Separate Accounts Life Insurance Quotes After Retirement?

I am 27 and I just started working for the State of Texas. They offer both a 401(k) and a 457(b)but I don't know much about either. I just want to know how I should put away my money for retirement I feel like as a couple we can put away about $250/month. My salary is $32k/year. I am married with 3 kids. My husband is 29 and makes 48k/year and he also just began working for the State of Texas. Should we start separate accounts at our jobs or one account together?

  1. In your later question you don't have children. What happened to them? Your question doesn't otherwise make any sense. Because you're asking about Life Insurance in the title but don't mention it in the question.
  2. You should have separate retirement accounts in my opinion. I am not an expert. Life insurance is not an investment. Take some cheap term life insurance and investment your retirement money in the 401K. Put don't ask insurance agents about investments. Call a financial planner or your employee benefit department.
