Question about Lap Band surgery?
I am considering Lap Band surgery as my insurance (UHC) covers all but 150.00 copay. The only thing is I am nervous about this. I have been overweight my whole life. My doctor is having me take Adipex but I know this is a permenant solution as Adipex only kills your appetite and once I stop I will resume eating. But I have read online that people easily get sick and vomit with lap band and they are having all sorts of pains. Now I dont know anything about these people but I wanted to get some answers from others. How much weight have you lost and at what rate? Also is it painful and do you get sick often?

- i myself dont have one~ i wanted one, but the more i researched it the more it scared me! then i worried that if i did get it and lost all that weight i needed to and got the band removed i would just start eating like crazy again because i wouldnt ever feel full... i think you should just stick with the grunt work of actually eating better and working out. in the beginning its mind over matter. in the beginning i found myself eating when i wasnt even remotely hungry. and i was lazy. i wish you the best of luck.
- if people are vomiting after lap band surgery then they either need to have the opening enlarged or they need to chew their food better to allow it to pass through the opening. a doctor would advise them on whether or not the band needs to be adjusted. it is a very easy procedure to have the band adjusted. lap band is not a permanent solution. lap band surgery is best for people who have proven that they can lose weight by having lost weight in the past. it is best for people who can't seem to keep the weight off though.
