Anyone know how I can go about canceling my Gerber LIfe Insurance? Hi when my daughter was born I applie for a Life Insurance company called the "Gerber Life Insurance" policy. I've been paying it for about 2 years now but would like to cancel it. Does anyone else have it, can you please explain the benefits? or how I can go about canceling it and will my money be returned. What do you think about the Gerber Life Insurance? Just wondering what your thoughts and/or experiences are with the Gerber Insurance program... it looks good on paper, but who knows for real! THANKS! :-) PS - does it do anything for college? I mean, what is the benefit to this insurance... how does it work? Thanks!
My parents got a gerber life insurance for my son who tragically passed away at the age of 8. Am I getting $? Since the day my son was born my parents have been paying on a gerber life insurance policy, my son died in a tragic accident at the age of 8. They have contacted me but am I really going to be getting $? Yes they listed me as beneficiary and I have filled out paperwork that the insurance company sent me. But my mom said that she listed both me and his father, but his father is looking at life in prison for the death of my son. SO what happens now?
is the gerber life plan insurance a good one for my toddler? my daughter was born in the US and we are currently residing in another country.. i was thinking of investing in a life plan/insurance.. gerber offers a lump sum when the child reaches 18 and is still covered after that.. any suggestions??
What exactly is Gerber Life Insurance? I always see mail on my table with a baby on the envelope that says "Gerber". My parents have been paying for it forever, since I was a baby. I would ask my parents, but they're not home. Is that money for me in the future? If it is, when will I get it? Is it for college or something?
does anyone have gerber life insurance for their child? is it 100% safe? as far as scams go i mean, i gave them banking information and now i'm worried. i did read a lot about it. but i would just like to make sure. please tell me anything you would like to about your experiences with gerber life insurance.
Is Gerber Whole Life Insurance A Worthwhile Investment? My son is 6 months old, and since he's been born, we keep getting sales materials from Gerber regarding their Whole Life insurance plan. It sounds great, but I am clueless about this kind of stuff and don't know if it is truly a good and worthwhile option for our son. My husband and I would like to do something for his future, but we don't have a lot of money. Is the Gerber WHole Life Insurance a good plan, or is there anything else that is better and affordable for us?
is Gerber Life Insurance a scam or a lagetimate company? are you sure it's ligitimate? Becaus i was working for a company that was involved and paying into this for 2 daughters but have stopped because seeing one of the local news channels like a Brad in your corner type deal that proved this to be a non exsisting thing. Anyways i been wondering for a long time now.
Is the " Gerber Life Insurance" really good? Im looking for life insurance for my 2 year old and im always receiving mail from The Gerber Lifk Insurance Company but they are very reasonal with the price but i need more info from others outside.of they company who just want to make a sale. Thnx in advance PS any other ideas are welcome
I want Whole Life insurance and Gerber Life insurance seems good for my Newborn boy. Should I get it too? It says 8.40 for me for 10k and 3.70 for each 5k I want to go higher. For my girlfriend it says 7.80 for the first 10k and 3.40 for each 5k extra. Does this sound like a decent deal? I dont make great deals of money each month, so I just want some decent coverage if the inevitable does happen. So I guess since I am a current sophomore in college i could just get term life insurance and then convert it to whole life once i get a good job. So then would you say term is better than whole life in my situation of being a 19 year old parent?
How do I cash in my Gerber baby life insurance thing? My mom set me up that gerber plan when i was little and she said i get 5,000 dollars if i cash it in when i'm 18 and 10,000 if i wait to do it at 21...I'm 19 now and need some college money but i have no idea how to do this.
Is Gerber Life Insurance Legitimate? I was thinking about getting Gerber Life Insurance for my 5month old. I just wanted to know is it something that I should look into? Or should I just open a bank account that he can't touch until he's a certain age? I want to be able to have access to the money if, god forbid, anything was to happen.. like emergency room visits, or unexpected accidents as such.
Reviews of Gerber life insurance? Does anyone have any personal experience with Gerber life insurance, including the claims process? This is for a whole life insurance policy for an adult.
Gerber life insurance??? Does anyone have gerber life insurance for their child how is it? It sounds to good to be true I just applyed for my daughter who is 5 months. Thats great if it is all it says it is but I was just wondering anyone who has it could tell me some info.
gerber life insurance? when i was younger my parents were paying for gerber life insurance for me, however they have lost all the info for it, is there any way i can see how much they paid into it so i can transfer it to the life insurance company me and my husband go through
IS anyone familiar w/gerber Life Insurance? I'm looking into different plans for my kids...not so much in the fact of "Life"but one that they can borrow on as they turn a certain age...whether it's towards college or car ...that type of thing...I need to start investing in something soon for them as for my own peace of mind....knowing that there is a little extra for them out there...I also talked with Gerber about Life insurance for myself...and geez it does get confusing with all the plans
What can I do with my Gerber Life Insurance (I'm 22 y/o)? For as long as I can remember, my Dad has always been paying into a Gerber Life Insurance policy for me. However, I just got a letter from the insurance company, asking if I want to continue my policy, I'll have to send in my premium. I've done that and all but what I don't understand is how this particular policy benefits me? Why should I continue to pay into this? Can I ever cash out this policy? When I am in retirement (or something like that)?
life insurance with gerber life? hey everybody...im thinking of taking life insurance with gerber life..im getting a lot of pish posh from the company, they seem to be circumventing my questions....im curious has anybody ever filed a claim with them regarding the passing of a loved one, or tried to make a claim with them? my dad...god rest his soul tried to get a life insurance policy claimed when his sister passed on, he was beneficary,,and i remember they gave him a hard time about the policy...if you can suggest a life insurance co you have id be intrested....serious answears only please okay...for the person who said they were tied in with globe life....thank you, ive had nothing but bad dealings with Globe Life insurance...and this tells me a lot right there
Gerber life insurance company? is this even worth doing has anyone ever done this...i need feed back and ideas i have a one year old little boy and i want him to have something to fall back on when he gets older, weather its college or whatever The insurance says they can cash it out for the premium. So should i sign up or just get him a savings account?
is life insurance for my baby a waste of money? I recently completed the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University and I have been "taught" that purchasing life insurance is a waste of money and that you don't get a good return on your investment. For Christmas, my mom purchased a Gerber Life Insurance policy for my daughter. I didn't want to seem ungrateful, but is this going to be worth my mom's time and money?
Gerber Life insurance? My mom says Im a Gerber baby and she pays monthly into them, idk how much. But from what Ive heard when you reach the age of 25 or something like that Gerber gives you money? Im not sure and I was wondering if its true or not. Ive asked my mom and she said she doesnt know. So is it like regular insurance that if i die or get killed the money will go to someone in my family or do I get a percentage of whatever my moms been paying into?
Gerber Life Insurance for Kids? I was just wondering if anyone knew exactly what this covered? I can't seem to find a whole lot of information on their website. Do you think it would be worth it?
Do I need life insurance for my baby? I am about to have a baby, and see lots of ads for the Gerber Life Insurance for children, but don't know if I need it. The price seems to be less than what I would have to pay at my job. Is this something I need?
Life insurance is it taxable or not taxable? Here is what I think. 1- Non taxable if you paid the premiums out of your own pocket. So you get the proceeds and don't pay taxes Such as one of those Gerber life insurance policies 2. Taxable if it's through a company and it is a benefit that they paid the premiums with pre-tax dollars. So you pay taxes on the payouts(proceeds), since company pre-tax dollars were used to fund the monthly premiums --- Explain simplisticly - first time even this thought came accross my mind Question should have been life insurance proceeds.
I'm 21 with the Gerber Life Insurance policy plan, should I continue? I got a mail indicating that I am not the owner of this policy (my parents started this for me when I was young). So I have a few questions, now that I am 21, do I have 10,000$ worth of life insurance for the rest of my life (without having to continue paying?) Why would I want to continue paying if this is just here as insurance in case for my burial costs.. isn't 10k enough for that? If I stop paying will I still have this 10,000 dollars in life insurance, or am I being forced to pay in order to keep it? One person said I am being forced to pay in order to keep it. Is this true? if so isn't that sort of unfair, why would they force you to pay if you've culminated enough for burial costs.. isn't that its purpose?
My grandma keeps telling me she is going to get my child gerber life insurance? She is old, and not very "there". Now, I know enough about money to know that life insurance on a kid is a horrendous idea. You are better off putting the money in a savings account. Plus, we have money in a savings for this. Why is she so darn instant. it's every single converstation almost. How do I say NO - so she remembers this? Are all grandmas like this? Or is she just getitng junk mail and then thinking about her grandchildren? I wish she would say - does your kid have a 529 plan? Can I donate money to it? How can I bring up this idea? Do I just say give us the money instead so we can save it for college? Would you just give up and let her open this insurance policy just to make her happy?
Question about Gerber Life Insurance?? Is it really worth paying for every month? or is a waste of time and money?? does anyone use them? Please explain as much as you can, i think i want to do this for my 1 yr old... thanks.
Can I get money back from Gerber life? I have been paying for Gerber Life Insurance on my son and husband for about 2 years now, it is only $9.00 a piece each month, I have been thinking about cancelling my sons insurance who is 2 1/2 and just saving money for him instead. If I want to cancel my business with them, can i get the money back that i paid in or is it lost? Best answer will be chosen. Thanks
Gerber Life Insurance? I would like to know if anyone out there has the Gerber Life Insurance on their children and if so which plan do you have? I thought about doing this for my two babies. I thought about just doing the $15,000 for each of them. Do you think its important to have insurance on their children, i know we all prey that nothing like that would ever happen to them, but you never know these days. Thanks for any Info! I have insurance on myself, so if anything ever did happend to me, my children are takin care of, plus there is an amout that each will get when they reach the age of 18.
Gerber life insurance policy for my baby good or bad idea? Im thinking about getting this policy for my baby and i want to make sure its a good policy. has anyone had this or heard of it? i want to make sure its a good one. im not getting this incase she dies so i am not morbid!!!! i am thinking about getting this bc when she turns 18 the policy doubles to $10,000 and when she is 25 she can cash it in and get the 10k. that way she will have enough money to start off her adult life. so i am not morbid, i am thinking of her future!!!!

I am thinking of enrolling my 12 year old in this. it says when she is 21 if I pay $30 bucks a month she will get back $70,000 I dont know if it is legit please help? no I am just reading it on their site I entered the age and that is the premioum? https://www.gerberlife.com/gl/view/portal/app/one_page/gu_most/growup_app_alm7_pdf.jsp?plan=growup&prefix=portal2&successPath=%2FstateSelect.do%3Fplan%3Dgrowup%26prefix%3Dportal2&errorPath=%2Fview%2Findex.jsp&smoker=no&state=WA&age=12&gender=female&Submit.x=69&Submit.y=34
In the gerber grow up plan life insurance will he get the cash? If my child has this life insurance and lives to 21 will he get the cash of said life insurance amount if he wishes not to continue to purchase this ? or what happens after that? can someone please explain if the policy holder dies, and the child is still young what will happen the life insurance policy? etc..any information would be appreciated..thanks...
How much is a Gerber Life Insurance policy worth if you cash it in after 21 years? My grandparents got me the policy when I was born and have been paying on it for the last 21 years. I'm pretty sure it was the smallest policy (whatever that was in 1989, probably $5,000), and my grandmother wants to know how much we would get if I cashed it in now. I'm asking because my grandmother just got a letter saying something about it turning over to me because I'm 21, and she thought if I could get anything for it I should take it. My grandparents did not get the policy out on me because they "expected me to die", but becasue they thought it would give be a head start one day They do not have life insurance on themselves, but I don't see how that has any bearing on this I don't expect there to be anywhere near $5,000 available with a cash in, the 5,000 was what the POLICY value was. The letter mentioned one of the options as cashing it in, so we thought at most it would be worth 100 or 2
Question about Life insurance companies? I was wondering if State Farm life insurance was good. I currently have State Farm car and renters insurance from them. I was also curious about Gerber Life insurance for adults. Is it good insurance?
Is the Gerber Life Insurance Policy worth it? I keep hearing about Gerber Life Insurance for babies and I don't quite understand it. Does this mean if I die the baby gets money and vice versa? Does anyone have it or had it? Is it something I should do or not worth it?
Gerber Life Insurance for baby? Do you think this is a worthwile investment? My husband and I aren't great at managing money, but want to make sure that by the time our 4 month old son gets ready for college we have something saved up for him. I requested more information from the company. It seems like a good investment, doubling coverage after the age of 18. Any parents/grandparents have experience with them? Thanks in advance!
gerber life insurance??!!? i want to get my baby on the Gerber Life insurance, and i was wondering if anyone one else already has it... i went and read through the whole website and it didnt really help. i just need to know how much this covers, like if it covered doctors visits, dentists visits, glasses (if he were to need them in the future).. things in that area!! if anyone could fill me in on info about this insurance it's be great!! thanx
Gerber Life Insurance? I have Gerber Life Insurance for both my daughters. What happens when they turn 18, do they get any money from their policy, or is this insurance for them for if and when I pass?
Is Gerber Life Insurance for a child a good thing? What is the point in buying a baby life insurance. Isn't it better to invest the money for the child and let them have access to it whenever you think the child is ready? Has anyone ever made use of the plan?
What type of life insurance is the best choice for our baby? we will be having a son due around november 20th. we are currently looking into different types of life insurance for him and im no longer sure what type i want and the provider to go with. my husband is set on the Gerber life grow up plan but, im not sure that's the way to go when there are whole life policies, term life policies and others out there that seem to offer more than the Gerber program please HELP!
Gerber baby life insurance? If you've used it, or know someone who has, would you recommend it? Why or why not? I already know all about the cost, and benefits etc. I want to know if its as good as it sounds...from someones personal experience!
Why do parents take out life insurance policies on their children? I just got an ad for a "Gerber Life Grow-Up" plan as an insert in my morning paper. The whole idea weirds me out big time! The ad claims that a child will "have trouble getting a policy on their own once they turn 18". It doesn't make any sense to me because my husband at age 25, just bought a rather large policy to supplement the policy he gets from his employer with few questions asked. Its also a bad financial investment too, several financial experts in Money, Kiplinger's, etc. have said that its not worth the money anyway. Am I the only one that is creeped out by child life insurance policies?
Which Gerber insurance? My son is 6 months old & I wanted to get him under Gerber life insurance.. I can't choose between term or whole... I originally applied for whole but my grandmother told me to go with term...any suggestions? Thanks. For my son, 6 months old....I wanted to make sure I would be able to provide him with money for college, or for a funeral if that situation was to arise. I would also like to be able to take money out if there was a financial emergency. I have very slow internet so it's difficult for me to search for insurance online... any suggestions?
Gerber Life Grow Up Insurance? Does anyone have this policy and is it any good? What happens with all the money when they reach the specific age limit? Is it really worth getting?
life insurance cash values? i have gerber life insurance; the cash value one. im not sure my father just singed it over to me. there is a cash value on it and i could REALLY use the money. how do i surrender or cancle the account and get the money? do i call them or have to bring the policy to somewhere i have no idea what to do
Can you get life insurance if your already sick? I have life insurance, and my children have the gerber grow up plan, but my husband doesn't have any and now he's sick. He's 21 - in case his age matters - he was tested for lymphoblastic leukemia last night - but no results yet. Probably because it's Saturday. If he ends up having this, can he still be approved by life insurance? He has a job - they offer health insurance but not life insurance.
Wondering about the Gerber life program.? I'm looking for a good life insurance policy for my 7 month old daughter. I want something that she can eventually take over and will be a decent size for her. I also would like the premiums to stay close to the same so I don't have to worry about her being able to afford it later in life. Has anyone tried the Gerber life program..what are your thoughs on it? Thanks! I don't want if for a savings, we have that setup for her already. I am interested in it because it is a $10,000 policy to begin with then doubles to $20,000 when she is 21 and then $100,000 when she is 28 and she still only will have to pay $6 a month. I just got coverage for less the policy amount and more than double the cost..I am thinking it will save her money in the long run..Plus if anything did happen where I needed money I can pull out a % of what was put in. Is it still a bad idea??
Can't get life insurance for my daughter? My daughter is 11 months old with a few birth defects that will be corrected with 3 more surgeries. Me and my husband have tried to get life insurance in case something goes wrong. But we haven't found anywhere that will let us have insurance on her because of her upcoming surgeries. They all say that we can get it after her surgeries are over, which kinda defeats the purpose. We've tried everywhere in town and applied for the Gerber insurance but with no luck. Is there something we can do? Is there some place that will let us get insurance on her? Is it even legal for these companies to turn down someone when they need life insurance the most?
how much for term life insurance? compared to whole life? im married, age 27 and interested in buying life insurance for me and hubby. for just myself how much would my monthly be approx? im healthy dont smoke and dont want to pay too much money.... does term life give you an option of continuing on with them after the 20+ years term? would the premium go up? i only need around 100, 000 i think. since i dont plan on dieing anytime soon but wouldnt want my family with no funeral money if i did. do my kids need any? they are 2 and 4 and i was considering the gerber life for them? please help! oh hubby is 27 and healthy non smoker as well
Life insurance for children...can they use it as college money? Heres my idea. Gerber life doubles at age 21. I'm supposed to be able to collect all the money I put into the plan, so could I start now (my son is 6 months) and end it at 21 to pay off his college loans and what not? I'm kind of lost on what we can do for him with this money.
What is whole life insurance? i got something from gerber that said i can get a policy for my kids that builds cash value, and doubles at age 21, it says that well, if i did it now while they are babies, it would cost around 50 a month for a 35000 policy and that would be 70000 when they turn 21, do you know if that means that when they turn 21 they can take out the 70000 for college or a house or something, or whether it just means that if they die the 70000 would go to the beneficiary or both, i dont quite understand, it says that it builds cash value, but does that mean that it only builds the cash that you put into it? I really need to know because if they can have a nest egg of 70000 when they turn 21, it would be worth doing...
My daughter is handicapp, gerber insurance and others wont accept her? My daughter is 5 years old. She has an undetermain delayed devopment. She cant sit up, walk or talk or even hold her head up,she also has a feeding tube. I applied with Gerber to get life insurace for her as i have with my other kids and they denied her. Is there any insurance for children with a disablity? this is freaking me out !
Gerber Life Insurance? I'm currently pregnant, but I've received several pieces of mail about this life insurance. I was wondering if anyone has it and what they think about it. It seems like a good plan, but then again, life insurance for a 1 year old seems kind of strange.
Gerber Life Insurance? Anyone have this insurance for their children? What's some thoughts on why to get it? Anyone with children old enough for college...did you use this as an investment for college funds? How did it work for you? What were your experiences? My boys are 5 and 2. I've got these ads in the mail since my oldest son was born. I can't bring myself to apply for life insurance for my kids because, to me, I just feel morbid about it. I realize it could be a good investment for the future, but what is the difference between using a life insurance policy versus investing?
Pregnant.......? I just found out I'm expecting, it's totally unexpected, never thought it would happen - since I've been trying for about five years; and I was finally told I could never have kids. Though now I am! There's tons of things I need to figure out, what to do before the baby comes, and what not. So much to figure out, it's crazy. Though I was hoping someone could give me answers or suggestions on some of the things I need to figure out. Does anybody know what short of Financial support with medical and living expenses there are in my area (Mattoon IL.) or that would help me? Should I go with the Gerber Life Insurance Company or, something else? What kind of Health Insurance could I get..... Medicaid??? Thanks Jessica
Mommies and Daddies!? I am very interested i purchasing the gerber life insurance plan for my two lil ones. I need to know if this is a legit plan. Its seems to good to be true. I cant seem to save and this is something that will help me out. If i am gonna spend money then it will be for a good reason. Please if you have this plan let me know how its working out for you and if it is all that is seems to be. Thank you! Nah, the reason i am getting it is so they will have a good start when they leave the 'nest'. even if it is a small amount. anything helps. i try not to think of my kids dieing though. hopefully they burry me. I am sure if you look into the cash value only a couple of years later it wount be very large. i dont plan on using it, unless of an incident, but until they turn the age they need to be to have full value.
18 and pregnant? I'm 18 and pregnant with my first little girl. I have a few questions. Do you think I am to young? Where is a good public daycare to take my princess? How old should she be before starting daycare? Is public daycare better than private? Should I take my baby out or leave her with with a sitter? What's good age to change into a "big girl" bed? When do I start pottychanging her? What should I do about food? Should I use gerber life insurance? and last but not least, Do you like the names Abigail, McKinney, Delany, or Gabby? I like them all but i can't decide on just one. Thanks for your help. i need it lots!
Is a child custody and divorce agreement binding when one party refuses to sign even if arranged in meditaion? My common-law husbands ex-wife has refused to sign the documents that were agreed upon through the provincial mediator in BC. She refused to sign the papers because they were written up using the married name that she says she never used they had to be made using her previous last name not her maiden. This was in 07 now she has dissappeared we are falling behind in child support because we can't find her and he hasen't spoken with the children in over a year. We asked her if we could put the kids on our RESP and gerber life insurance plan and she said no. So we are stuck. falling behind with a growing savings account waiting for her to collect her $982 a month that she dosen't seem to want. FMEP can't help because the agreement hasen't been filed or whatever. Are we really on the hook for the 14000 that could be hers plus interest from the savings account. She told us may 07 that she would be intouch to let us know where to send the money and be able to at least talk them. We live in Canada and the laws are a little different. They were legally married but common-law is actually considered legall her to. The papers have not been filed and the mediator here has the final say. We have spoken with lawyers and we are still not getting answers. We have done several legal searchs for her. Also the government won't get involved with the child support because she didn't sign and can't be forced to sign. They are legally seperated but she won't let go. We have our own children to who want to get to know the other two that are missing. We have 4 year old pictures hanging up on our wall that have become the topic of conversation several times.
