How much is a unit of coverage?
For that Colonial Penn life insurance? It advertises $.795 per unit but I can't find out how much a unti is. I can't find it on the web anywhere.

- $1,000
- 1 unit is 'usually' $1,000.00 But if you really are interested, contact the insurer to confirm.
- Usually, a unit of coverage is $1000 today. If a policy is written prior to 1976 they might speak of units in terms of $100 units. http://www.lvhealthins.com
- Not true what others say; I used to write for Colonial Penn, and a "unit" depends on your gender and age when you apply. For example: 1. For a 50 yr old female in CA, a unit is worth $1887 of coverage. 2. For an 84 yr old male in CA, a unit is worth $375 of coverage. But both pay $7.95 per unit.
- It's bad deal. Shop further for term insurance.
