Which Pet insurers offer life cover?
We have just got a 8 weeks old puppy ridgeback. We're now looking for insurance compaines. We have two maine coon cats that are covered via PetPlan (life cover). I know ther are cheap insurers out there like tesco and such, but they will only cover an illness once for 12 months, so if it is dignosed with a long term illness its going to cost a bit! Can anyone give alernate insurance companies that offer the same deal as petplan?

- It varies, but I think most of them carry this coverage. Your vet can help you out talk to him or her.
- VPI Pet insurance - www.petinsurance.com - is renewed annually but if your pet has a health issue that carries into the next term year it is covered. This is what I read on their site and I will be enrolling my pup two weeks before her arrival because it takes 14 days for the approval process. Good luck :) ***Add: They also have a plan that covers spay/neutering.
- pet palls and cheaper access as well, they cover on going conditions,im with them for cats
- Pet Plan. They have several levels of cover. I took out the highest one and was so glad I did because my GSD needed both hips replaced. Cost £3.500 per hip, but pet Plan did not turn a hair. Paid out with no problem. They cover for life with any condition with my policy, not just the first year. They pay out more in a month in medication for my dog than they take in premium. Check out ANY insurance (and I mean the small print) thoroughly, but Pet Plan have been great with my girl for eight years now. One of my doggy friends was caught out with Tesco, so be very careful.
- I believe Direct Line falls into this category.
