Have any of you gotten more than one moving traffic violation in one day?

I'm curious to know if any of you have gotten more than one moving traffic violation in one day. I haven't, but I did get a speeding ticket and then running a red light in two weeks. I'm really angry and stressed out right now. I'm in school full time, and working full time as well. I feel stressed a lot because I need good grades to graduate this semester, and I'm trying to work my way up in life. I got a speeding ticket a week ago. Yes I'm guilty of it, it was my fault I was speeding. But tonight I got a ticket for running a red light which I didn't not intentionally mean to do so. I was stopped at a red light waiting, feeling tired and exhausted from the whole week, driving home from work (I get off work late) ... and for some reason I thought the light turned green, I went ahead and then realized I was about to run a red light in the middle of an intersection, I freaked out, and drove through it. Unfortunately there was a cop car behind me. I explained to the officer that I just got off work and i was very tired and stressed and that I DID NOT INTENTIONALLY mean to run the red light. I explained that to her very clearly, and still she gave me a ticket. Two tickets in two weeks! I don't know what to do now. Both tickets were in the same town. I don't want my insurance rates to go up. I feel even more stressed now and I feel like panicking. What should I do?

  1. I've never gotten a ticket so far..*knock on wood* sorry but the last ticket you deserved too you have a big responsibility driving a vehicle and since you didn't pay attention you just drove threw a red light. You driving threw that red light could have resulted in a bad accident. You need to step back and look at your own actions. Appealing that wont do you any good your still going to have to pay that ticket I guarantee you that.
  2. Oh to cops it doesnt matter if it was intentional or not. They dont care about anything but their quotas. I have probably the worst driving record. Ive had my license suspended twice in the span of 4 months. Both for speeding *and doubling the speed limit both times* But to answers you question yes I have gotten more than one moving violation. Ran a stop sign, red light, didnt signal (that cop was a dick), and to top it was my first speeding ticket. Wasnt a good day....pretty big ticket too.... And what you should do, theres not much you can do...you can always appeal your tickets if you think it was unreasonable but that takes time. Your insurance wont go up too much if its your first offense, just call your insurance company and see what it would go to, once you see its not much you will feel much better. Dont sweat the small stuff man,
  3. one of my X coworkers got 2 DUI's in one night.....
  4. So far, I haven't gotten a ticket yet. I am sure I will some day though. Don't panic. Instead, call your insurance company tomorrow and ask them, theoretically, what would happen to your rates if, say, you got a speeding ticket and ran a red light. I've also heard of people going to court to dispute speeding tickets that they knew full-well that they deserved and having some luck with that. There are lawyers with annoying ads that say they specialize in that. Just try to handle it methodically and de-stress. Make some phone calls and get a little more info tomorrow, then curl up with a good book or a movie and let it distract you. Once this is in perspective, it won't seem so bad. You were lucky you didn't have a car accident. You can be more careful in the future, and try to avoid driving when you know you are extremely upset or too tired to drive safely.
