What is the best web site off of which to buy life insurance?
I don't want an agent. Just a website, to buy a term life insurance policy. The sites I visit demand I contact an agent. I'm not interested in paying for an agent's services.

- dont buy insurance online may be a scam talk to a agent in person newyork life isa great company and u can trust them the agents go through very intense background checks!
- you dont pay the agent . the company pays him/her . the agent will help you with all the paperwork, submissions and medical tests which if done on your own can be quite time consuming and mind boggling. the agent will keep track of your renewal payments too and collect the payments from you and deposit the same for you. if you need to make any changes in your policy documents after a few years [like change of address, change of nominee, etc] the agent will do it for you. even at the time of claims the agent will do all the legwork for you and see that the claim is amicably settled.
- You do not pay insurance agents unless it is a no-load policy, and that is very rare. Why do you think you pay insurance agents? They are paid commissions by the insurer when the policy is issued most of the time. Secondly, I would compare quotes with an online form. I have found premium differences of $300 a year for the same term life insurance policy for the same individual. The form below will allow you to compare quotes from major insurers in your area.....
- Websites are your worst source. Agents are the best. See an independent agent for quotes. You don't have to pay the agent for that.
- I have yet to see a good online quote engine. You never pay for the agent or their services. The companies they represent pay for that. You will not receive a discount by going online, in many cases, you end up paying more. It is also better to have an agent because they can usually make a few recommendations that may actually reduce your cost. But if you would rather talk to a machine than a human being, go ahead. They will screw you worse than most agents can.
- Most agents do not charge clients anything, so I don't see what you are 'paying' for. Purchasing insurance online is a poor decision unless you are an expert in knowing which companies are good, and what to look for in those companies. You will not get advice that is tailored to your situation. A website will give you information about an exception to the rules that you might fall into. Regarding the prices online, almost every single quote online is based on there Preferred ratings, which for the most part and based on sub-human health standards (IE: people that have barely had a cold or flu in their lives). Every insurance company has different underwriting standards...some are stricter than others. You may think you are healthy, but in the eyes of an insurance company you may not be. A broker can access this so you aren't wasting your time on applications getting declined or rated. IE: If you are a smoker, a website will strictly tell you which companies have hte cheapest rates. The website won't say anything about a company that has a stop smoking incentive where they will refund a portion of your premiums if you stop smoking. In this case it is better to pay an extra 50 cents to get the opportunity to get it back in the end and the non-smoker premiums are cheaper then the other companies non-smoker premiums. Same case goes for build restrictions (if you do not fit into the companies hieght/weight charts). A broker can access these types of situations you may qualify for.
