I'm in the US and I am shopping for life insurance quotes. Any recommendations?
Of course, I would like to find competitive quotes, but just don't know where to start. Everyone says I should shop around rather than just choose one provider. Any assistance would be appreciated.

- The only answer is to shop around. Stick with names that are well known companies. Transamerica Life, New York Life, Farmers, State Farm, ect. Start with the company that carries your homeowners or auto insurance to get the most discounts.
- You'll want to buy from an insurance company that's rated A or better. Don't worry too much about name brands - lots of perfectly good insurance companies do NOT do mass marketing, and only work through agents. You CAN get a perfectly good life insurance company, highly rated, that you've never heard of. And you'll probably want to avoid most of those comparison websites - their purpose is to harvest your personal information, and sell it. Before you start shopping around, SET THE GOAL. Decide exactly what you want the life insurance to accomplish for you, so you can calculate how MUCH coverage you need, for how long. THEN pick the product that matches the goal, from a highly rated carrier, at the best price.
- Use a life insurance broker with a good life insurance quote engine on their site and you'll be in good shape.
