Which is better, Colonial Penn or Garden State Life insurance? I am looking for a life insurance policy for my father, he is 54 and a non-smoker. I am looking at term life insurance and would like a policy of at least $50,000 with no medical exam. Are both of these companies legit? Has anyone ever dealt with these companies and had a loved one pass? Please share your experiences.
Colonial Penn (55 - 85 years old) life insurance? I have seen the TV comercials where $7.95 a month will buy life insurance with no health questions asked " waratied aceptance" does anyone know what the catch is? Any feedback would be helpful.
Anyone know the reputation of a life insurance company known as Colonial Penn? My mom received a call from an agent representing Colonial Penn. He then later arranged for a face to face meeting at her home. He offered her various insurance options and gathered from her some very personal information, ie. SS#. This seemed suspicious to me and contacted my lawyer. He displayed concern. I was able to make contact via telephone of this agent. I asked him many questions as: His name. His address. His license #...of which he told me was a temporary one having no verification # nor photo. I asked him where he was fingerprinted. He old me in Irvington , New Jersey. I asked at what police precinct. He told me a private company took the fingerprints. I asked who do high standing I could call to verify his legitimacy. He replied .The New Jersey Dept. of Banking and Insurance. I told him it was highly irregular for notable insurance firms to go door to door. His reply was that they are likely the only one doing so. Does all this seem "up and up?" thank you
Will a USA-based Life insurance policy still be valid if I move to England? My mother wants to get a life insurance policy through Colonial Penn, but we are planning to move permanently to England in about 2 and a half years. Will this policy still be valid there or???
How much is a unit of coverage? For that Colonial Penn life insurance? It advertises $.795 per unit but I can't find out how much a unti is. I can't find it on the web anywhere.
Should I take an insurance job, or stay in grad school? I started a graduate program this year for an MA in History. I always thought what I wanted to do was become a history professor. However, now that I'm in the program I'm not that enamored with it. It's at the same place I did undergrad (a BA in history), where I was kind of the "star" student, so they encouraged me and offered me scholarships to stay on with their program. I feel like it's more of the same and only somewhat challenging. But I know I can springboard into a great PhD program with an MA from here. I'm 25 now, and lately I've been having an urge to settle down. I'm tired of the college atmosphere and now I have a great gf. But I don't think I'd make an attractive husband as a struggling grad student. I was offered a job as an agent with Colonial Penn life insurance, but it's commission-only job (they said no one there makes less than 40k). I could also do teaching if I wanted to. So should I stay with the graduate school, or take the job?
Piano backing track in Colonial Penn commercial? I was watching TV and this Colonial Penn commercial came on and had 2 older women talking about life insurance while a commercial ran on their TV... Alex Trebek was in it? Anyway, the commercial was long and boring, but I was listening to the piano track in the background and I really liked it. So, I know it's a long shot, but if you know what song that is or where I can find it, or something similar, please tell me!! (: Thanks!
Dilemma: Whole Life or Term Life Insurance? I'm trying to get insurance for my mom through Colonial Penn. I'm so lost right now. If something happens to her I want all of burial cost to be covered. She's 48 with minor health problems. I got a quote for Whole Life $60.48, Term Life $18.45. Big difference. I've been reading that Whole Life insurance ia a rip-off but I'm still confused. Can you guys please help me. Thanks a bunch! :)

How long should it take to get life insurance paid out? My father in law passed away and my mother in law seems to be getting the run around in getting his life insurance money. The policy was with Colonial Penn (and they paid in over the years more then she will be getting back). My father in law had been sick for years and money is very tight due to the huge medical costs. How long should it take colonial penn to pay her. She has sent in all the paperwork and death certficate. Is there a certain amount of time they have (legally) to pay. It has been 3 weeks now, and poor mom-in-law max out the credit cards to pay for the funeral. I just hope Colonial Penn is legimate and does not give people a hard time. When my father passed away my mother had her money in less then a week but it was with a large reputable investment firm. Colonial Penn already got the forms, policy and orginal death certificate. The death was not suspicious. The poor man had been very sick and on hospice with pancreas cancer. When hospice told my mother in law that he had less then a week left, we made sure all paperwork was in order, talked to social security, and called colonial penn. We wanted to avoid her worrying over money.
Which company has the best *TERM* life insurance quotes for people over 50 ? Obviously, people over 50 years old will pay a high premium--but is there a company out there that won't "soak the customer" , and at the same time are a reputable company ? In closing--I am not a fan of the 'colonial penn' type deals that plaster their commercials over the television.
Life insurance for 15,000 or more...for someone 65 or older..no health questions.? My father is 69 years old, and wants to take out more life insurance, but is having trouble finding a suitable policy for his needs, colonial penn only wanted to give him 5k in coverage...and he is looking for AT LEAST 15k...He already has life insurance for 15k with aarp/nylife. I was wondering if anyone knew of another life insurance company who could give him at least another 15k, without asking health questions, like aarp/nylife? I told him that I would check on the net to see if I could find something for him, so your help would be appreciated... thanks!:)

A somewhat Disturbing trend? Lately, I have noticed a trend in SOME of our boys in the armed forces. Let me start by saying that I did my time in the Marines, and saw action in Desert Storm. The trend I am talking about is the attitude / mentality of some of the guys that both are returning from 1 or many tours or the boots that aren't even in the fleet yet. Many have an attitude of being owed something. I see many tributes to our boys and while I agree, they go above and beyond what any human should, it is of their own accord. Maybe you younger guys don't see it but surely some of the older vets are picking up on the trend that we somehow are throwing everything we can at these guys. I mean really, they aren't doing it for free, they get paid, they get discounts, they get job training and money to go to college and a paycheck to boot. I never met anyone who joined up to serve their country and actually meant just that. There was always, I had no where else to go or money for school or to see the world attached to that statement. I don't believe that as a Marine I ever felt like i was owed something, I enlisted out of family tradition, and for the experience. I believe that the reason we revere and are so thankful to our soldiers is because we made them fight a war under false pretenses and it's the guilt of counting the daily wounded and KIA that make us feel like we need to do more, if people really cared about us both retired and active duty they would fix the disgrace known as the VA and straighten out the little mess Colonial Penn is trying to hide with the Life insurance payments they short changed hundreds if not thousands of bereaved families. The truth is we do what we do out of guilt, and so before i finish my rant, i will say this: if you are active duty or retired, i will say thanks for following your commander in chiefs orders but most of all, I am sorry, I am sorry for not having a voice loud enough to say STOP, when our politicians were saying go, I am sorry that I wasn't important enough in the world to have stopped the machine of war and death from turning.....I am sorry.
