How do i go about Ammending/revising a divorce decree?

I got divorced in the state of Ga in 2006. 1 child, i have physical custody. I need to have my decree amended for the following things: 1. It says and i quote " if father wishes mother to pay for a portion of visitation travel costs, 1 months notice must be given" It does not state i MUST pay, or how much. . .This was never an issue since I've always just met him half way the few times he did see his daughter. Now that we live in upstate ny ( we have been residents here for a year and a half) plane tickets are needed. I want that little blurb taken out totally. I want it to state that if he wants to see his kid, it has to be 100% on his dime - He is pressuring me to pay HALF since i refuse to let a 5 year old fly unaccompanied halfway across the country. I want a stipulation that says she absolutely will NOT fly unaccompanied until both her father and I mututally agree she is ready. . . he does ( imagine that, he wants to save a buck) and I do NOT. - It states that he was to pay medical insurance for my daughter. he has never provided this for her, and we have had to pay out of pocket for her medical since the decree was finalized in 2006. Is there anything i can do about that??? - His child support was based on the base pay of an E-3 in the military. He has since been pushed out of the military for higher ten year ( ie, couldnt make rank) and has gotten a better paying civilian job. Can i alter his child support to reflect his change in pay?? - I want to ammend summer visitation to only two 10-14 day visits. The reasoning being my ex husband only calls my daughter 2-3 times YEARLY and sees her about once a year. She has been getting very emotional about the upcoming christmas visit to him once she found out that she would not be staying at her paternal grandmother's house, and I don't want to force her to go. . . if she's having a fit about 14 days, she's going to have a heart attack over the whole summer. I think her wishes should be considered. - I want a stipulation that says if anything happens to me, she will reside with her step father and brother, with the same visitation with her biological father as when i was alive. As i said, they talk 3 times yearly and see eachother 1ce a year on average. She's very close with her little brother and i want to have the peace of mind that her and her brother will not be separated. her biological father and i separated when she was 3 months old. My current husband has been in her life as a parent figure since she was 1. is this stipulation feasable?? Thanks so much in advance. . . if anyone can just take me through the motions of what i need to do i'd be forever grateful!!! PS-- the final decree took place in Ga. . . not sure if i stated that or not. We now live in upstate nY. MY current husband is military if that matters. . . and for whoever said this divorce was "typical" thanks moron for only answering for the points. . I've had a lawyer tell me it is abnormal for the custodial parent to pay for any of the travel costs whatsoever.

  1. You need to go back to your lawyer and have this changed.
  2. go the court house get a copy then seek a lawyer or child services
  3. your decree sounds typical. Most judges will not waiver from it. Sorry to tell you that. With the airlines of today, you can tell the preservationist that you have a 5 year old traveling to see their father/mother and a liaison will accompany them from boarding to landing. Will not leave their side and will most times provide a detail diary of what they did in flight. You have no excuses to deny him.
