Life Insurance Quote?
What is the best way to get a life insurance quote from numerous companies? I want o make sure that the prices I get are the actual price that they will end up charging me. What is the best website for me to get such a life insurance quote?

- Make some phone calls to some local life insurance agents. Ask for the quotes to be mailed or emailed or faxed to you. This way you can compare them.
- No website will be 100% accurate all the time. They don't get updated to the minute when an insurance company changes rates. They also won't factor in any kinds of ratings if you have a health issue or strange situation or something. And many won't give you factual information to make sure you are you are buying form a legitimate company that won't go bankrupt tomorrow and leave you paying for something that won't be there when you need it, or they may not tell you the differences between policies (some may have more exclusions, some may have added things like return of premium, some may have extra features or fewer features causing them to be more or less expensive). While getting insurance and other products at a good value is important, the cheapest is not always the best. Real world example: Toys made in China are cheaper than in North America, but many toys in China use (or used to use lead based paint), which made kids sick and even die in some cases from lead posioning. I'd rather pay an extra buck for a solid product that is better quality. The best bet is to meet with an insurance broker in your area. They will be able to assess your situation, help you figure out how much insurance you need and what kind, and they will also shop around and compare up to date accurate prices and determine the legit companies from the sketchy ones. Not saying websites for quotes are useless by any means, but a broker is also free and will typically do a more detailed job for you than a website will. If you want to check out some sites there are tons of them. As a broker I use winquote.net to get a rough idea of who fits in where price wise. They have lots of options for joint life, single life, for term and whole life products.
- Two problems with what you're trying to do. First and foremost, gathering quotes is NOT a proper or responsible way to buy life insurance, and it doesn't matter what premium you are quoted because the insurer has not underwritten you yet and has no idea what your premium will be. The ONLY way to properly buy life insurance is as part of a comprehensive financial plan. Consult with a properly qualified financial planner or advisor. Together you will discuss and analyze what it is you wish to accomplish with the insurance, and how it relates to other aspects of your financial life. While it is always prudent to save money where you can, premium is the least important consideration.
