Why is life insurance more expensive for males than it is for females?

I saw quotes online and monthly it was about 20 dollars more expensive for a male. Why is this?

1. Because we die sooner, are at a higher risk for diseases that cause death and we often work in jobs that are more dangerous then those that women (in general) work. Basically, we are more of a risk.
2. chicks live longer. that means that they'll be paying a larger number of premium payments, and that the pay-off gets pushed farther into the future, which makes it worth less in today's dollars.
3. insurance is a business so they look at stats. Historically men die sooner, don't go to the doctor as often and don't take as good care of their health. That means they will get less money out of you before you die and still have to pay. Women live longer and they will get more monthly payments from them on average than a man In the end most things can be traced back to money
4. Because we take more stupid risks that woman don't take. Also, we have a shorter life expectancy.
5. because the world seems to think that men are superior
6. b/c the woman next to us will nag us to death first...mother, wife, sisters, etc etc etc.
