All Life Insurance Tips

My teeth are stained because of a unfortunate accident. Any ideas on fixing?

I deleted my last post as people seemed to want to *dr.phil* me, but anyway, Here is my problem: Since a kiddy when my adult teeth came in, they have been stained. What I mean is, all of them appear the same color EXCEPT the two front teeth on top which appear to have white tips like I dipped my front teeth in white paint! As you can imagine its been hell for me for years at school because of the teasing...... What docs have said my whole life : Antibiotic while in moms belly caused it or floride as a kid (said once). My mom directly says it was her fault bc she took tetracycline when I ask about it. I never tell her I hate her or anything, we have a nice relationship and say I love u.. tho a lot of times I feel resentment towards her for various things (Guess hates the wrong word). Anyway, Anyone have any advice? I don't want to have fake teeth or any of that crazy stuff. I am hoping someone has an idea to fix my wacky teeth. I dont have insurance to go to dentist. TY BTW I HAVE TRIED ALL THE KITS AND SUCH AT STORES THEY DONT HELP MY PROBLEM...... NOR DOES 500 PROFESSIONAL WHITENING.. MAYBE SOMEONE KNOWS ABOUT A LASER WHITENING OR SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY WORKS FOR THIS? ;) I DONT WANT TO PAY A TON OF MONEY TO HAVE IT NOT WORK.. AGAIN.. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? I DONT WANT FAKE TEEEEETH

  1. Have you ever tried Crest whitning strips? They do a pretty good job of whitening your stained teeth. I would try that along with a whitning tooth paste.
  2. use liquid paper on yo teeff
  3. hmm, i'm not sure if this will help or not. but maybe..? swish hydrogen peroxide in your mouth for a minute 2 times a day. (morning and night, i guess) it's supposively suppose to make your teeth unstained after a week. i'm not sure though. i'm sorry about your problem, though.
  4. As I said before, there is no solution to this issue. We tell all our patients with this exact same issue the same thing I am telling you. You can NOT whiten the tooth to be the whiteness as the rest of your teeth. Whitening bleach only whitens the enamel, and your stain is intrinsic (meaning internally the dentin/or inside of the tooth is darkend). You can have a dentist place veneer's over the two teeth (veneers are about $400-550 depending on which dentist you choose) and they will look no different than any of you other teeth. A veneer isn't a fake tooth. Its merely like having an acrylic finger nail over your natural finger nail. Only the veneer will be permanently cemented onto you existing tooth. No one will ever know it is there unless you tell them, or a dental professional looks in your mouth. (We can always tell with a light and mirror :) ) Glad to hear you change your previous question to a nicer one. I copy and pasted this below to educate you a little on your situatioin. (definition of deciduous teeth- "baby teeth" or primary teeth). The deciduous maxillary central incisor begins to undergo mineralization 14 weeks in utero, and at birth 5/6ths of the enamel is formed.[6] The crown of the tooth is completed 1.5 months after birth and erupts into the mouth at around 10 months of age, making these teeth usually the second type of teeth to appear. The root completes its formation when the child is 1.5 years old. *****The permanent maxillary central incisor begins to undergo mineralization when a child is 3–4 months of age.[7] The crown of the tooth is completed at around 4–5 years of age and erupts into the mouth at 7–8 years of age. The root completes its formation when the child is 10 years old. So, if your permanent teeth are discolored from tetracycline, it is NOT from your mother taking it while pregnant. Its from YOU taking it as a child while the teeth were being developed (up in the bone and gums before they erupted). You must have been a very sick little kid. Especially around the age of 3 months to 5 years old. A high fever can triger this discoloring too (if it is more of a dark yellow). Tetracycline is usually a grey color. So to repeat: did not happen from you r MOM taking while pregnant. It happend from you taking it while a small baby or child. Depending on you illness, there may not have been an alternative available. Some children to this day have to take it and end up with the same issue you have. But as a child its a matter of life or death vs. a cosmetic issue with your teeth (that can be handled). I would choose my child's life over them being teased in grade school and needing veneer's some day. Just think about children you have limbs removed or can't walk. I'd say you are pretty lucky to only have that! Especially considering it is ONLY 2 TEETH! Many have ALL theri teeth this way. Hope I helped. ps: too much fluoride as a kid is called fluorosis and that causes white spots on the teeth. Don't think thats what you have. FYI And if you don't have insurance, you can find a dentist that will accept payments or set up a payment plan. If there is a dental college around they can do it for a fraction of the cost! Or you can finance it thru "Care Credit" and make monthly payments to them with no interest. :) Good luck!
  5. Unfortunately veneers are really the only option of getting "rid" of the teeth staining. Tetracycline stains are notoriously hard to bleach out or whiten away, so the only effective way is to cover them up. If you look around, most of them recommend veneers as a cover-up. http://www.mynewsmile.com/cosmetic/tetracyclinestains.htm http://www.birmingham-laser-dentistry.com/tetracycline_tooth_stains.html http://www.dentalicon.com/tetracyclinestains.html
