The insurance part is a waste because life insurance is mostly a waste for children because actuarilly they are not likely to die and the expense of their death is minimal. You do not have to worry about replacing their earnings for example as when a spouse dies. It is whole life insurance for babies. Most advise against whole life policies and advise you to invest the money yourself. In Canada you can invest in educational funds if that is what you are worried about and there are more tax incentives and government bonuses to make this more worthwhile.
2. I usually get the child riders on the adult term life...They are very cheap..Here's the thing..No one ever keeps something that long, most people change within that time, and they know it...
