- How long do you own the policy? Is it whole life? Is there a cash value? If it is a term policy you can just stop paying. If it is a whole life policy that you owned for a few years, it may have cash value. Call and ask for a form to liquidate the policy.
- IF YOU CAN SUBMIT THE POLICY DOCUMENT WITHIN 15 DAYS OF RECEIPT OF THE SAME ALONG WITH A APPLICATION STATING THAT YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITION OF THE POLICY. IF THE 15 DAYS OF FREELOOK ARE OVER...THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE A SOLID REASON TO GET THE POLICY CANCELLED.
- Only the owner can cancel the policy. If you are the policy owner, ask them to send you the cancellation forms. They mail them to you, you fill them out, keep a copy, and mail them back.
- harsh_ttt, Life insurance is actually very flexible. Since I live in Wyoming I'm not sure about New York laws and regulations, so I recommend you call a nearby life insurance agent. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Life-Insurance.html They should be able to assist you.
