So you want National Healthcare. Do you also want your Life tracked by the Gov't???

ID cards 'could be a Big Brother tax trap' Identity cards could provide a back door for the taxman to snoop on people's affairs using a database of National Insurance numbers. The card system will use an existing NI database to log details, potentially making it easier for tax inspectors to keep tabs. Officials had hoped to base ID cards on a National Identity Register but will instead use the Customer Information System run by the Department of Work and Pensions. Gareth Crossman, policy director at Liberty, added: "The Government sold us the ID card scheme under the guise of terror and crime protection, but the reality is that it has the potential for massive, unanticipated state access into our private lives." Wow, really???!!! Who woulda thought??? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/08/11/nid111.xml I don't have any credit cards and I think that the 57 dollars I pay out of pocket for a Dr. visit is pretty affordable. "Those that sacrifice freedom for security, deserve neither." Have you priced out a plumber lately?? As a boiler tech I make 92.50 an hour, that's more than my Dr......

  1. I don't want national health care. I want affordable insurance, especially for children. The only way to do that is to take capitalism out of health care. And do you think you can't be tracked already by your Social Security card?
  2. I want affordable health care, and you think credit card companies don't keep track of you.
  3. okay.
  4. I'm going to answer your question this way. Back in 1974, they came out with the UPC bar code for every product sold in stores. The UPC bar codes were just the beginning of conditioning the American public for convenience. I mean, at first, the American public made statements that this was the mark of the antichrist. Now what do we have? We have every convenience you could imagine to make things easier and more convenient. We have check cards (visa and mastercard) that have given us more convenience, however; they also bring up the issue of identity theft. I'm sure we all know how prevalent identity theft is now. So, now they have plans to come out with a national I.D. card. To what end? It is to precondition the American public about how insecure these are and how susceptible they will be to identity theft as well. What will that lead to? The microchip implant in your right hand or forehead. This is more than big brother. This is about total control over the population. To answer the other part of your question. No, I don't want socialised healthcare. What I want is a government that doesn't engage in civil wars that cost billions now and probably into the trillions in the years to come. What I want is our government to stop using American tax payig dollars on foreign affairs and start using them on the American public. This would enable the U.S. government to give the states the money they need to be able to make health insurance accessible to everyone.
  5. The one is not the same as the other. You commit the shyster's ploy of conflating two disparate issues, using the fear of the one to dismiss the other. I want national single-payer health care, like the rest of the civilized world has. Bush/Cheney have eviserated our rights, and can legally track us (unconstitutionally) already, and you worry about a card? By the way. there is no law that says you must pay federal taxes on income from labor. Only federal employees have to pay federal taxes on their wages. Check it out.
  6. Um. YES. of course! sometimes, i forget who i am and where i left my car keys. i'm always thrilled to have the goverment there to help me out.
