I am looking for a job that pays at least 24,000 USD annually while in college. Is this possible?

I am currently a Business Administration major at Troy University. As odd as it may seem, I am still not very good a writing resumes. I have neither a suit nor a tie or an iron to keep my not-quite-dressy button down shirts as wrinkle free as possible. I have never been required to where a suit and had no intentions of buying one until my last year of college. Now it seems that I am going to have a hard time finding any job that pays at least 2,000 dollars a month because of my lack of professional attire and resume writing skills. Also, as you will see, my resume is very weak, mostly because I don't have much to put in it. I was never a member of any organizations outside of music and band other than the National Honors Society. Even now, in college, I am no longer a member of the marching band because I cannot be a member, go to school, and hold a full time job. The only thing that I have going for me is that my grades were amazing in high school. I graduated High School with an advanced diploma and a GPA of 3.85. I feel as though I am going to be stuck working as a sales associate at another retail store for the next four years of my life. I know of many companies in town that are hiring assistant manager positions, but, as you will see, I have no supervisory experience. At the moment, as I have said numerous times until now, I feel I have nothing going for me at the moment because, to my understanding, no one cares if you are in college or have a degree in progress. They only care if you actually have your degree ready to hand to them. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to improve my resume, and possibly even land a job with a decent salary that can grant me with even more experience and more to put on my resume after college. 1. Sorry the economy is against you...... There are thousand and thousands of talented, experience people on the street due to the economy…the competition for any job is extreme. …people will do anything for much less just to feed their kids……..I don’t expect it to get any better before 2012……
  2. Your resume lacks 'oomph'. You need to talk about your accomplishments and what you can bring to an employer. It is possible to find a job but you need to get an iron and spice up your resume! :)
