Which is the best and cheapest Pet insurance company to use?
I've researched a few companies and tried money supermarket etc but I am unsure who to go with. Petplan being the obvious first choice but it's so expensive, my quote is between £45 and £65 a month for whole Life pet insurance. I have 2 pedigree pug puppies so really need to insure them but I don't want to pay that much money. Any suggestions from people with experience would be appreciated. Thanks

- Direct line is the best that I have found! £16.99 for life time insurance. But it was like £11.99 for the first 3 months.
- I know that I'm not the one you wish to hear from because I don't have pet insurance but... you get what you pay for! You have to consider what each covers. Also, consider a separate savings account for your own insurance fund. If you put the same cheaper amount into a savings account each month you will likely be able to cover expensive costs your self. That is, if you have the self discipline to stick to the plan. Then, if your dogs stay healthy and you don't need to dip into the savings you still have your own hard earned money.
- You are right Pet plan are the best as they cover any illness or injury for the life of the pet no other insurance company do that. I was advice by my vets the next best three are Morethan, Buddies or Marks and spencer they are the only insuranes that will cover a pet to a certain amount and no time limit per illness or injury where all the other cover a certain amount for a year. The cheaper the monthly payment the last they cover. Pet insurance is really a great thing to have it is one of those things you hope you never need but are glad you have it when you do.
- go on line to care credit and apply on line they do people and animals both all in one card
- like all insurance companies the quote will be based on the breed and how often that breed suffers health problems, Where you live and how many people have claimed also affect your your first years payments, and then the claim free bonus starts kicking in. The other thing you have to consider is what level of cover you want as the cost increases with the amount they will pay, and if you are willing to increase the excess then you can decrease the cost. Everything is negotiable! Have a good chat on the phone with the ones that have free phone numbers.
- I assume you're talking about pet health insurance not life insurance. if you were to put aside the amount of the average monthly payment you would make for pet dog insurance each month for a year that may be enough to cover any pet emergencies that come up, but possibly not surgery depending on the extent of it. Most pet health insurance companies will not insure a dog that has a preexisting condition. There is a wide range of premiums for pet dog insurance.Make sure to compare all the costs and read the fine print-- there are many exclusions found there that may not be mentioned in a phone call.
