  1. Hi, I just read one article about this topic, here is it http://www.carsinsuranceguide.com/instant-life-insurance-quotes-for-your-children-107/ I hope it can help you!
  2. Your best bet is to consult a lisensed insruance borker in your area. They will be able to shop around to multiple comopanies for you and them make a recommendation on which one the best would be. Going through a broker is also good if the child has any possible medical condition (no matter how minor) as they can find a company that doesn't worry about the condition.
  3. A local agent. Most of the time, life insurance for kids is a ripoff. I don't insure my kids.
  4. I'd advise calling your auto/homeowners insurance agent and seeing what type of programs they offer. You should understand what you're buying, and an agent is the best person to explain that, and can answer any questions you may have. After speaking with your agent and deciding thetype of policy you want you can get quotes from other companies for t hat same type of policy. I have to disagree with the wonderful mbrkatz that life insurance for children is a ripoff. There are many reasons why buying life insurance for kids can be a good move. Someone recently asked me about this and I ran across a blog article called Why Life Insurance for Kids Isn’t Always a Bad Idea about this very subject not long ago at http://justshootmenow.wordpress.com/2008... To me it's a great way to get a program started that can stay with them throughout their lifetime. Being able to ensure insurability - which means that even if the child develops an illness that would make him uninsurable later they can still buy more insurance - is a great selling point, IMO. Lots of kids develop asthma, and diabetes is rampant in our society. I don't think it's a bad move at all. I wish my parents had bought one for me! Hope that helps. Good luck!
  5. Are you trying to get "funeral" insurance ($10K) term policy? Or a whole life policy that you will give to them when they turn 21 (or whatever?) For a term policy, the cheapest way to go is to add a child rider to an existing policy. It usually goes up to $10K and is around $2-$3 a month. For long term protection, whole life policy can make a lot of sense. Ask anyone who developed severe asthma or diabetes before age 21 who now either can't get a policy or afford one. They wish their parents had done something for them. You need to call an agent.
