recommendable life insurance company for individuals with diabetes?
I'm looking for a company that provides life insurance for individuals with diabetes. My son is 23 with juvenile diabetes and I'm having a hard time finding a company to insure him because of that.

- I've never heard of one that will insure us. I've tried dozens of times. They'll take the application but then send you supplemental questionnaires and once you check that "insulin-dependent" box, you're out. Sorry. Maybe he can get on with a decent-sized company that at least offers a token $10K policy.
- The company I work for, Liberty National, offers a Modified Benefit policy that covers anyone with the exception of terminal illness, AIDS/HIV, incarcerated, Lou Gehrig's/ALS, nursing home, and Alzheimers. The max is $15,000 but that is enough to cover final expenses. It is paid-up in 20 years, whole life insurance with a cash value, level premium and guaranteed death benefit after the third year (first three years pays only premiums plus interest). They may actually approve him for a better plan but it will definitely be rated. The Modified policy would be the worst case scenario.
- Juvenile diabetes is a tough nut to crack with life insurance, but the place to start is with more information. We know your son is 23 and has diabetes. At what age was he first diagnosed? What is most recent A1c? How many units of insulin is he taking daily? Is he on any other medications for kidney or other diabetes related health issues? Has he had any other health problems? Has he ever been hospitalized because of the diabetes? How often does he monitor his glucose? There are companies that are better than others in regards to diabetes. The way to find them is to get all the information to an agent who can shop those companies.
- lifeinsurance.awardspace.info - try this one. I have their insurance and, as remember, they can provide such a service.
