What kind of life insurance should my husband get?
We are looking to get a life insurance policy for my 25 year old husband. We have three young children so we're trying to figure out what would best provide for the family if God forbid something were to happen to him.

- Want me to do your taxes for you while I'm at it? Balance your check book, hmm? Oh and if something bad DOES happen, it will be god's doing. Omnipotence without the will to prevent an atrocity would be evil, yes?
- Noone can answer this for you. Only you two as a couple can answer what life insurance you should get. I suggest you talk to a specialist or an advisor who will sit down and explain all the different kinds of policies there are and the advantages/disadvantages of each one and what fits into your budget. You have to remember that you pay into your life insurance every month, so the cost is a factor and we don't know what your financial situation is or what your needs are so we cannot make a decision for you.
- Term Insurance > Whole Insurance in the majority of situations. The extra costs embedded into the monthly premium of Whole Insurance make it questionable "investment" & you likely won't know you are getting screwed unless you hire an independent financial planner (never trust the Insurance Salesman). As to Term Insurance, you buy it to cover a specific time frame. What you should do is consider the time frame, say the next 20 - 30 years. If your husband should die with-in that time frame, what expenses would you have and could you meet them on your own? There is no point to buying more Term Insurance than you really need because chances are you will never collect.
- He should be both whole and term insurance Whole is your whole life, and can not be cancel after you get old or sick Whole should be like 100,000 to 250,000 dollars Why, after the children are gone, and your husband died, you will get this money to help you YOu should also have insurance, whole life, for your husband Term, will cost less, and it's for a term You both should have close to 1 million dollars in insurance today, in case anything happen Most could be term Both you and your husband should have this This is for your children, your house, college, etc Using both whole life and term will be the cheapest way for insurance YOu should shop around for the insurance YOu can go with two different company My husband and I had both whole life and term He also had life insurance from his work, that were the cheapest He died when my child was two My mom died when I was ten Both parents should have life insurance You really need to shop around and talk to different sales man to see what they offer Your husband should check with his work, to see if they offer life insurance You right, it's important
