Does anyone know the average return percent on a variable annuity from lets say New York Life Insurance?

  1. I suggest you talk to the agent you got the policy through.
  2. You can go to http://www.newyorklife.com/nyl/v/index.jsp?contentId=8952&vgnextoid=4acba2b3019d2210a2b3019d221024301cacRCRD Which is New York Life's website. They have a drop down menu that will list the performance of the underlying sub accounts in each of their variable annuity products. Within a variable annuity you make a selection of a variety of sub accounts (like mutual funds). The performance of the VA is going to depend on the way in which you invest your money in these sub accounts. So no one can give you an average for their variable annuities because they have 10 different VAs and I didn't even look to see how many sub accounts within each. If you would like help from a comparison standpoint or have any questions let me know.
  3. That's a quite broad brushed question. That would depend on too many factors to even begin to answer. That's like asking what the average return on a 401k is. Did they go into the fixed account or something else, what time frame, etc...?
