set up with a 401k at my job. The quotes I'm getting are confusing me and I'm not entirely sure what to ask for in terms of years (20, 25, 30 etc) and amount (500,000 750,000 etc). How much should I be paying monthly and can anyone recommend what a healthy 20 year old with (soon to be) one dependent should be going after for a life insurance plan?
whole life or term policy?? Mom is 78 still healthy. I was quoted by a friend of my sister that she should take out a whole life policy on my mom for $50,000, at $275/mo I found a 10 year Term policy with the same benefit that's about $75 less. Mom currently has no life insurance on her. Which one should I pick? It's for final expenses and some small debts. The benefit amount would cover final expenses along with cover all liabilties. don't care about investment I read somewhere that for whole life, if the person dies within the first 3 years, depending on the policy, benefit may not be paid. Is that true? I understand that the first couple years of the whole life policy, premiums generally go to cover commissions, cost...etc. and really no cash value is built.
Question about life insurance? Here is a little background info...I am a month away from joining the navy and going to flight school, I am 26 no health problems and my wife is 23 with no health problems. I went to get car insurance and the lady suggested i get life insurance now why I am still considered a substitute teacher. She said once I join the military It will require A lot more info and also my career will be considered hazordous. Does this sound right? And finally she just did a quick quaote and to cover my wife and myself each for 250k it will cost just under 70 dollars. This is also whole life not term and she said after a certain amount of time I could also cash the policy out and even make money ( something like 30 yrs). Does all this sound legit and does the quote sound reasonable, it was also state farm if that makes a difference. Thanks
I'm 24 and married. Do I need Term AND Perm life insurance? My financial advisor advised me to sign up for a $400+/yr term plan (20 yrs I believe) and a $1100+/yr perm (whole life) policy for $300,000. (I don't recall which one this figure is for). I read that term is much better and is actually much cheaper than even the figure my advisor quoted me. As little detail as I provided, and my goals in life are pretty average (e.g., nothing special!), do I need both policies or should I only get term? On another note, what upset me with them is that our new planners didn't even give us time to think about what we wanted before shoving papers in our faces. So, are they right or wrong for selling us both these policies for a 24 y/o married couple (I'm 24, she's 23). ...and, should I keep my financial advisor? :-D Thanks! BTW, my wife works full-time as well and plans to continue after having kids (and of course taking some time off), so she won't be jobless her entire life.
Why my insurance agent prefer "Nationwide" insurance? 2 years ago and now, I asked him for a quote on health insurance he insist on Nationwide as the best coverage. Now, I asked for a whole life no cash buildup, he mention Nationwide. Are they the best company for life insurance? My mom has Metlife so I'm looking into that company as well as Nationwide. I saw commercial on TV for Prudential. Anyone know the most popular and best company to go to for life insurance? Regarding health insurance, 2 yrs ago I went with Nationwide and now, I told my agent I want Bluecross. He has access to other company but it's just weird that he pushing for Nationwide.
Life Insurance. Which type is best to choose ? I don't know what the type I'm looking for is called? I don't want to speak to fifteen different agents all trying to sell me their policy. I am 61 years old. I want a $10,000 policy that will be in effect at my death, and not end before I do, at a certain pre set age. I'm not sure what this particular coverage is called .If I go online for a quote I end up with a whole bunch of calls and emails. All I want right now is basic knowledge of the different types and coverages available. The cost I will tackle when I know what its called that I am looking for. Any help would be appreciated.
I knocked someones car but he claimed for a lot more and now my insurance has gone from £400 to £900 - help!!? Back in June I knocked into a stationary vehicle in a car park. I waited for the guy to come back and apologised straight away. (when its your fault in life own up) He was initially annoyed (fair enough) but went on to tell me that someone else had knocked into his car recently and caused £600 worth of damage (the other driver had sped off and hed already had a quote for the work). I cant remember the exact wording of the next bit - but it was understood that I would pay whatever it cost on top of that to fix the area (bumper / side corner area) We exchanged details. I told my insurance company what had happened and the previous damage. There were also photos taken at the time that I forwarded on (not sure if they were actually any help) Next I hear his insurance company has approached mine with a bill for £700. The total amount for fixing his car. I brought up the matter of the previous damage - couple of conversations between insurance companies - his asking him directly if there was any previous damage and him saying no. I told my insurance company that there was a friend with me (we were walking our dogs in the park) who had heard the whole conversation - in fact she was the one that took the pictures. She is a responsible, respectable person who was happy to make a statement. I was told by the insurance company that as it was someone who knew me - they couldnt be seen as an impartial person and they ended up paying the whole amount to his insurance company. I have just received my new insurance quote. Last year it was £437 and now that I have lost my 3 years no claims bonus (I have been driving for much longer but have only owned a small van for 3 years (practicality for my dogs muddy feet) and insurance starts again for vans) but I also have this £700 fault against my name this year. My insurance quote is now £960. Is there anything I can do. Does anyone have advice for any further action I can take? I believe in taking responsibility for your actions - but I am being cheated here out of a lot of money and I dont know what to do. If £100 was down to me then I could have just paid that amount directly and not lost my no claims bonus. But as it stands it will cost me around £500 this year and more again on the consequent years of insurance. Sorry for this being a long one but I really am lost. My insurance is due on 7th Jan. Is there any way to make this a civil law issue? Just to stress the point that my insurance company agreed that if I had paid the amount myself (ie the £100) then I would not have lost my NCB.
Auto Insurance & Road Service Question? Hi there, Thank you in advance for helping out! I want to know your advice and recommendation on which company to receive my auto insurance/road service from, and what sort of coverage is recommended. I have been with AAA my whole life because my father advocates highly for them so I have trusted his judgment and experience. But I think they may be ripping me off. I am a 27 year old single female with a good driving record (last accident was back in spring 2005 I believe). Yet, every single year they seem to increase my monthly payment by ~$10 and now I'm paying $118.25/month! Are they that superior a company that it is worth paying this and should I try to negotiate with them, or is it worth looking into some other companies such as Geico, State Farm, Progressive, etc. I’ve been receiving invites from them for years and Liberty Mutual supposedly has some college alumni offer for me and claim to be ~$340 cheaper than 21st Century, Allstate, and Mercury…but I never trust ads anymore. I only believe concrete statistical comparison data. Also, my dad said road service is completely separate from auto insurance (although AAA handles both) and I pay $52/year to be part of his joint plan as a “AAA Plus Dues - Associate.” He said he believes this covers 6 visits/year, 100 miles, is the most basic plan, and he only got it because he’s been with AAA for 30 years. Could I get a better deal elsewhere or is this fair enough to stick with? At the end of the day, I want decent coverage for the best price available. I’m saving for a down payment on a home and have to scrape pennies from anywhere I can, but still do not want to be stranded at the time of an accident. I got some quotes online that were considerably cheaper, but if I’m going to be screwed, then are the savings worthwhile? ============================================= As needed, here are details on my car and policy (please tell me which are unnecessary or should be edited): -Honda 2008 Civic LX 4-door sedan -Miles commute USED to be 50 miles one way ~3 days a week, but now I work from home every single day; Notes in Policy say: Prior and Future Annual Mi: 8,000 (22mi per day, so I wonder if they even counted my prior commute in this). -Policy has me down as a student, not sure why, been a full-time professional since Jan 2008 and now make 65K -Bodily Injury: Liability Limits Each person 50K; Liability Limits Each Occurrence 100K; Premium: $193 -Medical Payments: No coverage -Uninsured Motorists: Liability Limits Each person 50K; Liability Limits Each Occurrence 100K; Premium: $78 -Property Damage: Liability Limits Each Occurrence 50K; Premium: $192 -Comprehensive: Actual Cash Value Less Deductible; 100 Deductible; Premium: $242 -Collision: Actual Cash Value Less Deductible; 100 Deductible; Premium: $650 -Enhanced Transportation Expense: Premium: $28 -All Risks: Actual Cash Value Less Deductible; No coverage -Total Premium Per Vehicle (1 vehicle): $1,383 -Auto Death Benefits: 15K/driver listed with ADB coverage above -DSR (Driving Safety Record): 1 Pt -YDE (Years Driving Experience): 12 started at 18, I’m 27…so the actual is 9, but I’ll take it. -Discounts: None except “Good Driver(s): Items 01” and 01 is my Honda, so I guess this means I’m a good driver (don’t know why the price doesn’t reflect it!) -Live in Berkeley, CA (zip code 94708) but am listed as Lafayette, CA (94549) – how do I check which zip is less money? Thanks so much for your advice!! =) I appreciate your time & insight. Oops COLLISION deductible is $500, while comprehensive deductible is $100. So what does that mean if they're different like that? All I know is my windshield replacement fit in the "Comprehensive category." Thanks!
fiat seicento problems>? Im 17 years old and passed my driving test november. i decided to buy my first car fiat seicento sporting in december 2010 for £900. Model 2003 only 43,000 miles. got insurance with tesco they quoted me £2700. regreted ever since just had problem after problem. first got a puncture cost me £60 as needed new tyre aswell. then had another slow puncture £15 then 2 flat batteries, then overheated turned out had a radiator leak £130 then my clutch cable snapped £50 then gear stick and connectors £100 and the past week i have been finding it very hard to put it 1st gear so took to my local garage today and they said i need a new clutch and will be looking at roughly £200 - 250. i have no more money left and no transport. i have only had the car 1 and a half months should i get it fixed and wait for the next problem? if i cancel my insurance will i get any money back? i have put my whole life savings into this car and now dont know what to do. advice would be greatly appreciated
Scared about insurance claim :(? Hey, I am in desperate need of some advice, and was wondering if you have a couple of free minutes whether you would mind giving me your honest opinion? Okay Basically I had an incident just before the weekend, where i caught my one of the sides of my car on a metal bollard, badly denting it the rear offside, with a scrape that rungs along the passenger door through to the rear arch. I am completely unfamiliar with claiming on insurance, and am always petrified when it comes to things like this :( I have been with my insurance company for over a year, never missed a payment, have never had any motoring offenses or other insurance claims, and am fully comprehensive with additional insurance policies/add-on's with the same company, there's no damage to any other vehicles or property and I accept full liability regardless. The problem is, and I really hate myself for it and CANNOT for the life of me understand why I did it, but when i contacted my insurance company (which I did so immediately after) on the initial report I told them I didn't know how it happened and it was parked in the street. I think I was just afraid to be honest, because I always believe these companies are only there to make money and not protect its customers (pathetic I know). All the insurance company did was put me through to their claims dept who gave me the telephone number for an approved garage to take it in so they can have a look and give me a quote/courtesy car etc. If I do so, more than likely they will assess the damage and the insurance company will pay, but I am so terrified of the fact that I haven't been truthful with what happened, its actually keeping me awake at night. I realize this may be slightly dramatic but I really don't know what the best course of action would be here. I really want to phone and tell them but I am worried that as a result they will invalidate my claim, my premiums will skyrocket in the future and I cant afford to repair my car. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated, good or bad (I expect there will be a whole lot of slating me because of my stupidity).
Gender Reassignment? I'm watching Dr. Phil right now and it's about a girl who has lived her whole life feeling like a boy inside. She wants to have gender reassignment surgery to allow her outsides to match her insides. Also on The L Word, Moira transitions to Max... anyway, my point is that there are people out there who are really born feeling they are in the wrong body! Just like people are born gay... And I do believe that happens. More and more, gender identity is being brought into public debate. Should medical insurance cover the cost of gender reassignment? and with what pre-requisites? In my opinion it should. Our country is founded on the 'pursuit of happiness' does that quote apply here? I am interested to see what everybody thinks...
Why are they destroying my life? My mom stated that we were going to have family counseling which i didnt care about that much, but i just got a letter saying quote "we have been authorized by your insurance blah blah blah....to administer its managed mental health program. As such, we are responsible for reviewing mental health and/or substance abuse treatment to ensure that it is medically necessary and appropriate for payment purposes." Then it said procedure Diognostic interview exam and Ind Tx W/o Med Eva/mgt-45-50 min. I AM PERFECTLY ALRIGHT I AM NOT NOR HAVE EVER USED DRUGS OR ALCOHAL! I HAVE FRIENDS WHO LOVE ME AND IM I TONS OF CLUBS AT SCHOOL! I am fine its my parents who are sick....they threw me out of the house, out of the car too and made me walk 2 miles uphill, they used to hit me, they blame everything on me and my little sister never!!!! They literally never let me go out, and the one time they do they purposely humiliate me! Im so young...just a freshman in hs....i have the whole world to look forward too, but i want to enjoy my youth and they are taking it away from me! now this!!! I dont want somebody shoving anitdeppressents down my throat or giving me unnessesary blood tests! im just a girl who rebels against the worlds worst parents! please i need advice, i cant do this anymore. Funny thing...my parents hate my friends, my all honors classes arent good enough, they hate the clubs im in, and yet they turn off the internet so that i cant do hw. THEY DONT MAKE SENSE EVERYTHING IS TO MAKE ME MISERABLE impossible blah blah blah... lol i agree but u dont know my parents....they would probably make me go and take those goddamn drugs...ahhhh if only i were 18. and Gypsy Red hmhm. u think im overexageratin......social services has come to my house on several occasions so dont act like u know me. we cant all have 3.5 children and the perfect life oh my mom said that she wanted us to have family counseling but i got a letter about individual mental evaluation and counseling i forgot to point that out she doesnt support them...she never takes me home from them my aunt has too because my mom refuses...she belives i should be "studying" ya shes one of those moms. does anybody get that me and my parents DO NOT COMMUNICATE except when they come up with a new ridiculous rule like...the hot water turns off at 930. we yell...and by we i mean my parents yell at me then i yell back....then they scream and tell me thats y i have no friends and that nobody will ever like me in real life, that i have a terrible personality that nobody likes. I AM NOT THE TYPE TO SIT THERE AND WATCH.
Is There a Real Difference Between Obama and Bernie Madoff? What did Bernie do? He ran vast Ponzi Scheme, and then ran off with the money and left his clients with their accounts worthless. What does Obama want to do? He wants to convert the money set aside for Medicare into a fund to pay for his Healthcare scheme to benefit his ACORN friends and other very poor people. This would transform Medicare into a vast Failed Ponzi Scheme in which money has been collected from people all their working lives, and now it is stolen at the last minute by Obama who runs off with it, so the Medicare beneficiaries are left with their accounts worthless. It's conversion of funds on a vast scale. It's larceny by trick and device. And it will be very harmful. The Medicare beneficiaries who are about to retire -- reaching age 65, after working at least 40 quarters, and paying into FICA their whole working lives, are going to need end of life care -- nursing homes, hospitals, etc -- the kind of thing that Medicare beneficiaries have been able to count on since the 1960's. Now comes Obama, the socialist, who wants to spread the wealth around, to his ACORN henchmen, and other street people and community organizers. How does he even get a hearing in the House or Senate? Why isn't his health scheme considered so outrageous, preposterous, and obviously dishonorable as to be dead on arrival on Capitol Hill? Besides the stealing issue, and the breach of promise (nobody will ever trust the government again if Obama gets his way), there's also a huge negative wealth effect created. If Medicare is not going to be there for the Baby Boomers, they are going to have to save a lot more. That means not spending. Economy is weak now. Obama-Care will kill it utterly. Nobody will spend a dime. The Medicare insurance program was supposed to allow people to get old without worrying about their medical care or paying for it. Medicare is insurance against being old, sick, and unable to pay. Like most insurance it provided a huge societal benefit. It gave people freedom to live without worry. Take it away -- like in the Obama scheme -- people will have to self-insure. They will do it with annuities, with TIPS, with other forms of dead-money no-risk investments, maybe gold, maybe land, whatever. Anyhow that cash won't be around to sustain a vibrant retail sector economy. Forget it. The ACORN people will get what they got in the USSR, in Chad, in Albania, in North Korea, in all the places where their "spread the wealth around" (quoting Joe Biden) ideas have been tried. Obama is the first President in the history of the USA to become a "Lame Duck" in less than 6 months. Talk about blowing an opportunity, with both houses of the Congress, and 60 votes in the Senate, Wow, that's some accomplishment. The TARP was theft, The TALF was theft, the Stimulus did not work at all, and the Health scheme is theft -- Bernie Madoff style theft! Three strikes, you're out pal! Is it not likely that any politician on any side of the isle who supports Obama in mugging the Medicare beneficiaries will be signing their own "Pink Slip" from the Congress. People over 65 will soon figure out they have been robbed. About 100% of them vote. This is not a small robbery -- this is Madoff style clean out your account robbery. Yes, there will a lot of people gone out of the Congress. Touched the "Third Rail" of American politics. Didn't mean to. Didn't think that's what they were doing. It's not what Nancy Pelosi told them. Too soon gone, too late smart. Messing with the Medicare is a real bad idea. Any fraud, waste, or abuse money found should go right back into the Trust Fund. When the cops catch bank robbers, the bags of money go back to the bank. They don't go to the local mayor or to ACORN for community improvement projects. Medicare is for the Medicare beneficiaries. Touch that "Third Rail" and you are GONE! Ta, Ta, so long, it's been good to know ya. Happy trails
Voting with your feet? What about the 10th Ammendment? Read the 10th Ammendment here: http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/bill_of_rights_transcript.html Isn't the point that if the states can do something then there is no need to have the federal government do it? Doesn't that just make sense anyhow? Liberals.. wouldnt you prefer to live in a state where abortion was legal, rather than have the right remove it completely from the country? Decide the issue at the state level. Education is a great example... why take the risk of allowing a FEDERAL mandate that is screwed up, mess up EVERY states education? Rather.. let parents and teachers and administrators decide locally, not even at the state level... they ARE capable of doing it. Insurance.. Each individual is capable of purchasing their own health insurance. Each State is 100% able to take care of any and all legislation regarding ANY health care issues. I can see NO, ZERO, ZIP reason for someone in Washington having ANY say about what my state does with the issue. Let americans have 50 choices of where they want to live, rather than 1. Arent you liberals pro-choice? my god you use that word so much but you want to force a plan on everyone for something each human being must, i repeat MUST take responsilibity for. What about the poor, and the helpless who fall through the cracks? Thats what family, and church and non-profits and Friends are for. Not George Bush (or Obama if you hate him)... Please.. can't we all agree... keep washington out of things we are perfectly capable of taking care of? We are becoming TOO dependent on the fed. Is there ONE liberal here who raises their kids to stay dependent on them their whole lives? That is not freedom. I seriously do not think that liberals and democrats really understand the word freedom. Freedom cannot have an enforced safety net. It cannot have a gun pointed at the responsible citizens FORCING them to care for the others... Is that freedom... that is what you liberals are doing.. you are pointing you magnum 60 (votes) at the other 40% and pulling the trigger. I lost my license....? In September of 2004 due to an accident that was caused by my own stupid actions. In my state, insurance isn't a necessity, but is a smart thing to have anyway. Long story short, I hit a car head on. I only managed to bust their passenger side headlight, even though my car was totaled. The woman told me she wouldn't charge me for any of it. Two years later, I get a letter in the mail from the DMV stating that they would revoke my license. I found out that I needed to pay a lawyer a bit over 5k for damages to the other car, and until I paid that, I wouldn't be getting my license back. Sure enough, I lost my job, my car and license, and my ability to pay. So I have been looking for a way out of this. I Never got a letter from the insurance or a phone call, I never saw three quotes for the damage, nor did I even get a phone call from a lawyer. It was just the DMV sending me a letter telling me I needed to pay a lawyer of sorts. I guess my question is.... Since nothing ever came to me from the insurance company, and this whole thing seems rather sketchy, is there any other way out? Just a note, I have never gotten a ticket for anything in my life. Never been pulled over, just got into one single accident and got punished worse than someone who gets a DWI :( Any help is greatly appreciated
A friend of mine was driving my vehicle and got into an accident. Now refusing to pay for damages? A friend was driving my car and damaged it. Now refusing to pay for damages. What should I do? A (now former) friend of mine was driving my car. Myself, her and a mutual friend were all in the vehicle. She was backing out of a driveway and backed into a hydro pole damaging my quarter panel. She claimed she would pay for it no problem just get her the quote. I got her the quote but she was having a rough time with life (dad had back surgery, got kicked out of her house etc.) I thought as I friend I would not hassle her too much until things cooled down. This all happened August 1st. On the 15th/16th she called me to chat and I asked her if she was still planning on paying for damages. She gave a quick "if you really want me too" than hung up the phone. I tried getting a hold of her for the next 24hrs with no luck. She than sent me a text saying she has more important things to worry about than my car, also her mother sent me a message saying if she said she'll pay she probably would but whos to say she did it in the first place. I told her she had 2 days to get ahold of me or I would be taking legal action. I got a hold of her yesterday, told her if she wasnt willing to pay for the damages I would file a report and contact my insurance company etc. She basically laughed in my face and told me I just lost a good friend (some friend). I told her she had until tomorrow (today) to make up her mind. I would give her a paper copy of the quote if she did decide to pay for it. She than called me saying her mother and herself went to the police station and they told her i couldnt do anything, also she claims she contacted her insurance company and they told her she couldnt be held liable. My family and I believe she is bluffing as for the reasons of the fact her mother is in a wheelchair and they have no wheelchair accessable vehicle to get to the police station. Also she refused to give me her insurance information and hung up the phone after I asked. The question was raised as to why she would go to her insurance company and the police station and implicate herself? Now there were witness's. All of which saw the whole thing happen as well she the "business man handshake" go down. We called the OPP(I live in ontario) and they said we need to file a police report with any evidence and names of witness's than give the report to my insurance as well as the quote for the damages. My question is what is the likely outcome? She does have a license and insurance, there were witness's who saw it take place and I have photos of the damage. My only worry is that since some time has passed nothing can be done. Also I was later informed that she had taken several valium pills before the accident took place. I was not aware of this at the time. Any answers, advice etc is welcome. (please no answers consisting of "Your an idiot for letting someone else drive your car. I know what i did wrong. thanks) Dylanfox-> yes for sure. PJ-> I plan on going to my insurance company today and asking them what my options are. Artman-> Thank you for your response. I still have the text messages but there were no emails. I do not plan on contacting her in any way shape or form. There are witness's willing to testify. Your last part gave me a chuckle...very true. The Ringleader-> The next day she claimed that her mother let her back in the house. It was more or less an arguement went down and words were said. She was kicked out for less than 5 hours. Infact I almost believe it never happened and was just an excuse. Angel G-> She does have the money. Herself and her family are very VERY well off. Its not a matter of that she cannot pay for it, its a matter that she just refuses to. She is also a very dramatic person. I believe most of the issues she claimed to be going on were either over exaggerated or non-exsistant.
Has anyone in the Michigan/Indiana area seen Dr. Byung C. Rhee for pain? Does he prescribe pain meds? I'm trying to locate a good Pain Doctor/Clinic. I missed the landing ramp on a dirt bike jump about 25 years ago and have had problems with back pain ever since. I have seen a "Pain Specialist" who performed Facet Blocks and Epidurals using Steroids injected into my back, which were helpful for a few days on the Blocks and longer on the Epidurals; but they never put me in full relief to where I could sleep through a whole night. Being that I only have Medicare for Insurance, the benefit vs. the cost was far from being 'Worth It." Surgery has also been discussed for relief of my pain. I have known 3 co-workers, when I was still able to work, and 1 family member who had back surgery and 3 out of the 4 said "ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO IT", with reasons ranging from "it made the problem worse" to "it caused new problems that they didn't have before the surgery and didn't take care of the original problem either"; and the 4th said "sometimes she's glad she did it and other times she's sorry that she did it". Plus, the one family member who had it done was my late Father who asked me to promise him "that I would never have surgery on my back unless it was to save my life or to prevent paralysis", (If I had another accident or something like that.) I was seeing a doctor in Texas where the accident happened; who kept my pain under control with mild pain medications, muscle relaxers, and Valium, but I was a lot younger and in better physical shape than I am now. (It sucks getting older.) After moving back to Michigan, I went to another Dr. who alternated me from Fentanyl Patches (Duragesic) changed every other day, to a Morphine and Valium combination when the Fentanyl would quit working. Then back to the Fentanyl when the Morphine/Valium quit. That seemed to me to be the most effective; but the guy retired and I couldn't get anyone to help me out after that except to offer the steroid treatments. The withdrawal was horrific. So, someone I met recommended that I go to a Methadone Clinic, which I thought was something only for Heroin addicts. To make a long story short, I have been on Methadone since 1989. The Methadone provides relief for only a few hours after I take my daily dose, so I take it just before I go to bed. I'm sick of having to drive 50 miles to go to the clinic once a week to get my weekly takeouts and having to pay $200 a month for what Medicare doesn't cover; especially since I'm on a fixed income from Social Security Disability which is better than nothing, but leaves you in the "Poverty Level" category. I have a 2-1/2 yr. old MRI report; part of which is quoted as follows; L5 - S1: "Central disc protrusion with abutment of the S1 nerve roots, right greater than left." L4 - L5: "Broad based diffuse disk bulge more focal right para-centrally with slight displacement of the right L5 nerve root. Mild central canal stenosis." L3 - L4: "Diffuse disk bulge which is eccentric towards the left foramen where it abuts the left L3 nerve root." I'm not sure of all of the Medical Terminology definitions but I think it says "He's got a little bit of a problem in his lower back.". I only know for certain that I am in extreme pain in my lower back and down both of my legs 18 to 20 hours each day. I got a referral to the doctor that is in my question (Dr. Byung C. Rhee), and would like to know if anyone has seen him, if he provides pain medication instead of steroid injections, or am I just going to be wasting my time again. Please help if you know the answer; or if you know of a doctor in the Southwest Michigan (Battle Creek or Kalamazoo area) who can prescribe meds for my relief. You would be giving me the best Christmas Present that I have had in my life, and I want to thank you in advance for helping me out if you can. I also want to thank any one that took the time to read my question. Best wishes to you all.
Does this make sense? My wife typed this letter a while ago. We started arguing about her going to her friend Jeff's house til 4am. She said I needed to leave if I didn't trust her. Anyway... Here is the letter she typed. What do you make of it? Life Is Good (inspired by nature, touched by God) It's a good life; it is good to be alive. Sometimes I get down; sometimes I am up. There is this crazy web of things going on in my mind. I think about the people around me; and the people that are not around me. Every person with their own life to live; it is a good life for them too. Things can never be as bad as we think they can be. I wonder if anybody ever worries about me. I think I have started down a self destructive path… and I feel myself stuck in it. Stuck in the mud, this is how I am feeling right now. I realize that I have some kind of messed up sense of fault. What I need to pound into my own head, is the only thing in this world that I am in control of is myself. What I really want to do, more than anything right now, is quit everything. I almost desire death. The only thing that keeps me from ending my own life is that it would be really mean to the people that love me. I can not abuse them that bad. I can't bring myself to worry about the afterlife; and that was my biggest worry before. So how do I escape these feelings? Get help, talk to somebody, find someone impartial. Listen, in my opinion, a person that charges $150. an hour & their rules are that their patients must have health insurance is not an impartial party. Shew, I hate money. Nothing in this life sucks as bad as money. Do you know what else sucks? Pity. Self pity is disgusting to me. When other people feel sorry for me, it invokes my own self pity. I hate to cry. I hate to be ugly. I hate it when my eyes are all messed up from crying. It makes me angry when other people cry in self pity. Again, the only thing in this whole world that each individual one of us is in control of is what we choose to do while we are alive. Life is stress, life is anxiety, life is work… but even so, life is good. Maybe I have anger issues. Maybe I need to work on my own self worth. Am I important to anybody? Does anybody love me? Will somebody point me in the direction… where can I find Love Street? I think I have music in my soul. There are so many songs that I relate to so much, in so many ways. You hear people talk about what inspire them. Most people don't talk the way I do; so I will give an example for clarity. I know a chick that is a real church-going person. She whole-heartedly believes in the bible; she believes in God. I have heard her talking about the bible a couple of times; not quoting; but just talking about the bible in general. She said that the thing about the bible is you can read it over and over and over; and each time it has a different meaning… each time she can relate to the bible's teachings differently. This is the way I feel about music. I can get lost, I can be stone sober and trip out, on some good music. There is not much music that I hate. Really. You'll hear me say that I hate a lot of things; but not music. There are some musicians that I hate with a passion; well, I don't hate them as a person, I hate the crappy lyrics mixed with their crappy style… but even with that; when their crappy music comes on the radio; and I can't pick up another station; I listen to them. Sometimes things like that change my mind about the music they made in the first place. Sometimes I listen to some stuff that other people recommend to me, because they like it, and most recommended music I like. Is that because I like my friends and I value their opinion? Maybe. Some music I hate on principal. Pre-judgment is ugly; why would I hate a person's music because of their reputation? I don't know these people… I don't even care about these people's personal lives… but I'll tell you what I do like about them… they share their music with the whole world. So, back to the music of my soul. Right now, my soul is playing mournful tunes. It is a sad violin, it is a slow and steady bongo. It is a tribal woman, dancing around a fire, dancing a slow and wild dance. Yes, I really am in a rut. How do I get out of the rut? I don't know, but I don't want outside help. Why is it not socially acceptable to help yourself mentally, when its not socially acceptable to NOT help yourself physically? Why… when a person is down & out, poor, homeless and drunk, they are looked down upon because they are the dregs of the world; they are talked down to because they are bums. Why is it so terrible that they need alcohol? It may be self-destructive behavior; a bum may be smelly or ugly; but why must he be hated for who he is? Accepting a person does not change him. Accepting the way a person is; changes nothing in this world but the way you look at the world. So… if in fact I was really trying to help my I know Jeff is more than a friend, he called me to tell me he had been "hittin it" in his terminology.
Can you sue your husband? I have a delemma, my husband and i have had a volatile relationship for almost three years now but i have stay because i need help with the kids which are very young. When I had our second son, a year ago, the insurance company covered all the claims except for two which were out of network. So they mailed the two check separately, one for $1100 and the other for $1,600. Since i am covered under him the checks came made out to him and he was to take it to the pay the doctors. Before the checks arrived he called the insurance company and changed his mailing address to a PO Box, so the checks didn't come to the house, infact i didn't know of their existance. As far as i was concerned everyone was paid directly by the insurance company. This was late 2010, it is now 2011 and last week i recieved a letter from a lawyer's office demaning a payment for $2,700 on behalf of my doctor. I am infuriated, when i confronted him he denied ever recieving anything and i called the insurance company and they confirmed the checks and the two different dates they were cashed, which was in 2010. Today i recieved a copy of these checks which even have his signatures of endorsements. Instead of trying to fix the situation he told me that he is not pay anyone anything. That the insurance company shouldn't have sent the check in his name and said quote "this was my problem". Besides him being a good father, I am completely depressed with my life and since i was laid off a year ago i feel trapped. My whole family is overseas and he has manipulated me to push all my friends away, because he was making me feel guitly about having friends. So im completely alone and dependent on him. I want to sue him for this, i want him forced by the court to pay it back or the debt transfered to his name. I have opened many accounts in the past in his request and i am now close to $8,000 in debt, i did this because i was trying to contribute for our family but i cant do this anymore. This is one part numerous problems we have. The only he doesnt do is him me, but other than that i am in hell.
I just don't know what to do anymore? When i met my husband he was amazing. The sweetest guy you would ever meet. Our first fight we got into he cried. He looked at me like there was no one else in the room. When he looked at me his eyes literally lit up. Not only was he super nice he was so cute. I thought i found the one. We got along so well. He knew how to make me laugh harder then i ever laughed before in my life. I felt so warm and comfurtable in his arms. When we were dating I felt like the luckiest woman alive. I met my prince charming. I met the great guy. All of my other boyfriends were ass whole after ass whole. So after a year and I still had those butterflies in my stomach when i saw him. When my heart would melt when he held my hand. And what a gentlemen he even would open the door for me. I truly felt special. No man has ever made me feel that way. The day i said i do was the most magical day of my life. and then in my head the fairy tale would end happily ever after................ Fast forward 4 years. And here i am a stay at home mom. I love it. There is nothing like being there when your child wakes up for breakfast. Seeing every first she has ever done. And being able to put her to bed at night. My husband is the bread winner in our family. And i am the bread maker so to speak. Well for the last year i feel as though our marriage is crumbling. I cry a lot. I don't feel special anymore. That glimmer in his eye is gone. Even when i get all dressed up curl my hair. He doesn't say I look beautiful. He doesn't even look at me twice. when i talk to him about it, it just gets worse. We argue a lot. I don't know what i feel for him anymore. I just feel depressed myself. And he has called me some names that stick with me. I have really low self esteem now. So it would be nice to even get a second look, or get a hey you look pretty. Even a woman with high self esteem still needs someone to care. When i cry he knows. He doesn't comfort me. If one day i don't do the dishes he will say god what the hell did you do all day. I feel i only get attention when he wants to have sex. And then after wards its back to the same old same old. I don't tell anyone what is going on. I want people to think we have a great relationship. I hide the tears and the hurt and i cover it up with a smile. No one really knows what is going on with me. I used to be a fun, out going, smiley person and all i want to do now is crawl in a ball and cry and cry. but i don't. I pretend like the fun happy person is still there and i go on with my life. On his birthday last year i took a sexy picture of myself to spice up our marriage. And gave it to him. His words and i quote. This is weird. And i said why is it weird. And he is like i don't know. you just normally don't do things like this. And i was like well here. And he says what do you want me to do with it? And i said Don't worry i will rip it up. So i took the picture from him. He didn't say no, Stop. Nothing he handed it to me. And i ripped it up. The old him would of been turned on. Most men would think that'd be a really hot present to get. He said this is weird. Boy that made me feel wonderful. I don't want to live this way the rest of my life. I think about leaving him. But then reality kicks in and i realize i have nothing. I have a daughter and two cats. He works the money is his. All of our furniture everything his. Even the clothes on my back he bought. The house i am living in he is paying for. The car i drive. He bought. Even the health insurance we have is from his work. So i tell my self it will get better. Just stick it out a little longer and it doesn't So tonight i say something to him. I tell him how i am feeling. Because it has been really bad lately. He basically blew me off. And then i said what is going to happen to me? And he said what are you talking about. I said when it's all said and done what is going to happen to me. And he's like shut up i am not leaving you. and i said i never said you were. And then he is like well whatever. I have just been really stressed lately. Get over it. Your pretty you should know that. And i said well i don't. And he rolled his eyes at me. And said something like well we both been stressed out and people eat when there stressed. And pointed to his belly. So i said i don't eat when i am stressed. So now your calling me fat. And he said we both gained some weight. WTF! So now i realize i am not getting through to him and he isn't listening or really taking to heart what i have to say. So i went and sat on the couch. My phone rings. It's my dad. And again i am pretending to be the happiest women alive. And in the background my husband is calling me names. And mocking everything i just said to him about how he has been treating me. And then said i better get comfortable on the couch because that is where i will be sleeping tonight. So i got up and put my coat, hat, mittens on. And i walked out. I went for a walk around my whole town. I walked for 2 hours When i camed back in my house. He was asleep in the bed. With out a care in the world. What if something would of happened to me. It's winter out for god sakes you think he would be up waiting so we could talk. Or at least waiting to make sure i am home. Nope he was passed out on our bed with out a care in the world. I am no longer speical. I no longer feel like the luckiest woman alive. I don't know what to do. Advice?
considering calling fiance's ex-wife to say ok to call *aboutthekids* anytime (& yes, btw I am 'the bad guy')? hey folks hey i'm not gonna mince words about this, I am elated to be engaged to be married to an intelligent, tough, tender man to whom I share alot of background, perspectives, dreams for the future and life experiences. He's college educated yet self-educated in the humanities classics and is totally streetwise from the school of hard knocks -- a man's man who has had to overcome alot. He brings to life the list of what I wanted in a life partner; he's my magic man and has taught me so much about love and falling in love. There are things we want to support each other in and absolutely are the people to do so who have the tools to do so. my fiance's previous relationship was dead in the water for some time as their story is they stopped by a court clerk's desk to change their legal status to 'married' some time after their first child (unplanned pregnancy) was born for the purposes of insurance and setting up a household to raise the child, and because they got along well. They were very young. For him, it was not a love match and he was not living the life he wanted. She very much has a small-town way of life and aggressively pursued him, initiating the calls. Nothing wrong with being either from small town or from a big city of course, but he's from a big city and it's differences in vision. He had seen me as his true love, but I was then thousands of miles away. well once he initiated being back in contact with me via internet it was the final straw for his now ex-wife -- she threatened to divorce him and take the kids. But soon after she dug in her heels. She wanted to stay married no matter what til death so it turns out she was just bringing in some good ol fashioned scare/bully tactics with the whole divorce/kids threat. Well eventually she left the house, they were separated, and then he and I finally visited in person, had an amazing 'first date' and began exploring a relationship together and eventually slept together for the first time ever at that point (yes, really. i know, it even amazes me). She filed, and the divorce paperwork got complete. "She hates me" is the general consensus. Fine. I'm not gonna lie to y'all -- in my eyes they were nothing more than glorified roommates/companions anyway, and by several independent accounts, she seemed all too happy to treat him like the third child to raise. *shrug* My *question* -- (thanks for reading the long preamble, I just want to have my cards out on the table -- namely, that I totally and with valid points can be viewed as 'the bad guy') now is that obviously alot of challenges arise for he and I, his ex is quoted as saying she doesn't trust me, she wants nothing to do with me, which is ok and predictable and I am very live and let live -- and of course I realize I had no integrity with the way I allowed him to be in long involved talks with me while still married on paper, and yea it was shitty of me. (I told his ex this as well, told her what I did was very cruel to her.) I have no way of knowing or ensuring what's gonna happen tomorrow so I am well aware there is no such thing as a happy ending, whatever happens happens and I am enjoying my current adventure and standing strong for he and I bringing each other expanding peace, freedom, and union -- is... now that my fiance and I are several states away and living in a new place, we are joint tenants and though we aren't gonna be there forever, we are building our 'home roots' as it were, and we *just* got a landline number, SO... now that I've received reports she has gossiped about me/us, and in my opinion plays hot and cold sort of 'i'll always love you and want you back' / 'you're a horrible person and my life is better without you' games with him... I REALLY want to place a call to her cell phone from our landline *first* so she can hear from me straight from my mouth, civilly, that she is ALWAYS welcomed to call OUR home as they co-parent their 2 children, and here's all our contact numbers, and she has an open line to me as well, and thank you for always caring about the father of your children. What do y'all think about this? Now that he and I are fashioning our home; and I never, not once, called her home when they were married, I feel I need to stand strong and initiate this first call to her cell phone (which she gave me awhile back) to set the tone and precedent and civility. ha, i know this is more like a long prose poem at points than a short Q&A so thanks for reading and *please* be blunt, tough, cutting, diplomatic, full of possibility, kind, devil's advocate, whatever. Whatever it takes to get at what's best. Thank you!
Why don't I have any friends? Hi, I'm a 30 year old, attractive, easy to get along with person. I recentlty got married in 2009, and I feel as though my friends don't like me anymore. I have been close with 2 other girls for about 10+ years. (one of them I have been friends with since kindergarten) I was a maid of honor in friend # 1's wedding, and a bridesmaid in the other's. Anyway, in 2008, one of them decided to get divorced. Of course I was a little disappointed, and told her I thought she should really think about her decison, but I let her know that I supported her in any way possible and that I was clearly on her side. I have to say that I was really hurt when began confiding in the other friend of ours more than me. I was totally kept in the dark during the whole process, where I didn't know ANYTHING!! While it hurt, I was respectful and gave her space, not calling her too much, or asking too many questions. So, these two have grown really really close during the last 3 years, distancing themselves from me totally. I got married in 2009, they were both in my wedding, one of them left my wedding early.......she was the maid of honor! (I was pissed) My bachellorette party was basically thrown without any effort, nothing like I have ever thrown for them. (they have money as they are both teachers) Now friend #2 is getting a divorce too, and same thing......I know NOTHING! I don't even know who these girls are datingnevermind anything else. I own an insurance agency and they have NEVER stepped foot in my office to get a quote! Honestly, I feel they do not like me, so I don't push my way into their little twosome/divorcee/teacher bond. What really made me confront them was last summer Lady Gaga was on tour, and they told me they had bought tickets with another group of girls, and were getting a hotel room, limo, dressing up to the 9's......going all out. I said, "really, thats nice I would have loved to go!" One of them mumbled that they didn't think I wanted to go. At first I wasn't too pissed because I figured they didn't ask me bc I am married now, but when I found out that other girls who were married were going, I flipped! We didnt talk for a few months after that, but now we sort of made up, but still I never talk to them, I know nothing about their lives and they know nothing about mine. It's like an empty shell with nothing inside! Why??? What is wrong with me??? What did I do wrong? I have been so down about my horrible social life, I reached out to some old friends I knew in highschool but have been rejected by them as well. I invited them to my 30th birthday party, and no one showed up! I let that go, rationalizing that maybe they don't feel comfortable coming bc its beeen a while. I went to dinner with them a few weeks later, and had a great time. Just yesterday, I saw pics on FB of one of their wedding showers, that I was not invited to! I guess I am really living in a dreamworld about friendships! What am I doing wrong? Please advise. Sorry so long!

Suicide - Cry For Help? My very good friend, we'll call her Jane, is contemplating suicide - or at least it seems as such... Jane has had a very hard life. She was molested by a family member as a child. Her mother abandoned her family when she was young. She discovered her father's body when she was only 16 after he had committed suicide at their kitchen table. She has very little family and also has a history of drug and alcohol abuse. Needless to say, there is a history of depression in her family as well. She's been on her own for a very long time and is attempting to support herself. She has in her past been a stripper and a porno actress. She gave up drugs, stripping, and porn (but still is an alcoholic). She went to school, got her degree, and is now having an early life crisis because she can't find a job. The fact that she's struggling like Hell to pay her bills is just the tip of the ice-berg. She's somewhat mentally unstable, horribly depressed, and divulged to me tonight that she's considering suicide. She has considered it before and had checked herself into a mental institution. At this institution, she was subjected to abuse and a whole battery of unhealthy experiences. She came out of the institution probably worse off, and since then will not trust any mental health care professionals. We live in a rural area where there is only one (horrible... I mean, just awful...) mental health care institution and she does not want to go back. She left me tonight with a very reliable friend who is staying the night with her, but I'm not sure what to do about the dilemma. Our friend cannot watch her forever and Jane seems to have put serious thought into this matter. She quoted songs she wanted played at her funeral and even noted how she planned to go about the suicide. On one hand, she was very drunk when telling me this. On the other hand, I'm sure she was serious when she mentioned she had really been thinking about it. This is a tough subject. If I called the hospital or authorities, they would take her to that horrible mental health hospital. She has no insurance and is very poor. She couldn't afford anything better than that awful place even if she was willing to go, and as a poor college student I don't have the money to support her either. Is this a lose-lose situation or are there alternatives here that I'm not thinking of? My friend really needs help, and I just don't know what to do for her anymore...
Do you think the GOP is getting violent? Is this what the Republicans have become, are they attacking our country? These are the people you elect into office? The Web site Talking Points Memo quoted an anonymous witness as saying King told a crowd of activists at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., on Saturday that he could “empathize” with suicide pilot Joe Stack. The site also reported that King encouraged his listeners to “implode” other IRS offices. A whole lot has bothered me tonight about the Conservative anarchists. The fact that they try to scare you with death panels when it is doctors only explaining to you what your end of life options are. They can't pull the plug on anyone, only the insurers do that. Wellpoint made $2.8 Billion dollars more last year while raising your premiums 56% They also dropped 2.3 million insured. Anthony Wiener tried to voice his opinion that the Republican were wholly owned by the insurers and his words were stricken from the minutes. An infants parents were informed that they would have to be charged for a clef lip operation because it was a "preexisting condition". Tony Wiener will not be allowed at the Blair House conference tomorrow because he speaks the truth. He is the only one I've seen stand up personally against the GOP and Insurance companies, why should he be exiled? Although your favorite, Harry Reid said it's ridiculous that the Republicans are complaining about Reconciliation. When after all it's been applied 16 out of 22 times by the GOP since 1980. They want to change the rules when they don't benefit them. Newt is another winner, he just called GW a Socialist by his actions. Republicans say that they are interested in reform but have led the Democrats down one dead alley after another. They are being criminal in their actions. I could go on and I will in another rant but you have to know that these Republicans ARE owned by big business and care about you just as much.as them. They are so protective of their money they promote terrorism, what is the matter with you people? Should Keep or Look into term Life Insurance Quotes? I have a whole life policy which I have been paying 45.00 per month for 16 yrs. I have to pay this amount until age 99 so they say. The amount it was for when I bought it was 50,000. It builds cash value. I am now 62. Should I keep this policy or look into term insurance?
How do I find figures and quotes for a Life Insurance Company such as New York Life? How do I find figures and quotes for a Life Insurance Company such as New York Life? We have to look up a life insurance company for econ class and list its quotes and figures for certain ages and term and whole life policies. Yet I have no clue where to find this.
Whole of Life insurance with Profits and Endowment. How does this work? this is regarding a recent question i asked about the Endowment - the reason i ask is due to recently finding my Grans Policy, 11 years after her death. The policy was whole of life with profits and with a periodical endowment, she'd paid it for 30 years from 1966 to 1996 and it was fully paid up. According to the insurance company she was paying £2 per month over that period. The settlement figure they have quoted is £278! which seems ridiculously low.

Yeah, I've seen that stupid story and it doesn't apply to what is happening today. That is the full domination of an entire class by corporate Jackals and the Republicans that work for them. They are too stupid to realize once they bleed someone to death there is nothing left to gain from them. And that is what they are doing to the entire country, splitting it up amongst the upper 10% while we fight for survival outside their gated communities. Cons are ignorant. Reason Enforcer, King admitted to it on video on CNN tonight. I'm sure that's not credible enough for you though.
How do i go about Ammending/revising a divorce decree? I got divorced in the state of Ga in 2006. 1 child, i have physical custody. I need to have my decree amended for the following things: 1. It says and i quote " if father wishes mother to pay for a portion of visitation travel costs, 1 months notice must be given" It does not state i MUST pay, or how much. . .This was never an issue since I've always just met him half way the few times he did see his daughter. Now that we live in upstate ny ( we have been residents here for a year and a half) plane tickets are needed. I want that little blurb taken out totally. I want it to state that if he wants to see his kid, it has to be 100% on his dime - He is pressuring me to pay HALF since i refuse to let a 5 year old fly unaccompanied halfway across the country. I want a stipulation that says she absolutely will NOT fly unaccompanied until both her father and I mututally agree she is ready. . . he does ( imagine that, he wants to save a buck) and I do NOT. - It states that he was to pay medical insurance for my daughter. he has never provided this for her, and we have had to pay out of pocket for her medical since the decree was finalized in 2006. Is there anything i can do about that??? - His child support was based on the base pay of an E-3 in the military. He has since been pushed out of the military for higher ten year ( ie, couldnt make rank) and has gotten a better paying civilian job. Can i alter his child support to reflect his change in pay?? - I want to ammend summer visitation to only two 10-14 day visits. The reasoning being my ex husband only calls my daughter 2-3 times YEARLY and sees her about once a year. She has been getting very emotional about the upcoming christmas visit to him once she found out that she would not be staying at her paternal grandmother's house, and I don't want to force her to go. . . if she's having a fit about 14 days, she's going to have a heart attack over the whole summer. I think her wishes should be considered. - I want a stipulation that says if anything happens to me, she will reside with her step father and brother, with the same visitation with her biological father as when i was alive. As i said, they talk 3 times yearly and see eachother 1ce a year on average. She's very close with her little brother and i want to have the peace of mind that her and her brother will not be separated. her biological father and i separated when she was 3 months old. My current husband has been in her life as a parent figure since she was 1. is this stipulation feasable?? Thanks so much in advance. . . if anyone can just take me through the motions of what i need to do i'd be forever grateful!!! PS-- the final decree took place in Ga. . . not sure if i stated that or not. We now live in upstate nY. MY current husband is military if that matters. . . and for whoever said this divorce was "typical" thanks moron for only answering for the points. . I've had a lawyer tell me it is abnormal for the custodial parent to pay for any of the travel costs whatsoever.
Instant Whole Life Insurance Quote Question? What are some cool instant whole life insurance quote sites you have to share? I've looked around a bit but I figured I'd ask here. Any link you can share will be appreciated.
Self-described conservatives and Republicans, do you know who spoke this quote? "We stand for a living wage. Wages are subnormal if they fail to provide a living for those who devote their time and energy to industrial occupations. The monetary equivalent of a living wage varies according to local conditions, but must include enough to secure the elements of a normal standard of living--a standard high enough to make morality possible, to provide for education and recreation, to care for immature members of the family, to maintain the family during periods of sickness, and to permit of reasonable saving for old age." "It is abnormal for any industry to throw back upon the community the human wreckage due to its wear and tear, and the hazzards of sickness, accident, invalidism, involuntary unemployment, and old age should be provided for through insurance. This should be made a charge in whole or in part upon the industries the employer, the employee, and perhaps the people at large, to contribute severally in some degree. Wherever such standards are not met by given establishments, by given industries, are unprovided for by a legislature, or are balked by unenlightened courts, the workers are in jeopardy, the progressive employer is penalized, and the community pays a heavy cost in lessened efficiency and in misery. What Germany has done in the way of old age pensions or insurance should be studied by us, and the system adapted to our uses, with whatever modifications are rendered necessary by our different ways of life and habits of thought." Comrade Obama, you say? Think again. http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/mp3s/2000/2682/cusb-cyl2682d.mp3 http://teachingamericanhistory.org/library/index.asp?document=613
Another car wreck question.? OK on Friday the 4th my husband and I were invited to a cookout and fireworks at his cousin's house, where she lives with her kid and boyfriend. We live out of town and she told me to park in my car behind theirs so that the fireworks wouldn't hit our car. His cousin and I were sitting inside playing the wii, and her boyfriend comes in and says," damn it, I'll trade insurance info with you in the morning," We were going to stay the night. When he said that it took a minute to figure out that he hit our car. Well, we went outside and looked and it's the whole side panel on the passenger side. He had been drinking and they ( my husband and the boyfriend) decided that he would just pay out of pocket. Because he it was family and my husband didn't want to start any crap between them. Well I went and got a quote yesterday and emailed it to him. He called and said that it was too much and that it could be fixed cheaper. And I told him I didn't care if it cost 50 cents or 500 dollar I just wanted my car fixed the right way. He said that if all the quotes are too much that he wants us to some up this weekend and we will call the cops and go through the insurance. I want my car fixed right, not by some second hand used parts paint barely matches kind of guy. Our car is a brand new 2008 chevy cobalt. His is a 2007 Scion. What should I do to keep peace between that family and still get my car fixed?? Here is a picture of what he did to our car. The quote I got from the dealership was $1,540.42 http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x256/greenrose1922/SD530941.jpg I have his plate number but will I get in trouble for not reporting right away and will I get charged with leaving the scene of the accident?
Dilemma: Whole Life or Term Life Insurance? I'm trying to get insurance for my mom through Colonial Penn. I'm so lost right now. If something happens to her I want all of burial cost to be covered. She's 48 with minor health problems. I got a quote for Whole Life $60.48, Term Life $18.45. Big difference. I've been reading that Whole Life insurance ia a rip-off but I'm still confused. Can you guys please help me. Thanks a bunch! :
Should I get Whole Life or Universal Life insurance? My husband and I need life insurance. We are in our early 30's and we are thinking about the future. I want insurance for the long run. My quote for whole life was almost double the premium for Universal. I have read a lot on here about universal and it's negative. So I don't know which one to go for. Also, was thinking about getting life insurance on my children. I was going to get a 15 pay life policy. I pay very low premiums for 15 years then it is theirs to keep without other payments. Thought it would be a nice gift, any info on that?
How much would I pay (approximately) for whole life insurance? I'm 49, don't smoke, 6' 3" and 210 pounds. high blood pressure wellc ontrolled on medication and no other health problems. Married, professional, no risky behaviors. Parents alive in their late 70s and grandparents all lived to mid 70s to 90s. How much should I expect to pay per thousand of coverage for flat whole life insurance? I don't want a quote or to send personal info on the net, like web sites want. I just want a ballpark. Anyone out there able to give me an idea, +/- 10% or so. Thanks.
I think I need life insurance but I can't afford it. How do I save money on life insurance? I want a policy that will last until my boy's out of college, which will probably be 20 years from now max. I know I don't want Whole Life - it's too expensive. So far the cheapest quote I've found was here: http://quotesource.net/life-insurance/ Does anyone have anymore ideas? I'm a single mom and want the cheapest policy possible that will help my boy pay for college if something happens to me.
Where is a website that gives you life insurance quotes instantly? I've been looking all afternoon for a site that you can fill out your information and get a quote instantly. I need this for a school project, but I've been given the run around on sites, had one demand payment before telling me the terms (didn't give them any bank or credit info for that) one that said they didn't have anything in my area for me, but had the nerve to call anyway and they couldn't get off the phone fast enough when I said it was for school(that was the main reason I opted for the online research- I don't like talking on the phone with people who assume I know nothing and they can take advantage of me). I've already comprise a sites I'll never buy insurance from, but my teacher wants quotes from 2 companies on both term and whole life insurance. Please help!

A non service connected Veteran is someone who is dying from cancer crawling on the floor to the bathrooms because they have no medical insurance, or screaming from flashbacks from wars of 20 years ago because the left the exact same service and the exact same war many after 4 years of service and if there $637 ssi check from social security comes in the veteran's office cuts their vet check out to:$5 a month, no health ins. Service connected vets who have incomes triple the amount of non service connected vets get free house taxes in some counties in some states: house taxes should go by income only. The lower the income the lower the taxes should be. the country is only full of freedom for some people my dream job would be to be a news paper reporter or talk show host someone like dear abby, since the position of God was filled or I would have shoved my foot up hog rear ends years ago.
Divorce or Forgive? 16 years, 3 children, and Bi-Polar involved? I am heart-broken!! I have been married to my wife for 16 years (half my life). We have had our ups and downs like any other marriage and we have even separated for unrelated (to this) reasons. The separations were when my oldest was around 4 or 5, she is now 14. My wife suffers from Bi-polar disorder and has been hospitalized numerous times for depression. Each time I have stood by her and we have come out licking our wounds and tending to the pain we each suffered through the ordeal. I am in the military and my issue begins while my family was stationed in England. Due to my wife's "condition" we were forced by Tri-Care (our health insurance) to move back to the US. This was 2 years ago and my wife has yet to forgive herself for "ruining our lives" (her quote not mine). She and my children never adjusted to life in England and therefore none of them were truly happy. Of course, they all miss it now. My wife seemed to being doing better until recently ... My wife got her first job when we arrived at our new base and has been working for 1.5 years now (I congratulate her constantly). She was never able to handle the pressure of going to work and this was a huge improvement in her well-being. Only thing I worried about ... prowling men! My wife feels she is ugly and unwanted (normal feelings for bi-polar & people in general), so a compliment here and a giggle there is enough that she can (could) develop a friendship easily (or an enemy). Well the cute, cool, womanizer caught my wife in his net and drew her in back in June of this year. Nothing happened between them more than friendly banter until June. When he asked her what color her underwear were online one night while im'ing. (Before finding this out he was nothing more than a friend and my children had even met him). My wife felt so guilty over allowing the IM to flourish that she attempted suicide to erase her guilt. While we were in the emergency room she told me about what had happened and that she was "intoxicated" on her nighttime medications, and that she was truly sorry and regretful. I was hurt of course, but I know that mistakes happen. So I let her cool off and get the help she needed and I supported her through it. She was released from the hospital and agreed that she would never talk to the man again. Like I said though ... she is bi-polar and her emotions can quickly overcome her. One day in July or August she again over-dosed. When I asked her why she would do this she said it was because she wanted to talk to the guy because she missed their original "FRIENDS ONLY" relationship. I informed her that because of the cyber-sex I was uneasy with their relationship even as friends, because I knew he wanted more and she is gullible and easily manipulated emotionally. After she was released from the hospital this time I asked her to begin looking for another job, transfer, or take a vacation to visit her family. She informed me that everything would be fine and we talked with her employer to attempt to arrange her schedule to avoid this man as much as possible (my wife is a manager, but not his), so at times they MUST interact. Now after my history my problem .... On Nov 3-6th my wife began acting depressed again and took 3-4 sleeping pills. When I confronted her she said that the guy had began talking to her again and he followed her to the parking lot while talking. They almost kissed. I was FURIOUS, but once again I allowed her "mental health" to control my emotions and I forgave her and BEGGED once again that she NEVER talked to him again. She swore that she wouldn't and we seemed fine, but her depression lingered. She blamed it on guilt and the holidays and then she emailed the guy calling him a p.o.s. and told him to not talk to her again (I guess he had been pitching jokes here and there again). BTW: All this time I avoided the "kill the other man" instincts, because of my children and my utter devotion to my wife. I admit I am deeply in love with her and wanted undeniably to spend eternity with her. Turns out though that 3 days ago she again took 30+ sleeping pills and the "almost kiss" was actually "REAL ORAL". I proceeded to have her removed from my home for cheating on me. Until this day an UNFORGIVABLE ACT in my eyes. She flew home to her family today and I am heart-broken and unsure of where to turn. I know I will pray a whole bunch this weekend and I will be seeing my therapist (I talk mostly about my wife and how to deal with Bi-Polar), but that doesn't take her act away nor does it allow me to forgive her. I KNOW I LOVE her though and I don't know how I will continue life without her. I (we) have our children to consider (age 8-14) and I am under a cloud of hate and love. Do I forgive her? Do I accept the "bi-polar" excuse? Do I say enough is enough? Do I keep the children (I am military and could be deployed) or do I forfeit custody to her? I wish I could talk to GOD and hear and know what his answer is. I feel so
Those, who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor? I have heard this quoted by Roosevelt. re: Re: giving up our freedoms. What was he really saying? I just don't take it the way it gets quoted. Not looking for an argument looking for a discussion. thanks Our Documents: Franklin Roosevelt's Annual Address to Congress - The "Four Freedoms" January 6, 1941 Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, Members of the Seventy-seventh Congress: I address you, the Members of the Seventy-seventh Congress, at a moment unprecedented in the history of the Union. I use the word "unprecedented," because at no previous time has American security been as seriously threatened from without as it is today. Since the permanent formation of our Government under the Constitution, in 1789, most of the periods of crisis in our history have related to our domestic affairs. Fortunately, only one of these--the four-year War Between the States--ever threatened our national unity. Today, thank God, one hundred and thirty million Americans, in forty-eight States, have forgotten points of the compass in our national unity. It is true that prior to 1914 the United States often had been disturbed by events in other Continents. We had even engaged in two wars with European nations and in a number of undeclared wars in the West Indies, in the Mediterranean and in the Pacific for the maintenance of American rights and for the principles of peaceful commerce. But in no case had a serious threat been raised against our national safety or our continued independence. What I seek to convey is the historic truth that the United States as a nation has at all times maintained clear, definite opposition, to any attempt to lock us in behind an ancient Chinese wall while the procession of civilization went past. Today, thinking of our children and of their children, we oppose enforced isolation for ourselves or for any other part of the Americas. That determination of ours, extending over all these years, was proved, for example, during the quarter century of wars following the French Revolution. While the Napoleonic struggles did threaten interests of the United States because of the French foothold in the West Indies and in Louisiana, and while we engaged in the War of 1812 to vindicate our right to peaceful trade, it is nevertheless clear that neither France nor Great Britain, nor any other nation, was aiming at domination of the whole world. In like fashion from 1815 to 1914-- ninety-nine years-- no single war in Europe or in Asia constituted a real threat against our future or against the future of any other American nation. Except in the Maximilian interlude in Mexico, no foreign power sought to establish itself in this Hemisphere; and the strength of the British fleet in the Atlantic has been a friendly strength. It is still a friendly strength. Even when the World War broke out in 1914, it seemed to contain only small threat of danger to our own American future. But, as time went on, the American people began to visualize what the downfall of democratic nations might mean to our own democracy. We need not overemphasize imperfections in the Peace of Versailles. We need not harp on failure of the democracies to deal with problems of world reconstruction. We should remember that the Peace of 1919 was far less unjust than the kind of "pacification" which began even before Munich, and which is being carried on under the new order of tyranny that seeks to spread over every continent today. The American people have unalterably set their faces against that tyranny. Every realist knows that the democratic way of life is at this moment being' directly assailed in every part of the world--assailed either by arms, or by secret spreading of poisonous propaganda by those who seek to destroy unity and promote discord in nations that are still at peace. During sixteen long months this assault has blotted out the whole pattern of democratic life in an appalling number of independent nations, great and small. The assailants are still on the march, threatening other nations, great and small. Therefore, as your President, performing my constitutional duty to "give to the Congress information of the state of the Union," I find it, unhappily, necessary to report that the future and the safety of our country and of our democracy are overwhelmingly involved in events far beyond our borders. Armed defense of democratic existence is now being gallantly waged in four continents. If that defense fails, all the population and all the resources of Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia will be dominated by the conquerors. Let us remember that the total of those populations and their resources in those four continents greatly exceeds the sum total of the population and the resources of the whole of the Western Hemisphere-many times over. In times like these it is immature--and incidentally, untrue--for anybody to brag that an unprepared America, single-handed, and with one hand tied behind its back, can hold off the whole world. No realistic American can expect from a dictator's peace international generosity, or return of true independence, or world disarmament, or freedom of expression, or freedom of religion -or even good business. Such a peace would bring no security for us or for our neighbors. "Those, who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." As a nation, we may take pride in the fact that we are softhearted; but we cannot afford to be soft-headed. We must always be wary of those who with sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal preach the "ism" of appeasement. We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests. I have recently pointed out how quickly the tempo of modern warfare could bring into our very midst the physical attack which we must eventually expect if the dictator nations win this war. There is much loose talk of our immunity from immediate and direct invasion from across the seas. Obviously, as long as the British Navy retains its power, no such danger exists. Even if there were no British Navy, it is not probable that any enemy would be stupid enough to attack us by landing troops in the United States from across thousands of miles of ocean, until it had acquired strategic bases from which to operate. But we learn much from the lessons of the past years in Europe-particularly the lesson of Norway, whose essential seaports were captured by treachery and surprise built up over a series of years. The first phase of the invasion of this Hemisphere would not be the landing of regular troops. The necessary strategic points would be occupied by secret agents and their dupes- and great numbers of them are already here, and in Latin America. As long as the aggressor nations maintain the offensive, they-not we--will choose the time and the place and the method of their attack. That is why the future of all the American Republics is today in serious danger. That is why this Annual Message to the Congress is unique in our history. That is why every member of the Executive Branch of the Government and every member of the Congress faces great responsibility and great accountability. The need of the moment is that our actions and our policy should be devoted primarily-almost exclusively--to meeting this foreign peril. For all our domestic problems are now a part of the great emergency. Just as our national policy in internal affairs has been based upon a decent respect for the rights and the dignity of all our fellow men within our gates, so our national policy in foreign affairs has been based on a decent respect for the rights and dignity of all nations, large and small. And the justice of morality must and will win in the end. Our national policy is this: First, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to all-inclusive national defense. Second, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to full support of all those resolute peoples, everywhere, who are resisting aggression and are thereby keeping war away from our Hemisphere. By this support, we express our determination that the democratic cause shall prevail; and we strengthen the defense and the security of our own nation. Third, by an impressive expression of the public will and without regard to partisanship, we are committed to the proposition that principles of morality and considerations for our own security will never permit us to acquiesce in a peace dictated by aggressors and sponsored by appeasers. We know that enduring peace cannot be bought at the cost of other people's freedom. In the recent national election there was no substantial difference between the two great parties in respect to that national policy. No issue was fought out on this line before the American electorate. Today it is abundantly evident that American citizens everywhere are demanding and supporting speedy and complete action in recognition of obvious danger. Therefore, the immediate need is a swift and driving increase in our armament production. Leaders of industry and labor have responded to our summons. Goals of speed have been set. In some cases these goals are being reached ahead of time; in some cases we are on schedule; in other cases there are slight but not serious delays; and in some cases--and I am sorry to say very important cases--we are all concerned by the slowness of the accomplishment of our plans. The Army and Navy, however, have made substantial progress during the past year. Actual experience is improving and speeding up our methods of production with every passing day. And today's best is not good enough for tomorrow. I am not satisfied with the progress thus far made. The men in charge of the program represent the best in training, in ability, and in patriotism. They are not satisfied with the progress thus far made. None of us will be satisfied until the job is done. No matter whether the original goal was set too high or too low, our objective is quicker and better results. To give you two illustrations: We are behind schedule in turning out finished airplanes; we are working day and night to solve the innumerable problems and to catch up. We are ahead of schedule in building warships but we are working to get even further ahead of that schedule. To change a whole nation from a basis of peacetime production of implements of peace to a basis of wartime production of implements of war is no small task. And the greatest difficulty comes at the beginning of the program, when new tools, new plant facilities, new assembly lines, and new ship ways must first be constructed before the actual materiel begins to flow steadily and speedily from them. The Congress, of course, must rightly keep itself informed at all times of the progress of the program. However, there is certain information, as the Congress itself will readily recognize, which, in the interests of our own security and those of the nations that we are supporting, must of needs be kept in confidence. New circumstances are constantly begetting new needs for our safety. I shall ask this Congress for greatly increased new appropriations and authorizations to carry on what we have begun. I also ask this Congress for authority and for funds sufficient to manufacture additional munitions and war supplies of many kinds, to be turned over to those nations which are now in actual war with aggressor nations. Our most useful and immediate role is to act as an arsenal for them as well as for ourselves. They do not need man power, but they do need billions of dollars worth of the weapons of defense. The time is near when they will not be able to pay for them all in ready cash. We cannot, and we will not, tell them that they must surrender, merely because of present inability to pay for the weapons which we know they must have. I do not recommend that we make them a loan of dollars with which to pay for these weapons--a loan to be repaid in dollars. I recommend that we make it possible for those nations to continue to obtain war materials in the United States, fitting their orders into our own program. Nearly all their materiel would, if the time ever came, be useful for our own defense. Taking counsel of expert military and naval authorities, considering what is best for our own security, we are free to decide how much should be kept here and how much should be sent abroad to our friends who by their determined and heroic resistance are giving us time in which to make ready our own defense. For what we send abroad, we shall be repaid within a reasonable time following the close of hostilities, in similar materials, or, at our option, in other goods of many kinds, which they can produce and which we need. Let us say to the democracies: "We Americans are vitally concerned in your defense of freedom. We are putting forth our energies, our resources and our organizing powers to give you the strength to regain and maintain a free world. We shall send you, in ever-increasing numbers, ships, planes, tanks, guns. This is our purpose and our pledge." In fulfillment of this purpose we will not be intimidated by the threats of dictators that they will regard as a breach of international law or as an act of war our aid to the democracies which dare to resist their aggression. Such aid is not an act of war, even if a dictator should unilaterally proclaim it so to be. When the dictators, if the dictators, are ready to make war upon us, they will not wait for an act of war on our part. They did not wait for Norway or Belgium or the Netherlands to commit an act of war. Their only interest is in a new one-way international law, which lacks mutuality in its observance, and, therefore, becomes an instrument of oppression. The happiness of future generations of Americans may well depend upon how effective and how immediate we can make our aid felt. No one can tell the exact character of the emergency situations that we may be called upon to meet. The Nation's hands must not be tied when the Nation's life is in danger. We must all prepare to make the sacrifices that the emergency-almost as serious as war itself--demands. Whatever stands in the way of speed and efficiency in defense preparations must give way to the national need. A free nation has the right to expect full cooperation from all groups. A free nation has the right to look to the leaders of business, of labor, and of agriculture to take the lead in stimulating effort, not among other groups but within their own groups. The best way of dealing with the few slackers or trouble makers in our midst is, first, to shame them by patriotic example, and, if that fails, to use the sovereignty of Government to save Government. As men do not live by bread alone, they do not fight by armaments alone. Those who man our defenses, and those behind them who build our defenses, must have the stamina and the courage which come from unshakable belief in the manner of life which they are defending. The mighty action that we are calling for cannot be based on a disregard of all things worth fighting for. The Nation takes great satisfaction and much strength from the things which have been done to make its people conscious of their individual stake in the preservation of democratic life in America. Those things have toughened the fibre of our people, have renewed their faith and strengthened their devotion to the institutions we make ready to protect. Certainly this is no time for any of us to stop thinking about the social and economic problems which are the root cause of the social revolution which is today a supreme factor in the world. For there is nothing mysterious about the foundations of a healthy and strong democracy. The basic things expected by our people of their political and economic systems are simple. They are: Equality of opportunity for youth and for others. Jobs for those who can work. Security for those who need it. The ending of special privilege for the few. The preservation of civil liberties for all. The enjoyment of the fruits of scientific progress in a wider and constantly rising standard of living. These are the simple, basic things that must never be lost sight of in the turmoil and unbelievable complexity of our modern world. The inner and abiding strength of our economic and political systems is dependent upon the degree to which they fulfill these expectations. Many subjects connected with our social economy call for immediate improvement. As examples: We should bring more citizens under the coverage of old-age pensions and unemployment insurance. We should widen the opportunities for adequate medical care. We should plan a better system by which persons deserving or needing gainful employment may obtain it. I have called for personal sacrifice. I am assured of the willingness of almost all Americans to respond to that call. A part of the sacrifice means the payment of more money in taxes. In my Budget Message I shall recommend that a greater portion of this great defense program be paid for from taxation than we are paying today. No person should try, or be allowed, to get rich out of this program; and the principle of tax payments in accordance with ability to pay should be constantly before our eyes to guide our legislation. If the Congress maintains these principles, the voters, putting patriotism ahead of pocketbooks, will give you their applause. In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression--everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way--everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want--which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants-everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear--which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor--anywhere in the world. That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb. To that new order we oppose the greater conception--the moral order. A good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear. Since the beginning of our American history, we have been engaged in change -- in a perpetual peaceful revolution -- a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly adjusting itself to changing conditions--without the concentration camp or the quick-lime in the ditch. The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, working together in a friendly, civilized society. This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women; and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights or keep them. Our strength is our unity of purpose. To that high concept there can be no end save victory. Nosey girl lol. yes I do have alot of time on my hands. for those of you who have answered thank you. The way I took what he said was less about our personal freedom and more about letting others do our fighting for us. but that's just me.

What happened to her? Did she get scared? Known this girl since we were 4-5, spent most of our lives seperated... i messaged her back around December 17th last year, we started talking all the time long distance, I moved from a former life in WA to FL to try starting a life with her, she lives in GA so I had to go up there, I'm 22/M and she's 21/F, she lives at home and I moved back home temporarily to get up to her. Anyway we go for about 2 months just talking on the phone all night every night, then finally just a week ago today I go see her in person, which we havn't seen each other in 6 years. We're electrified by the sight of each other, immideatly embracing and kissing each other, I go in to meet her parents, they don't seem to keen on me. i take her back to a relatives house to meet mine, they love her to death. Anyway that night me, her, my cousin and his wife all go out on a double date night to taco bell, the movies then wall-mart (wal-mart was her idea), we had a great time. The following days I decide to stay a week longer with relatives while my parents go back to FL, I tell her and she's excited to death. Problem is I have no car during this time and my grandfather doesn't let anyone use his truck due to insurance. She has to rely on using her grandmothers jeep and we both live a good 20 miles apart or so. Anyway the next few days things go quiet all of a sudden, shes not calling or texting, I call her and ask what's going on, she has to cover for her sisters work shift, i say ok ill come see you, i go to her work and linger around there all night and we sit and talk, she introduces me to her friends. They leave and we're alone until customers come in, I made a few blunders here she didnt like, i walk behind the counter and untie her apron as a prank, which i find out later she didnt appreciate much, i only did it because she kept untying my shoes at the movies. Anyway I go home around 4AM, the next couple days i hear nothing back from her, she said she'd come by and pick me up and we could go do something the next night, nothing happens, i call and she says theres a lot of arguing about "education" between her and her parents, im like ok no biggy, the next day im i convince my grandpa to take us to eat dinner where she works, the whole time my cousins ragging on me not to smother her. i get pissed at him and storm out. She comes out and talks to me and i apologize for playing offensive music and running a couple customers off, she tells me im a little bit smothering and shes a very space needing person. I apologize again and she replies she still loves me and kisses me goodbye, this is the last time i'd see her and probably ever will... The last few days i hear nothing from her at all, i call the next night telling her i was gonna try walking to her house to see her, which she replies "not a good time, its like a war zone here the last few days", i say ok nevermind and turn back. The last night there my cousin told me what she told him in private, that she took ofence to some things i did, this is when i found out about it... i frantically call her and leave 2 messages on her cell phone profusley apologizing for it and asking her why didnt she tell me sooner. i call her one last time and she answers with "ive been meaning to talk to you about this, i feel we rushed into the relationship, both of us, its nothing you did wrong, im just not ready for something this intense yet, i want us to start off as friends and see where it goes from there, I really want to include you in my social circle and hang around with me and my friends, i still love you, i just need a few days space" That's technically a break up, i ask her, what happened to all our plans? she promised we could hang out valentines day, but loe and behold, nothing happened, i called and left her a message and text message reminding her about it subtly, no calls back since then, at this point im feeling petty let down, we had made big plans to save up and move into our own place together, all of a sudden she has to sign up for college and ignore me completly. I feel like it has something to do with her parents not liking the idea, i even suggested she come back to florida with me for a bit and she really liked that idea, but suddenly changed her mind entirley. Was it me? I get back home not hearing from her for almost a week now, her entire myspace page shes removed all mention and photos of me except one quote: "Forget me not lest i forget myself", im still on her top friends list, as well as yahoo and everywhere else, i see her online but im to afraid to message her for fear of intruding on her space. I don't want to in hopes she might come around and call me, but for some reason i doubt ill ever hear from her again, at the same time i get the feeling like shes trying to live life without me compltley like she doesnt want me in it at all. I don't get it, when we were dating she felt like we weren't rushing, now we are? if she really wants to remain friends as she say ive asked everyone about this whole thing, they all say the same "leave her alone shell come around", i feel in my heart like its not over between us, a few more years down the road maybe... i just want to hear from her again but dont think i will anytime soon, if i call her id be bugging her, she always told me how happy i made her. She has lots of trust issues from past relationships, one guy cheated on her twice and got another girl pregnant, another man let her move in only for sex and forced her to raise his kid alone, she also went through a bad divorce of her parents at 13, shes afraid to fall in love for fear of getting hurt. im afraid to go without love because i need someone to be affectionate towards me a lot. and shes very spacey person, i like to be smothered. why is she ignoring me completly? is it just a cool down from a relationship? I know she has a lot of trust issues wit hpast relationships, one serious relationship the guy cheated on her twice and got another girl pregnant, and another only let her move in with him for sex, that and her parents went through a real bad divorce when she was 13. I told her theres nothing to be afraid of, i get the feeling like she was scared, and i was too possesive of her and got terrified of losing her, and i did... hence why i left frantic messages, im a clingy type, borderline personality kind of. shes afraid of falling in love for fear of getting hurt, and im afraid to lose a love, i need to feel love. I want her to come around, if i leave her alone long ebough will she? I' tempted to move up there in the town next to hers so we can hang out sometimes if she wants, i cant stand living at home, shes going to college right now and i need to decide what i want to do, ive done no college thus far in my maybe she feels im not worth her time or effort, then why would she say she still loves me? Shes listed herself as single everywhere and not looking, ive done the same, just single though. my mind keps running circles thinking about all of it, maybe it was just to big a commitment for her right now, we were both immature, like high school kids, i want to call her and tell her i still love her and would love to hang around with her as just friends even, neither of us want to break the bond we have, but it feels like shes trying to break it, yet im still on her top friends lists, so she hasnt blocked me (yet). I've asked everyone for advice, and they've all told me the same thing, "leave her alone and she'll come around." The whole week was bad, my cousins wife got so mad at him she ran out on him, but now they're working things out, a week later she broke up with me and is taking me out of the picture it feels like. What to do? She must not care about me too much, if she missed me as much as i miss her, you'd think she'd call me or something... /shrug
Can someone read a policy i created for an advocacy speech? it regards California and the budget crisis. ? As many of you know, our budget here in California is minimal. We have had to cut down funding on the most on education with cuts starting at 4.8 billion, a proposed number that is getting worse and worse. class sizes have increased by as much as a third, we’ve lost reading specialists, counselors, class variety, transportation, and programs. Reading specialists are vital for those who need extra help, a school cannot be run well without good councelors, it is very difficult to get to school without the help of buses. Worst of all, many electives have been cut. At my own high school, as well as other high schools here in Bakersfield, our forensics classes were cut, or on the verge of being cut. Other electives like journalism, drama, and yearbook were also being considered to be cut. We cannot go on like this, the future of our country is at stake. We need these preparatory electives to teach us valuable life skills, and to prepare us for the real working world! And although it’s clear there are extraordinary challenges in balancing the state’s budget, I strongly oppose our current budget proposal. It makes no sense that California’s K-12 academic and performance standards are among the most challenging in the nation, yet California spends $1,900 less per student than the national average. New York for example, spends 75% more than us on education. The governor’s budget reductions would be disastrous to public schools and the cuts are inconsistent with the state’s goal of improving student achievement. Laying off our best and brightest young teachers is unforgivable and appalling to me. Increasing class size and further eroding the support system for students and we’ve got some of the most overcrowded classrooms and the greatest shortages of librarians, and support staff in the nation! We the students are the future of America, and therefore education is the last thing we should be cutting! There is nothing more important that education, which makes the current budget absolutely irresponsible and ludicrous. To solve for this huge issue at hand, I would like to shine light on other issues that can be fixed, and in fixing them, we can solve our education spending problem. The California prison budget. Usually, to come up with money, our government would have to either A: raise taxes, or B: Cut from valuable programs. I don’t wish to raise taxes, they are already high enough! And I don’t want to cut from other programs, that would just mean digging ourselves into an even bigger whole. Instead, i have researched and found a way a better action to advocate: The adjustment of our prison budget to move money to schools so we can get back on track. Currently, California will spend $7.4 billion to build new prison beds, meaning that while our schools are suffering, child molesters, murders, and drug dealers will be enjoying their new beds provided by none other than your tax dollars! “I don't think it's a good thing, It's unfortunate.” End Quote.- Michael Genest, Gov. Schwarzenegger's finance director. This is completely ridiculous, and it gets worse. While in prison, inmates receive personal attention from guidance counselors intended to teach them to live healthy, productive lives so they can get back on track. But with a whopping 42% of Californian inmates returning to prison various times, it’s quite obvious that this is not working. On the contrary, many of these criminals want to come back. And why wouldn’t they? They receive top of the line health care. “A child molester had cancer in the esophagus and we were ordered by state procedure to transport him all the way to UCLA so he could receive the best care possible.” Paul Holguin, Wasco State Prison. This specific treatment to California’s filth cost us taxpayers 40,000 per visit. Meanwhile, our education system is getting money cut. If we could prioritize the future of California over the scum of California, we would be able to see a much brighter prospect for America. Inmates also receive full dental benefits. They go to the eye doctor, get glasses ect… Basically, anything you get with good health insurance, they get better. Recently, inmates receive physical therapy for injuries not related to prison such as those gotten in high school days like football accidents. Recently, a group of 8 inmates were taken on an overnight stay for “sleep apnia treatment” in a hotel like setting with a nice room, warm comfortable surroundings. In response an inmate was quoted saying the following “This has got to be the nicest place I’ve ever stayed!” Paying for their unearned medical benefits is not the only thing you pay for because for every inmate taken on one of these outings, two officers must be payed overtime if necessary, amounting to an average of 24 dollars per hour. If an inmate puts in a request to see a doctor for any reason, he must be seen within 24 hours, no matter what, whereas law abiding citizens may have to wait weeks to see the doctor. Inmates rece
Another car wreck question.....? OK on Friday the 4th my husband and I were invited to a cookout and fireworks at his cousin's house, where she lives with her kid and boyfriend. We live out of town and she told me to park my car behind theirs so that the fireworks wouldn't hit our car. His cousin and I were sitting inside, and her boyfriend comes in and says," damn it, I'll trade insurance info with you in the morning," We were going to stay the night. But we didn't. When he said that it took a minute to figure out that he hit our car. Well, we went outside and looked and it's the whole side panel on the passenger side. He had been drinking and they ( my husband and the boyfriend) decided that he would just pay out of pocket. Because he was family and my husband didn't want to start any crap between them. Well I went and got a quote yesterday and emailed it to him. He called and said that it was too much and that it could be fixed cheaper. And I told him I didn't care if it cost 50 cents or 500 dollars.... I just wanted my car fixed the right way. The quote I got from the dealership was $1,540.42 I have his plate number but will I get in trouble for not reporting right away and will I get charged with leaving the scene of the accident? http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x256/greenrose1922/SD530941.jpg
Any input is appreciated.

insurance cost on a used ferrari? in the not 2 distant future i plan on buying a used ferrari around no higher than $100,000. i was talking 2 a regular customer that came into my work 2day and he said the insurance on his mercedes and jaguar are already high so imagine the cost of a ferrari. so i decided i might as well find out the cost 1st. i plan on paying most or all of the cost at once (if it makes a difference). im hoping 2 get a 360 modena, not red colored. i live in california. i am 20 years old and got my license when i was 18. had a accident when i was 18 and tons of tickets. only parking tickets from 19 to now. currently have a 92 300zx and the cost of full coverage insurance on that is $2000 a year. how much would the insurance be on a ferrari? i tried getting quotes online but ferrari isnt a selection on most sites. and for dumb answers. you always want to know the price before you buy. dont be jealous/mad cause a kid is doing things that you couldnt accomplish in your whole life.
So basically he sa

How to say no to an insurance agent? So I spent a few hours with this life insurance agent last weekend discussing various options and she gave me lots of term and whole quotes and paperwork to take home. Did the same with an equally helpful agent of another insurance company thereafter. Quotes vary all over the place, so I intend to consult with one more agent before I decide. Now the problem is how to politely say no to all but one these helpful people? They have already started calling to check if I have decided but I need time to shop around. Hope to hear both from consumers who have faced this situation and insurance salespersons who may perhaps face this frequently. Thanks. http://mp7downloads.cn/health-insurance.html http://mp7downloads.cn/health-insurance.html http://mp7downloads.cn/health-insurance.html
Life Insurance in Thailand? I'm trying to find insurance companies that provide whole or term life insurance to Thai citizens living in Thailand that provide quotes on the internet, or easily through email or online forms. At the very least, I'm looking for insurance company recommendations for Thai citizens living in Thailand. I'm not sure which ones are legitimate. I don't want to deal with one that will give the insured person problems or one that will close up shop in a few years. Thanks.
100 ways to order a pizza the fun way...? 100 ways to order a pizza the fun way... 1. If using a touch-tone, press random numbers while ordering. Ask person taking the order to stop doing that. 2. Make up a charge-card name. Ask if they accept it. 3. Use CB lingo where applicable. 4. Order a Big Mac Extra Value Meal. 5. Terminate the call with, "Remember, we never had this conversation." 6. Tell the order taker a rival pizza place is on the other line and you're going with the lowest bidder. 7. Give them your address, exclaim "Oh, just surprise me!" and hang up. 8. Answer their questions with questions. 9. In your breathiest voice, tell them to cut the crap about nutrition, ask if they have something outlandishly sinful. 10.
